The Forced Separation/Reunion Meme

Your characters have been forced apart -- be it by destiny, circumstance, or death. The only thing that's certain? It wasn't voluntary. Now, thanks to chance, luck, or fate, you meet again.

1. Tag with your character. Include name/series/preferences in subject line.

2. Roll RNG to determine the duration/cause of the separation.

3. Play out the separation, the reunion, or both.

4. Be excellent to each other.

Reason

1. Death - One of you died -- or that was the general consensus, anyway. Whether you've been brought back or you were never really dead in the first place, who can say? All we know for sure is you're alive and kicking -- more or less.

2. Argument - The two of you had a falling out, a fatal difference in opinion that resulted in the more or less permanent parting of ways. Now, time has passed. Maybe you see things a little differently?

3. Torn Apart - Neither of you wanted to be split up, but circumstances beyond your control have forced you apart. Parents, demons from hell, a job change, whatever it was, there was absolutely no stopping it. Just when it seemed like you'd never see them again -- there they are.

4. Lost - You've been wandering on your own for so long, displaced and confused, with no real memory of how you got there. Somehow, through sheer dumb luck or the assistance of a stranger, you've been put back on the right path.

5. Life - Who can really tell when it happened? People just grow differently. At some point, you fell out of touch, missed a few phone calls, whatever it was, life got in the way, and they drifted out of your life almost without your noticing it.

6. You decide - There are other scenes and circumstances that can separate people. Come up with your own or choose one.

[Ten years. Ten years is a long time to split up. Maybe long enough to almost convince Tony that he's better off without orders and the Avengers and the ever-infuriating man named Steve Rogers. He's just better off on his own, effectively decommissioned from the whole superhero gig and cut off from everyone he used to be involved with. Oh, he's been talking to them. They send messages and call occasionally--he even visits Stephen Strange now and then, because the man is essentially on his own track anyway. Life is good. Life is calm.

...Life is fucking boring, and lonely, and he misses them. So pardon Tony when he catches sight of Steve while rounding a corner and all but launches himself into a full sprint to catch up.]

The Hulk was dead. At least, that was the official report. The last battle in space had been a big one and Hulk had gone against 'orders' and taken on the entire spaceship of baddies at the same time. The rest of the Avengers managed to make it away in time but the ship's self destruct had been activated and the last they saw of Hulk, he went up in a fiery ball of flame.

Bruce isn't even sure how he survived. All he knows is he woke up in the middle of the Gobi Desert in a crater half a mile deep. More time had passed than he thought, it was weeks since the incident and even longer before he could find his way back to the Avenger's mansion. Keeping a low profile was working against him, he completely misses the news that the Hulk was dead.

Soon, he's knocking on the front door, feeling a little silly for doing so but Jarvis wasn't letting him in for some reason.
