(Hurt/Comfort) S M U T

hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. (Injuries happen in volleyball, even when you're careful. But especially when you're reckless. Nishinoya Yuu is a great many things on the court, up to and including a genius libero, but at his core, he is incredibly reckless.

Volleyball happens fast, but Asahi watches Noya crumble in slow motion. He's done Rolling Thunder hundreds of times, but he's never quite fallen into it that way, never with his leg tucked into his chest, and Asahi's eyes zero in on the way his ankle bends under his own weight. Noya comes out of the roll as quickly as he falls into it, and the ball is sent cleanly to the setter, but if Asahi's supposed to spike it-)

Nishinoya!

(A whistle blows harshly, ringing in Asahi's ears, but he's only dimly aware of that. Or the fact that he's on his knees by his libero's side, his hands hovering inches from Noya's shoulders.)

Well. That was a delight.

(He can't remember the last time he's spoken something quite so dryly. The Caribbeans were supposed to be a luxurious hot spot, weren't they? He felt properly gypped here. Worse yet, his trousers were covered in blood. Worse than that- Arthur was covered in blood. It was always a bad day when Arthur was covered in blood. Eames felt partly responsible, though he said nothing about it. Their job entailed this level of danger- for everyone. Arthur was no exception. The job had technically gone fine but the Job also had a lot of body guards. They'd gotten what they needed but getting out was another story entirely.

Eames knew the Caribbeans pretty well, thankfully. Particularly the area they'd come to resort in. Naturally they couldn't head back to the hotel they'd been staying at. So he took them off, leading Arthur onward until they wound up in one of those remarkably cozy beach cabins for honeymooning couples. It was a nice spot. Great view of the ocean. More importantly it was on entirely private property. Eames may or may not already have the place in his name but could he really be blamed for wanting to take a mini vacation with himself after a job? No, he didn't think so. In any case, all of that was blown to shit as Arthur bled on the lovely tile floors in the bathroom.)

Right.

(He sighed in exasperation. Except, you know, there was actually some worry present on the lines of his face. The way his mouth couldn't quite form a smile and the tension laid into his shoulders. It was just an arm shot, sure, but.

He ignored the tug in his gut and clapped his hands together.)

Take off your shirt. Might as well get you fixed up.

(He ignores his own shaky hands, focusing on taking his own jacket off and rolling his sleeves up. He proceeds to his bag which holds a perfectly competent medical kit.)
