[It might take a bit of AU'ing, but care for an original fantasy setting crown prince and knight? As far as Alric's setting, the dynasty before the one started by Alric's father had plenty of corruption and generally bad practices, so they could definitely be working together to clean up problems around the Empire in a similar fashion to ToV relating to the abuse of magic/spirits/etc. She'd probably fit in pretty well with the dark-haired elves in his setting, too.
