[ it was bound to happen at some point. scavenging abandoned neighborhoods only put them at a greater risk of running into horsemen, other vampires, or worse. they're lucky that this time, injuries are minimal. but when you're swinging around swords, there's always the chance that someone aside from the enemy might get cut. he can tell instantly that someone is injured as the scent of blood hits the air, making hunger threaten to rise in his chest. he pushes it down because right now, they need to figure out who is injured and how to patch that person up.

he already knows who it is, of course. the smell is unique and one he knows by heart. hastily turning and sheathing his sword, he approaches yuu, concern painted across his features. he can hear the others calling out, but his focus is solely on yuu. he half expects yuu to protest as he approaches, but if he does, he'll ignore it. yuu's safety is paramount right now. enough to warrant scooping him up in a bridal carry before looking yuu over. ]

Where is it, Yuu-chan?

[ his voice is stern, brokering no argument. and after a quick shout to shinoa that they'll need first aid supplies, he makes his way toward the first house he senses to be empty.

meanwhile, his heart is hammering in his chest. yuu doesn't look like he's dying, but the scent of blood is overwhelming, meaning it must be a fairly substantial cut. not having taken the time to see where, he has no idea if yuu has managed to cut an artery or a major vein. he certainly hopes not. stopping the blood would prove difficult and the smell would likely force him away from yuu when all he wants is to be by his side. but it's better to stay back and let the others care for yuu than to let bloodlust get the best of him. ]

[The number of people Raven can tolerate hanging around her workshop as she works with a deadline to finish the Rover on time for...fuck cares what Abby wants it, she can count them on the fingers of one hand. And still be left with a spare finger or two, depending on the day.

Gina, actually, is among them. She doesn't knock things around, she's not too big for the small space of her 'shop, and she doesn't look like she'd rather take a hug than pass her the screwdriver, so it all works well. And there's the fact that Gina is a good listener, even when Raven speaks in grunts and glares and huffs and curses. Might be a professional hazard, or something of the sort.

In any case, she doesn't end up keeping Raven company often, but when she does -- Raven likes it. What she doesn't like is causing indirect harm; never has, in spite of what her history with bomb-making tells you. So when it happens, it's completely unintentional.

The waterfall was no escape. The larger than normal splash had him looking up from his vigil expecting Kali's kitten to return and take another piece of him with her. A human shape floated up from the bottom of the pool and setting aside the air rifle, Jack waded in to pull it out. If dead, it seemed he would get a coat out of the deal, eager to root through the pockets. Turning the body over, he snorted at the face. Holmes. The man was never truly dead, just like James. Pulled the sodden Holmes out of the water, rolling him to the side to aid in the coughing out of inhaled liquid.

Picked up the rifle again, keeping guard. At least with Holmes in his current state, the tiger would stop to have a nosh, pausing to make a decent target. If Holmes recovered, then four eyes were better than two, the man being tolerable shot.

Someone accidentally (or deliberately) stepped on a Dragon Vein, the river flooded, a bunch of Faceless showed up out of nowhere to try to gnaw on faces, the situation grew direr than it already had been, Corrin didn't make up their mind before things happened so that custody battle is still unresolved, and a whole bunch of contrived circumstances led to Takumi and Elise being in the middle of nowhere by themselves.]
