Your world is different. It's darker and edgier. There is angst at every turn, the protagonist is constantly struggling, questioning the darker aspects of humanity.
Rules:
1. Post your character. Give a synopsis of this new, depressing world your character lives in. Include any additional things your character is dealing with.
2. Tag around, be depressing, fight things.
3. Profit!

Raphael | TMNT Mirage Canon
[Holy fuck, let's screw your childhood. Not only did the turtles grow old, turn thirty -- their master and sensei, Splinter died of natural causes. No great battle; old fucking age took down the greatest ninja master of the modern age. He knew it was coming, accepted it like a man and left his four sons to find their own path.
Leonardo became a master in his own right, wandering the world with his wife, the superheroine Radical. Michelangelo pursues the mother of his children, an alien princess, among the Triceatons in space. Donatello has closed himself off and bured himself in technology after a terrible falling out with the Jones family that lead to an injury he may never recover from. As the earth chugs away with most people fleeing it en masse and the polar ice caps melting, one turtle remains, angry and refusing to abandon the planet and people he knew:
He's got one fucking eye, a bad attitude, and he's pushing forty now. It's nearly 2025, and Raphael remains true to his love of New York, even if the merging of human and alien render her more like the set of Blade Runner than any recognizable New York. Human citizens, cyborgs, ninja, aliens-- they're all here, and they all hate each other.]
[How does that go? The more things change, the more they stay the same...]
Kariya Masaki | Inazuma Eleven GO!
[After defeating Genesis, the Raimon Eleven returned home, only to be ambushed by their former teammates, Kenzaki Ryuuichi, and the last remnants of the Aliea Meteorite. They faced off against the Dark Emperors...and were crushed. The powers of friendship and sakka and unending resolve didn't prevail. The Dark Emperors soundly defeated Endou Mamoru and his remaining friends in one last match, from which the losing team, injured and demoralized, couldn't hope to recover.]
[Then they took over Japan. The Dark Emperors freed the former Aliea Academy teams, recovered the Meteorite, and rapidly expanded their numbers. Many former players for Aliea joined them, along with numerous youths from around the country. Even some of Raimon's team-members defected, seeing no alternative but to join their one-time school-mates. Kenzaki lacked the scruples Kira had over direct displays of force, and, wielding Aliea's advanced technology, the Emperors' campaign of destruction soon toppled the nation's government.
Kenzaki Ryuuichi disappeared shortly afterwards, under mysterious circumstances.]
[From that date, the Emperors and their re-formed Aliea Academy have held Japan for a decade. Their control is unstable but faces no serious challenge. Internationally, they have received support from a powerful and influential businessman known as Garshield; domestically, they recruit classes of the most talented young players to join their ranks. Sakka has become a carefully controlled means of maintaining their power.
A small, underground resistance remains. Some say it's led by a man named Endou. Some say "Mamoru," others "Daisuke." Others say the rebellion is headed by a former ally of the Academy named Kageyama.]
[Kariya Masaki is not a member of the resistance. He's one of Aliea's own, having entered their service well before the normal recruiting age, when he was abandoned by his parents. He was picked out specially by Kira Hiroto, coach of Aliea's Genesis Squad, for tutoring in the sport. He and several other students are stationed at Raimon Jr. High, monitoring activities in the area. Kariya is one of few Aliea recruits equipped with a fragment of the Meteorite -- which is reputed to render him highly volatile and quick-tempered.]

[This isn't the first time he's been approached by their organization. He's not allied with the resistance, simply because most his team wants no part in the whole affair. And keeping their thoughts in mind like a good captain should, Taiyou held that this is the way it should stay. But Taiyou's skills have made him fairly famous, and to be blunt it's causing him more trouble than good.
He doesn't want this invite. To use soccer to control others is... wrong.
And while's too polite to say it, he would really like it if Kariya left him be; just like the others that showed themselves before him.]

Standing ahead of three other members from his Aliea squad, he bounces one of the Academy's dark balls -- black and green -- atop one knee while sizing Taiyou up. A fragment of meteorite glints at his neck over his full-body uniform. He looks to be enjoying this.
It's always nice making new friends.]
Amemiya-kun, just because we say it nicely doesn't mean we're asking. Aliea Academy wants you to begin training with us. You should be proud; it's a big opportunity.

Scamming? No problem, he could do that without batting an eye. Breaking and entering? Sure, just give him enough time to prep. Retrieval? You got it... for the proper price, of course.
Hayabusa wasn't actually allied with the Academy or with the resistance; he was something of a thief for hire. He had his own morals too, a personal code of honor that cared little for the ways of soccer. He's actually been working for the resistance however, more often than not, and for less and less. He's been seeing what the Academy's been doing and he doesn't like it. He knew soccer was a big deal, but... this was just too much. Weren't sports about having fun?
... Well, that didn't matter. Right now, Hayabusa had slipped his way into the base and was currently digging through files. The moment he heard movement in the dark room, he immediately killed the beam from the mini-flashlight in his hand.]
