Not-So-Innocent Crush Most people have seen a grand friendship strained by romantic inclinations at least once in their life, but when it comes to you, they can feel at ease. No one in the world would expect anything of that sort coming from your end. In their eyes, your age, personality type, job, duty, position, or even your species renders your abilities to feel romantic love null and void. And there's no way you could have any feelings towards them! If there is, it has to be a little crush. Completely innocent! ...except not. You are crushing, you may even love them, but most importantly, your thoughts toward them are anything but innocent. Actually, when it comes to them, your mind is absolutely filthy. Does their inability to view you as a sexual or romantic non-entity? If there's an age difference, do you feel guilty? A species difference, do you feel like a traitor? Maybe it best to keep how you really view the locked neatly inside - - except when everything comes to light, it's going to be messy. They're going to hate you...but what if they don't? What if your ideas are quite exciting, instead? Of course, things will probably be messy then, too. This meme doesn't have to be a smut meme. It can be fluffy, romantic, awkward, cracky, angsty, gen (...somehow) or, yes, even smut. Just state in your preferences what you'd, well, prefer. [ Matt barely registers that someone had slammed the front door of the apartment, the hideout, as his attention is fixated on the gaming device held firmly in hands. The current boss battle is much too enrapturing for his mind to be sharp, for him to truly care about the world outside of the screen he's peering down at. Though, the heavy steps of boots thumping against the floor elicit green eyes to flicker. There's just enough self preservation within for him to vaguely care that there could be an intruder. Not that he reaches for his gun, haphazardly thrown aside, or prepares for any sort of altercation. No, he remains seated on the couch, cross-legged and gazing at the entrance of the room.

When it's Mello that storms in, there's a ghost of a smile curling against Matt's lips. ]

Cool. You're alive. [ He says it so casually as if the blonde's demise is an expected occurrence, and Matt has already resigned himself to accepting it. But it's a merely a joke. After all, life would be much too dull without the other, and his company is enjoyed, preferred above any other person Matt has met. He likes Mello, truly, even with the attitude and the never ending prospect of danger that trails behind him. It's what makes him exciting, enticing. ]

Mello had always been a contentious little brat and puberty had done him no favors. Now he was a violent, impulsive, full-size brat. For years now he had been suffering from testosterone poisoning that only been increasing in severity over time. Despite the ever present possibility that he would explode without warning, Mello was certainly popular enough. He was young and immortal, a born leader, brave well past the point of stupidity, with boundless energy and a keen appreciation for fun and excitement of all kinds. No one could keep up with him, but anyone with a strong enough sense of adventure might be tempted to give it a try.

Only one person was consistently able to exert a calming influence on Mello. That would be Matt, the reigning champion of slackitude. If left alone he might be mistaken for a houseplant, but Mello refused to leave him alone. As far as Mello was concerned, the terminally laid-back video game addict was going to have an exciting life, even if Mello had to drag him around and set him down in the middle of whatever cool stuff Mello felt like stirring up at the time. This time the blond had managed to go out for groceries and come back with a dripping scalp wound, a torn leather sleeve, and a limp. But he did have the groceries, and was doggedly marching them to the kitchenette. Like hell Mello was going after something and giving up before it was his, even if it was something trivial.

[ There's a snort at that, and he withdraws himself from inquiring on just who's fault that is with overly obvious sarcastic undertones. It could result in a fist being thrown in his direction or, at the very least, a colorful array of swears paired with a glare that could freeze hell over. Mello got the groceries (albeit the produce may have some added blood splatter), so he'll refrain from being an ass. Besides, if there's an interesting story behind it, or if it's something that particularly pissed Mello off more than usual, he'll be sure to complain about it. ]

That sucks. [ He says casually while pausing his game and placing it aside. He cocks his head a bit when he looks at Mello, observing now the battle wounds acquired from what should have been a routine visit to the market without any issues. ] Take a seat, Mel. [ You're hurt. Idiot. ] You're going to bleed all over everything, and it'll be gross.

Quentin lets himself be pulled right out the smashed window of Grunnings Hunnsucker Swann with only a heartbeat of hesitation. He hasn't used magic in months, has nothing on the tip of his tongue that'll let him fly, so just takes Eliot's hand and steps blindly into the swell of his magic, trusting the three of them to have him, to get him out of there.

He doesn't ask where they're going, just trusts Eliot to lead the way.

The second Quentin touches his hand, Eliot knows they've done the right thing, tracking him down. Just look at that office. That luxurious, well-appointed office with a spectacular view of the city. A good thing they'd come along when they had, before normal life swallowed him whole and murdered him in cold blood. He's halfway to suicidal, anyway, or he must be, Eliot thinks, trusting him to not let Quentin drop like a stone. But he wouldn't. He couldn't. Instead, he pulls Quentin inside the sphere of influence his antigrav spell is exerting (the wings are mostly for show), holding him tight. Mostly, it's too windy to talk, but he can't resist at least one quip, voice chiding and careless to hide any trace of sentiment.

"White hair, Q, really? Bit cliche, don't you think?"
