SECRET relationship;

The fact that you're in a relationship with this person isn't public knowledge. Actually, no one knows about it except for the people involved. Maybe you guys are just private like that; on the other hand, it may be a necessity to keep things a secret from others. Maybe you're both team mates, and others on the team would give you grief, or you're not suppose to be dating, or you're not the type to usually date and you're only testing the waters. Perhaps it's the combination of you two, possibly an odd couple, that would bring some controversy or some teasing. Or, you know, you could not want to deal with friends and relatives being busybodies. Your reasons are your own.

Are you content with stealing moments to be together as a couple? Do you want to make your relationship known and the fact that you can't drives you batty? Remember, there are lots of benefits to dating in secret. You can be yourselves completely, away from prying eyes, and get to know each other better as potential longterm romantic partners. In a way, it's ideal.

(Totally! She's canon but I skip the bloodlust in favor of mental/emotional fallout from the whole pit mess (which she's finally coming out of). So her and Barry sneaking around since the crossover timeline wise? Otherwise you may start!)

Barry had made a few visits to Star City after the incident with Vandal Savage and Kendra and Carter.

... he just didn't always visit Oliver. Most of the visits were a little more secret.

Today he's waiting in the park, a bright smile on his face and a few flowers in hand. Ollie tends to avoid bright, sunny places so they should be okay.

He hopes.

At least he can outrun an arrow?

Thea had these moments to a near art form: nobody knew just how happy Barry has made her in the months since everything with Vandal Savage. She had finally found that little ray of light Felicity had been after her to find ever since she started to come out of pit induced bad brain (and nobody knew Barry's part, nobody knew just how much the late night calls and unplanned visits helped). So today she was in the park scanning the mob and waving the bag of candy she had brought at a surprise. Her smile however was the real thing.

"Good thing a certain someone is out cold right about now." knowing her brother would sleep most of the day.

There were late night phone calls, random text messages and the occasional surprise visit that helped both of them so much. Barry had come to rely on those random messages just as much as Thea had - a reminder that he wasn't alone and that he had something, no, someone to fight for.

He offers over the flowers with a smile and a quick peck on the lips. "Hey. Yeah.. that's probably safest for both of us." Because the Vigilante would kill them both. Twice.

"Candy. That for me?" Barry grins brightly. He burns through a ridiculous amount of calories running between Central City and Thea's, but he's always careful to keep one of Cisco's bricks on hand just in case.

Thea happily accepted Barry's flowers with a quick (but just as sweet) return kiss. "For now ducking is the safer option and one perk about his sleep habits means easy options." she admits. She knew her brother would be the only real roadblock since in the aftermath of her bad brain he had become more protective than usual. She happily passed over the bag of candy,"Inspired by our talk the other night about how bad the bricks taste." she joked.

That part was true: some nights their calls were pure laughter and being able to be silly with tales of team pranks and Cisco's new metahuman nicknames. Some nights were emotional with one on the verge of tears (like when Felicity was shot and Thea basically had a meltdown on the phone). But now it was different: like Barry she knew she was not alone anymore and she had someone to fight even harder for.

"As for bad brain aftermath let's call it work in progress?" having shared the ongoing recovery just 2 nights before during a call.

"Work in progress is always a good start," Barry allows with a smile, curling his arm gently around her waist as they walk. He can hold off on the candy for now. As long as there isn't any speed in his immediate future he won't pass out and frankly? He'd much rather focus on the woman beside him than tearing into some chocolate to supplement his raging metabolism.

Thea had been upset and in tears and it had taken her adamant refusal more than once to keep Barry from simply sprinting over to Star City to check in on her. So they'd talked long into the night and early into the morning before Thea had agreed to lunch that afternoon.

"And hey, as long as I see him coming we're okay?" he offers with another gentle peck to her cheek.

Thea let Barry's arm slip around her waist as they walked. "Work in progress is good, especially at the moment." she mused. She also knew just how bad things had been for Barry, she remembered the middle of the night call after Earth 2 and him being close to tears. She had been close to hopping the late train but Barry had talked her out of it, so they talked till sunrise and met that weekend instead.

She dropped another gentle kiss onto Barry's cheek,"That and younger sister radar, so we'll be ok."

"Take it where we can get it," he agrees, smiling at the kiss and taking a moment to simply turn his face to the sun and bask in the warmth. These were the moments they fought the hardest for, the things that were worth holding onto. He smiles at Thea. "Okay, no more talk about Ollie. Tell me how things are going here."

They turn down a path that will let them walk most of the park, winding up near one of their favorite restaurants. Lunch and warm conversation and plenty of bright sunshine. Exactly what they both needed.

"Exactly, its about holding onto the good when we can snatch it." Thea mused as she soaked up some badly needed sunlight. "No more sibling talk, I have tales of crazy!" as she shared events of the last few weeks ranging from silly gossip to current criminals Team Arrow was going after (in code of course to keep things safe). "And how is Jesse holding up?" her gentle concern for others alive and kicking, she only knew what Barry had shared over the phone mostly. "Plus all systems are go for me to ninja my way to Central City next weekend, took your idea about invoking time for me."

The stories are met with the appropriate chuckles and laughter as well as making note of possible issues that might make their way to Central City. He nods at the question. "She's good. I think Harry's making her a little restless but after everything he went through to get her back," he shrugs.

News of the visit garners an even bigger smile as he swings Thea around in an embrace. "That's great. Maybe we can arrange a night out, take Jesse with us." She can make friends her own age and get more accustomed to life in a different world.

"But she can go back to STAR labs for the night. Or hang out with Iris." Because they are having all of the private time he can manage, damnit.

"Something I totally get given the last few months." Thea observed. She knew just how overprotective people could be after her own brush with darkness. "And that's a great idea! Jesse needs some fun but afterwards we'll ship her off so we can have private time." leaning in to whisper in Barry's ear,"Yes I miss making out on your couch." since given Thea's bad brain recovery they were taking things slow.

Barry was just as happy to spend time with Thea and not rush into things. It was nice that neither of them had to hide. She knew about his speed and wasn't upset if he ever had to break a date due to a crisis in the city.

So making out on the couch? He's totally on board. A hint of blush creeps into his cheeks as he shifts to kiss her cheek. "Then I think we have a weekend getaway to plan."

"I think so too." Thea whispered but she was smiling. "I can easily ninja my way out of dodge for a long weekend with a cover story after all." her brain already spinning with ideas for quick escapes. She was also happy that Barry never freaked when she had to postpone plans when things for nuts in Star City and him getting her life as Speedy.

(Can I add you? These two are so cute already and there is so much material from Felicity being shot to Earth 2 fallout I would love to explore.)

"Good," he smiles. "I think we could both do with a nice weekend away from things." They could stay in, order takeout and just spend time together. Thea still had hard nights and Barry was still coping with Jay's betrayal.

And if something came up? They could figure it out. They always did and that's why they make one another so happy.

"Bad cable movies, loads of takeout and cuddles to name a few?" Thea could not help but to smile now. Things were still nasty mentally and she knew Barry was still reeling with not just Earth 2 fallout but Jay betraying the team. "We need a breather from reality and the crazy, this is just the weekend for it."

"Why I do believe we have a plan," his smile is bright as he kisses her cheek. Zoom, Jay, watching Harry struggle without Jesse and he still can't crack the speed equation - Barry needs at least a day or two to regroup. To think.

"I can grab enough takeout on the way," he offers. Most of his budget is for food these days, and he doesn't want Thea to have to foot the bill just because he eats enough for ten.
