Thunder rolls. Darkness looms. Tonight is a night when the sinful will gratify their lust and debauchery, the innocent will suffer, and - perhaps - the virtuous will stop them...

... or perhaps not. After all, sometimes the bad guys get the happy ending.

Whether it's on a deserted hilltop, or in an ancient ruin, or sheltered by the mansion of a rich aristocrat in private rooms decorated with velvet and incense, or in a dark cellar lit by glowing candles to the sound of screams, a satanic orgy is about to take place. The Devil will be invoked.

Options

1) PRIEST/PRIESTESS - you're the one in charge, offering the sacrifice, initiating the new participants, summoning the entity of choice, exacting vengeance on the would-be heroes who've just interrupted...

2) PARTICIPANT - you're not in charge (though maybe you think you should be? Perhaps this is the perfect moment for a hostile takeover?) but you're here anyhow, to take part in the orgy and/or bloodshed. All hail whatever!

3) SACRIFICE - you'd probably really rather not be here. But whether you're chained naked on the altar, being dragged in screaming and struggling, or waiting to have your blood shed to summon tonight's special guest, rest assured you play a very special part in the ceremony...

4) DEMONIC VISITOR - they've thrown a party, and you're invited. Maybe you're the honored guest and you're graciously going to accept their offering/s. Or perhaps they're not doing a good enough job, and you've come to punish them all for insufficient dedication to their religion. They shouldn't have called up what they can't put down.

5) HERO/HEROINE BURSTING IN - and you're here to stop this evil and iniquitous ceremony! Whether you're police, private detectives, hunters with shotguns, sailor-suited warriors of justice, angels incognito, wronged vigilantes, or whatever, you're going to save the innocent and punish the guilty. If you succeed, that is. Things may go wrong...

6) FIRST TIME PARTICIPANT - gee, you're kind of getting cold feet about this. The person who invited you along sounded so persuasive, but now there's all this nudity and blood and, well, stuff. Or maybe you were blackmailed into it, or tricked, or someone you love has been threatened and you're just here and going along with things in order to save them? You know where they say good intentions lead to...

7) STRANGER WANDERING IN - "Our car's broken down, but there seems to be something going on over there in the distance. Let's see if they can help us..."

[GHost of Louis here. He's former ex- member of Dschingis Kahn the german pop group very popular in the 1970s and have their hay day then. (Dsghis Khan (known in some countries as Genghis Khan) is to compete originally formed in 1979 in the Euro Vision Song Contest a German pop band in the first place. Steve Bender and Wolfgang Heichel the only Germans were in the group. Louis Hendrik Potgieter was South Africa, Henriette Heichel is Dutch, and Leslie Mandoki and Edina Pop were Hungarian. The group's name was taken from the title of their song "Genghis Khan", which was written and produced by Ralph Siegel with lyrics by Bernd Meinunger. In 1980, their single "Moscow" (the English version of "Moscow") topped the charts in Australia and remained No. 1 for six weeks. There is the success a lot with the Seven Network, the song to do as the title music for his TV coverage of the Summer Olympics in 1980. The Australian single was 7 sleeve output in a stamped channel. In an interview with the Russian TV presenter Alexandra Glotova, the producer of the group Genghis Khan, Heinz Gross, said that the band in the Soviet Union was banned in the 1980s, and has been accused of anti-communism and nationalism. A part of Lydia wasn't sure which was worse. That she was currently bound on the altar or that other than having picked her up as a sacrifice literally everything else this cult had done appeared to be completely wrong. The summoning circle looked more like an oval to her expert eye, and the high priest had trodden on it at the start of the ceremony. Their Latin wasn't just awful, Lydia had managed to disrupt the ceremony twice so far arguing that it was gibberish (ironically successful the time she was lying and not the time she was telling the truth). And they'd kidnapped her needing a virgin - she was actively insulted by that.

None of which had managed to prevent her being shackled to this altar and writhing on it, now gagged and hoping against hope for a rescue.

From his spot of concealment, Stephen was finding the most difficult part of staying hidden was stifling his chuckling. As hapless as this bunch were, it wouldn't help his burgeoning reputation as a hero if he made his entrance tripping over himself with laughter.

They were like something out of a bad comic book, which was probably where they'd found the "rite" this debacle was patterned after. Really, it just seemed like an excuse for rich, bored people to pass an evening and have sex with each other. Strange might've left hem alone if not for the very real abductee chained to their altar.

As the "priest" moved toward the redhead, readying himself to do something genuinely unpleasant to her, Strange moved. The lights in the room dimmed as he gathered real magic into him. Red smoke billowed into the space and Stephen emerged, cloak flowing in his wake. He raised hands glowing with magic and ran his eyes over the assembly.

"Let the girl go, and I might be inclined to leave you to your debauchery."

It's what I was expecting ;)

There were tears running down Lydia's face - but she hadn't given up with her left hand almost reaching the strap of the cuff holding her in place - and the high priest was wearing a belt knife.

Which didn't prevent it being a relief when a hero arrived - although the nasty nigglingpart of her brain that had dealt with magic in the past said that here was someone who actually had a clue what he was doing. Was she going to be out of the frying pan into the fire?

And then the priest actually cackled as he raised the knife, the acolytes trying to melt into corners.

[The only reason Duzell even bothered to heed the summoning was because he was bored and he knew that mortals in one way or another would serve to amuse him. The last group that had called him had not been very careful about it, asking for favours without wanting to give anything in return. They had served as a nice meal for him and his subject.

This group seemed a bit more well prepared he noted as he stepped out of the shadows, red eyes falling on the man bound at the altar. He was handsome, the vampire king could admit to that and his lips slowly moved into a smirk, sharp fangs flashing in the dim light.]

[Duzell wasn't looking at the group of hooded humans even if it was them he spoke to. He kept his gaze fixed on the bound mortal, reaching out with cold, slender fingers and touched his face.]

[ Well, this was certainly not Aoba's idea of a good time. He had just been at the wrong place at the wrong time and been kidnapped by a group of people from a small village he'd passed through earlier that day. And now here he was. Being offered up as a 'gift' to a vampire...

Aoba was tense with fear and dread, long since having stopped trying to get out of his bindings since they appeared to be expertly done. Still, when the vampire approached him and touched him, Aoba flinched and tried to shy away from the vampire's icy cold hand.

Somewhere close to him he could hear one of the people that had brought him there explain that they wanted help dealing with a small group of bandits that had been terrorizing their village. Apparently to them it had been a lucky break that Aoba had passed through just that day because it meant they wouldn't have to sacrifice one of their own. The man who spoke sounded pretty confident, but the others were noticably nervous. Aoba hoped they would all rot in hell. ]
