Banner-kun. Congratulations on your last presentations, it was really interesting.
[Yukikaze is of a opinion that good job should be praised, and the teacher hadn't really praised it, as far as he could see - only gave a good mark, which... wasn't the same, in Kaze's opinion. Though, maybe Bruce felt differently? He didn't really know him that well.]
[It's lunchtime, and although there was no meet-up planned between them, wen he shuts his locker, there she'll be, chewing gum and fiddling with pens as per the usual.]
[ It's School Festival time, and Shiro and Caeldori are both on the track team because why the hell not. All the various clubs are competing for some Fire Emblem High School trophy or something, which involves putting various units in various competitions. Asugi, also on their team, got thrown at the cooking competition earlier and won it. Sophie got thrown into an obstacle course race and lost it. Through the various competitions, the track team has come to the point where they Need The Next Win.
The next win? A team scavenger hunt. The team consists of Caeldori and Shiro, and Caeldori is reading their list with a very slight frown. ]
All right...I'm not entirely certain some of these items are appropriate. At least one of them involves breaking and entering into the principal's office.
[ Despite her worries, though, she really wants to win. ]
[An excellent student, not really antisocial, it's just that sometimes you might not see him for a month because he's too busy studying. Excelling at every subject, but seemingly bored, as if he was looking for something else.]
[Will let anybody copy his notes/homework/etc. because he while he likes studying, not everyone has to, in his opinion, so that's fine, too. Knows a lot of students, but is friends only with a few. A bit of a nerd. A foreigner, so his English or whatever language is used in this highschool is still sometimes a bit stilted and awkward sounding.]
The happy call came from none other than Lucy Heartfilia. Smiling and approachable, Lucy knew no boundaries. In fact she was all too happy to break stereotypes and ignore the cliques and factions of the school. She let nothing get her down or stand in her way! Not even her rich daddy with all his money and expectations.
"What are you reading? Anything interesting?" She asked and she leaned over, hands behind her back, peering at his book. A book lover herself, it was in fact a genuine interest.
[ Little violent shit that's at the top of the fencing club and a huge nasty bully, skips classes, yet manages to cruise through all subjects with As and Bs. Best of both worlds. What's not to hate/love, right? ]
[That upperclassman who makes straight A's look effortless. Speaks six languages, is in dance and on the newspaper team, is clearly gunning for valedictorian. Somehow knows all the gossip almost before the involved parties. Mildly terrifying.]
Souji thought he'd be going back to the city after Inaba, but it turns out his parents were needed longer overseas, and they decided to send for him this time - something about having a change of heart and thinking that firsthand exposure to American culture was a good thing after all. So once again he steps into the role of good-mannered transfer student, and thanks to the beaurocracy of the American public school system, he's placed right back in junior year again.
It's different this time. He can speak English well and he understands the language even better, but the words still don't seem to form perfectly in his mouth, and American teens don't seem interested in what he has to say anyway, so he ends up speaking less and less as the days roll by. He keeps to himself, content to fade into the background, keep his head down and wait to move back to Japan. (At least no one's been murdered here ... so far.)
She's different, though. She's brilliant. It's only three weeks into the semester and even though it's too soon for exams and grades aren't posted in the hallways here like they are in Japan, Souji can plainly see this. It's not just that she's smart - there's something magnetic about her that Souji finds himself drawn toward, a natural grace in how she walks through the hallways like they belong to her.
Today is the day he finally works up the nerve to talk to her. Newspaper in hand, friendly smile fixed in place, he waits until she's alone (so he's not interrupting) and makes his approach. "Sorry," he says (for the bother), "this is you, right?" He points to her byline.
[[Punk rock delinquent, head of a small "gang" that does nothing but complicated pranks that never work out. Senior, probably held back. Obnoxious loudmouth, and yet somehow charming and occasionally brilliant.]]
Nick doesn't need a gang; she's scary enough on her own and has earned enough of a reputation at age seventeen as a hotheaded bruiser that kids in this town don't fuck with her.
Usually. Of course, like it's said in that awful movie that probably hasn't actually happened yet, some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill. Rule one is you don't fuck with Nick, but rule two, just slightly behind rule one, is you don't fuck with Nick's truck.
[ Senior, #3 in his class and popular in the 'everybody can get along with me' way. In the jrotc where they call everybody by the state they were born in instead of names; it's stuck as his nickname throughout the school. ]
When winter break had ended, Carolina (who had been in the top rankings for the last four years running) found herself facing unexpected competition, which left her more irritable than usual. It wasn't that she disliked competition, far from it, but there was something off about the new girl.
And it was driving her up the wall, the way she never seemed to quite match up no matter how hard she worked. She slammed the locker room door and shouldered her bag before heading towards the front door after practice to start her run home.
[ A bubbly and social senior who is friends with everyone but particularly popular with girls. She's good at sports and does well in school. She is open about her sexuality and probably runs the school's GSA. ]
[A senior - or can be played at any other year if need be. A dorky nerd with the powers of a jock. He always wears a green jumpsuit and pushes himself in trying to participate in almost every sporting event/club while also trying to work hard at his studies.]
[It was official, being a transfer student sucked. Chocola poked at her food, looking out over the rest of the students filling the cafeteria. They were all sitting and talking and laughing with their friends. What she could tell she was the only one that had a whole table for her own and this had been going on for the whole week in this new school.]
This sucks. Why did we have to move?
[It was mostly muttered to herself as she looked back down at her food. With a deep sigh she started to eat. With any luck this day would not follow the same pattern as the previous days had.]
[Junior with a bad reputation and a worse temper; skips more than he shows up, and usually disrupts class when he's there; if he's gone and not skipping, he probably got suspended for another fight; only apparent friends are a handful of popular kids with whom he can sometimes be spotted, and no one can explain how or why they get along, but he hasn't beaten any of them down yet.
Probably burned the gym down in his freshman year. At least everyone says so, even though no charges were laid. Who carries around a lighter and plays with it so much when they don't smoke, anyway?]
( Mostly already canon, but! Unpopular rich kid that tends to get teased and bullied. He gets into a lot of fights as a result, especially when it comes to defending his smaller nerdy friend(s). Harry is smart but doesn't apply himself - much to the chagrin of his father - and ends up getting mediocre grades as a result. He seems to take a particular interest in art and creative writing, though. Also to the chagrin of his father. )
( Polite and quiet, usually keeps to himself but nice and not standoffish. If you've got troubles with a bully or getting that locker open, he's probably one of the first to help you out regardless if he knows you or not. )
( ooc: is Trunks up for some friendly high school kungfu rivalry? Byeong here is a martial-artist and current champion of the World's Martial Arts Tournament. )
[ Photographer for the school paper! Friendly, carefree, sometimes a little loud when excited too much? Oh, and she can be a bit clumsy with the whole running into this or tripping over that. But no one's perfect! Just don't make fun of her or you might get an earful from her along with some severe pouting.. ]
