The Hotel Between Worlds: An IC Mingle Meme
The Hotel Between Worlds
You are no longer in your own world. A bellhop hands you a room key and mutters that all luggage has to be carried by residents, company policy. After that, well, the rest is up to you.
The hotel between worlds is an expansive resort in the middle of nothing. There's a pool, a bar, rooms, a lounge, a game room and arcade, a restaurant, and much more.
Characters have been sent there for an enforced vacation from their reality. Time to get drunk, sleep it off, and generally try to find their way around the labyrinthian hallways of the hotel.
This meme is a test run to check interest for a Dressing Room of the same premise.
The dressing room will be geared towards players creating their own starters.

[As much as she is to be reunited with Chloe after all these year, the last few days has been exhausting.
Max nods then, taking a proper look at the room, feeling more intrigued rather than worried.] I totally agree. And if it is my dream, I suggest we enjoy this place before some monster show up, what do you say?
[The room looks particularly nice, better than any hotel she's been before.]

Monsters? The only monsters I know are the Prescotts-- oh, gosh, I shouldn't say that. I don't know for sure if they're bad, it's just a feeling. I shouldn't judge them. I'm sorry.
[She looks extremely sorry. To try and distract herself, she runs a hand over the comforter on the bed. It's a little cool to the touch, and it calms her down.]
Anyway. Yeah, let's just relax for a while. It's been such a hard week for us both. [There's a slight pause before she smiles at Max.] I can't thank you enough for everything. For-- for saving my life.

The moment Kate brings up the Prescotts, Max can't help but feel a hint of anger. She and Chloe may not have found anything concrete yet, but she's more than convinced that Nathan is part of the reason why she was on that roof. Not to mention he drugged Chloe too...]
It's okay Kate, we share the same bad feeling about them. Us and the rest of the town.
[There's still a sense of urgency lingering, but with Kate here, she feels like she can let everything else go for a while. Somehow, she knows that everything in Arcadia Bay will be exactly like the left it when the came here.]
You don't have to thank me, Kate. I wish... I wish I could have helped you sooner.

[But even as she says that, Kate looks down at her hands sadly, frowning.]
But if I say things like that, even if they're the truth, I feel like I'm being like them. I'm supposed to show by example how people should behave.
[She shrugs, then shoots Max a weak smile.]
You were the only person who cared enough to talk to me after that party. You were always there for me right when I needed you. Please don't ever think otherwise.

[Oh, Kate. Such a sweet girl. Max almost feels bad. Almost. She still doesn't know the whole story.]
You are right Kate. We shouldn't stoop to their level. But I'm convinced that family is involved in what happened to you. I wish I can at least find the truth, for you..
[She would want to tell her about what happened with Chloe and Nathan, but decides against it. It's not her story to tell.
Just remembering it fills her with anger, she needs to find out what really happened. For Kate and Chloe.]
People care for you more than you know. It's just hard to show it sometimes. I know a thing or two about that...

[Kate's smile brightens. Max may think she's sweet, but to Kate, it's Max who's like an angel. She'd given her hope when Kate though she'd lost it, and even now, in this weird place, it's Max who keeps Kate from getting anxious.]
You know what? I think... no. I know I want to help you figure out what the Prescotts are up to. What happened to me... it could happen to anyone else at Blackwell. If there's anything I can do to stop that, then I want to do it, and I know we can do it together.

[Max nods, happy to see Kate so determined and energetic. She already made so much progress.]
That's good to hear. Actually... Chloe and I are planning to sneak into Nathan's room to look for clues later. Well, whenever later is in this place.
[She looks around, checking the room again. It looks like a luxurious hotel, simple but provided with lots of comforts.]
But I feel we can just relax for a bit... what do you say we raid the minibar? I also think I saw a kettle somewhere...

Be careful, Max. If you two need anything from me, you let me know, okay? [Kate will definitely be praying for them. Also, praying for her and Max to get out of here, at some point, but for now... Max is right. They need a break.
Ooh, tea! Kate snickers.] This is a good way to start getting ready for our tea tour of Portland.
[As Max looks around for the kettle, Kate goes to the coffeemaker in the room. Right next to it is a little container with all different sorts of tea -- more than any other hotel she's ever been in, actually.] Wow, this place is going all out! I've never seen a hotel that puts lavender tea out. So many herbals...
[This place seems pretty nice after all!]

She nods, their Portland trip felt out of reach in the last few days... actually, it still does, but it feels nice hearing Kate talk about it. They'll definitely have to take a real vacation once this is over.]
And I've never seen hotels with tea available outside of breakfast, and even then it was mostly the generic type.

She grabs a little satchet of chamomile tea and sets it in one of the mugs provided for them.] How was everyone at Blackwell doing, anyway? I heard from pretty much all of them in the hospital, but I really do want to see them again.

Life goes on at Blackwell... but you're in everyone's mind. [She replies, with a little angry undertone in her voice.] Some people are worrying a lot about you. Like Dana for example, or Alyssa. Taylor feels pretty bad too.

She does notice how Max's tone changes a little bit, but Kate won't pry... well, maybe a little. But subtly. She just wants to help. Max is a good friend, and she owes Max her life.] That's really sweet of everyone. I, um... I really miss Alyssa. Stella, too. I hope I get to talk to all of them when I get back.
[She pauses for a moment, tilting her head a little as she observes Max. Should she ask now? No, she'll wait for a better opening, if there is one. If not, then she'll just deal with it.]
