0. The Fool: Starting on a journey. Doing something foolish and taking it on faith that it will turn out alright. Whether or not it does is up in the air. This is the beginning of something new. You’re going on a journey and you don’t know what’s out there. But don’t worry, it’ll be fine.

1. The Magician: Tricksters and Shysters, this is their card. It’s also the card that embodies the you can do anything, might as well show the world what you’ve got spirit. What you will and what you desire are all obtainable.

2. The High Priestess: Choice: Two roads diverge and which one do you want to take? One is bad and one good, but it’s hard to tell which is which.

3 The Empress: Abundance and fertility. Be fruitful and multiply. Or at least, go at it.

4. The Emperor: Responsibility. It’s a dirty job but someone’s got to do it.

5. The Hierophant: Seeking guidance. Find that mentor figure. Learn something new or figuring out how to do something out that you couldn’t do before.

13. Death: Rebirth. Not quite reincarnation - though that would be entertaining. Instead you’re restarting. Everything is behind you. That bad relationship? That evil boss? Gone. Start something new. Begin again. The past is the past. Try something different. Or come back as a honey badger.

18. The Moon: Watch motives. Yes. They are out to get you. Insanity darkness and yet genius and creativity. Mad Scientists and Trust No One. It’s not Paranoia if there really is a flesh eating demon waiting to eat you.

[Not for the first time, Amy wonders what on Earth she's doing here. She was directed here for her answers, but this woman... she gives her the creeps.]

They told me you know things.

[ She crosses her ankles under the broom that's keeping her aloft. ]

You must be desperate to come to me for answers.

[She hesitates, then bites her lip and lets it come out in a rush.]

I need to know how to kill a Time Lord.

[ She laughs, coldly and cruelly. ]

And what do you have to offer me, in exchange for such knowledge?

[Not much intimidates Amy anymore, not after decades spent fighting for her life. But this woman makes her feel much, much younger than her years. Like a small child.]

[The witch has already ignited defiance in her, but the thought of her being nothing more than 'entertainment' brings out the old Amy Pond pride as well. She points a finger that's only slightly shaking.]

Look... you. I'm not here to be entertaining. I'm here for a fair trade. There has to be something needs doing around here, yeah? Well, I've had lots of experience being a... a right-hand woman. Done all sorts of things. Traveled through time. Fought off aliens and monsters and hand-bots. I've reset the bloody universe.

[ Medusa just laughs again. ]

How precious. But there's hardly a need for anything that drastic.

Perhaps... you could take care of a problem for me. A little girl who's proven herself a nuisance.

[Part of her is tempted. A very small part. The rest of her is highly suspicious. And still kind of wants to kill him.]

She's fine. She's with Rory - I took them both home before I came back for you. The TARDIS could never hold the paradox if you both went inside at the same time, but as long as you remain separate, she can maintain the timestreams. I told you I could save both of you, and I meant it.

I didn't know if she'd be able to do it. I'm sorry.

[He looks down, clearly feeling the effects of having done this to her, then not even thinking of letting her know what he was doing. They were right, after all - it was all his fault.]

Oh, Amy. I'd never leave you behind. Not if I have any say about it.

[He does always come back. It's not enough, he knows, but what else can he say?]

You really want to... take me with you? More than her?

[Now that she's gotten the aggression out, she's dumbfounded. She really thought the Doctor had chosen her younger self, and the chance for better memories, over her. And now he's come back for her after all.]

She has Rory. All you have is me and your hate, and that's my fault. I want to fix that, Amelia. I want to see you smile, I want to make you laugh again. Please - come with me.

[There's a flash of jealousy in her eyes at that, because she knows that's one thing the Doctor can never give her: her life back, and that includes Rory.]

Not really much for laughing anymore.

[How much more can one man be burdened by his past? How much can one man bear before he is crushed by it, by the weight of it?

The Doctor closes his eyes a moment, shutting himself off a little more at her words and the look in her eyes.]

I know, Amy. And for that I am so, so sorry.

Don't say you're sorry. It won't change anything.

[Except it has. She putters around the maintenance area she converted into a home so many years ago, pretending to tidy up a bit. But really it's just giving her time to think. After a few minutes she turns around abruptly.]

S'pose the least you could do is get me out of here.

Of course. Anything.

[The Doctor just nods, knowing there was nothing he could say, not really, for what he'd done to her. He still didn't know if he'd made the right choice - saving both Amys, instead of letting this one never happen. She'd wanted to live, though, ask for his help - and that was a cry he could never refuse.]

Come on. The TARDIS is just over here.

Yeah. Okay. Just... give me a minute.

[She has nothing she wants to take, but she does have to say goodbye to someone. Amy walks up to the Rory-bot, her only companion for so many years, and lays a hand on its shoulder, bowing her head.

After a moment she reaches behind and powers it down. When she turns around again and marches past the Doctor toward the TARDIS her expression is closed, but her eyes are dry.]
