[ the last four months have been, well, "interesting". new. a few more visits to the doctor solidified natasha's decision well enough, along with a number of fights talks between them concerning their "options", which clint approached with a level head. of course it was well after the fact that the baby book told him this was to be expected with the elevated hormones; where natasha was normally the rational one he found himself having to bow out of discussions or not open his mouth at all when quips seemed even remotely testy. so far it was only working for him a fraction of the time.

informing fury and hill had been the most difficult part. she insisted, as predicted, on informing them alone; sensible considering they weren't a a set, didn't need to offer input on one another's anything as agents or as people. as much as clint would like to change that someday (maybe if the times right), but they had more important things to worry about. with natasha's duties minimized and shifted more to paperwork and logistics there was some huffing from hill but they were able to make this whole situation a bit easier on them while they tried to figure out what they were going to do.

the idea of adoption had come up and it made sense; two special agent/assassin parents weren't exactly well equipped to raise a child and still work. they'd conveniently sidestepped discussing any of that, however, and bought the crib anyway. ]

I though these things came pre-assembled?

[ clint stares at the (fairly well organized) pieces of crib laid out on the floor of the spare bedroom of his apartment. how they've avoided telling the other avengers considering the size of tasha's growing stomach was a mystery to him, and bringing the crib to this apartment is just making it easier for them to dodge that inevitable conversation. ]
