Haunted House Meme

Everyone knows to stay away from the large empty house on the hill. It’s haunted. But maybe you’re seeking a thrill, or maybe you’re searching for something lost or locked away. Maybe you are the ghost haunting the old building. Maybe your car has stalled, and the house on the hill is the only building for miles. But is it empty, or is there something waiting?

Leave a comment with your character's name, fandom, any preferences you have, and what brought your character to this haunted location.

The Haunting
A. Ghosts. Creepy, tragic, and possibly violent, they’ve got unfinished business in this world and you’re the unsuspecting victims who have just become the targets for their wrath.
B. Creatures. Unearthly monsters summoned from a hell-dimension or mutations created by a mad scientist, this is their house now, and they are fascinated and hungry.
C. The People in the Walls. Someone—or several someones—have been living in this house. They’re no longer human anymore, and their sanity has been frayed to the very edge. They’ve been surviving on mice and bats until now. But now you're here, and don't you look delicious?
D. The House Itself. Maybe it was built evil, or maybe it became evil after the horrible deeds that were committed in it. The very walls of the house are soaked with blood, and the house is angry, and hungry. It has you now, and it doesn’t plan to let you out.
E. The Cabin in the Woods Experiment. None of this is natural phenomena. You don’t know it yet, but you’re part of a larger experiment. You’re the rats in the maze, and the scientists are observing—and toying with—your every move.
F. Choose your own horror movie plot!

[They sort of suspect that the kids who insisted there were haunted parts of the school they're in (not Toriel's yet, she's still setting hers up) were just trying to freak them out. As if that'd work. But at least one of the younger kids genuinely did seem to be caught up in it and afraid.]

[So now they've snuck into the school at sunset on a Friday night, loosely holding a flashlight, preparing to try to find the 'ghosts'. Even if there does turn out to be something, Frisk's certain they can make friends with them.]

[There's a rumour currently floating around school that people keep whispering about; a haunted mansion that's right on the edge of town, beyond even the bus routes that are supposed to fill in the areas not covered by the railway. It's an old mansion (of course it'd be old, Josuke thinks, probably filled with spiderwebs and dust too, ugh gross), though reports of the paranormal didn't start until very recently. Possibly because it's about to get bulldozed, but it's hard to get the job done when your equipment always seems to mysteriously start malfunctioning when it gets close enough to the building.

So before it gets remotely detonated (the solution the town hall decided to go with), Josuke figures he ought to see the place with his own two eyes. He wasn't scared on the trip to the mansion, but standing in front of it now, it's actually quite uh... atmospheric.]

So this is it, huh?

[Veering a little ways off haunted "house" but. Technically anywhere Rose goes is haunted by default.]

Late Night, Present Day, At a Rest Stop and Roadhouse in Colorado.

Rose isn't sure why the Ghost Roads lead her here, but something feels ominous. Like the fact that right as she walks in, someone puts one of "her" songs on the jukebox. Jukeboxes only seem to be the only place those songs appear. Funny, that.

She was pretty as a picture of a summer's day,

Here's a bit of advice, boy, take it as you will:

At least it was one of the more... sympathetic takes on The Phantom Prom Date.

She's affected her usual Rest Stop look. Flannel, jeans, a beatup tank top and well-worn hiking boots, and just enough makeup to soften the overall "tough" look her clothing implies. Coming in from the snow in not nearly enough layers to possibly keep her warm draws some attention. With a sad little shiver, she does her best to look harmless, cold, and a little pathetic. Anything for a coat and a cheeseburger.

[ it was, in theory, just like any other job.

kaito had sent out the usual notice like he always does. yet, for some reason, the owner of the house he was planning to rob did not notify the police. it was extremely unusual; in fact, kaito sent a second one in the chance that his original message was never received. but, no, it turned out that the soon to be victim was overly confident or something.

but then he did some digging, and it turned out the large mansion had a history connected to it. there were various claims of hauntings, and while he didn't really believe any of them, there was a tiny part of his brain that said it could be true. he had seen some weird shit on the island. some weird, weird shit. perhaps the owner of the house and jewel thought that the ghostly rumors would scare kaito away?

yeah... no.

and so, he and tear were now at the house, hidden in a small sea of trees that surrounded it. he was surprised that tear agreed to come along considering her, uh, thing with ghosts. he was thankful she came though. without any detectives or police, this heist was bound to be boring without her along. ]
