((OOC: If you don't mind cross-medium? Mostly thinking 6 for Barnaby, but I'm open to a great many things re. how to fill in the details.))

Barnaby hasn't been doing well. He can admit that, if only to himself; he never fails to get annoyed when other people notice, and will downplay just how messed up he is, when he acknowledges their concerns at all. It's none of their business.

But when Mr. Maverick notices, and the initial polite brush-off from Barnaby's end doesn't work, Barnaby is forced to face the facts. Mr. Maverick needs him to be mentally stable, without all the stress, the sleepless nights... the nightmares. So when Mr. Maverick says he knows someone who can help Barnaby, Barnaby goes. He owes the man more than he can say, after all... and he could probably use some help, as uncomfortable as it makes him to admit as much.

He doesn't know what kind of job Ms. Adler has, exactly. He never bothered asking. He simply goes to the address he was given, rings the doorbell, and waits. Part of him just wants to get it over with. And part of him, in spite of his best intentions, hopes to find some kind of support.
