[The 'president' is sitting in a chair, looking these guys over. He seemed professional, but has a cold and dangerous look to him. One he had carefully cultivated over the years. The men were quite a bit older than Qiang. The young man was nervous about bringing in older people, but he had gotten in over his head. The group he'd made as a young teen to protect himself and his friends had developed into a gang in high school, and as they tried to become legitimate and help the community, they found themselves also spiraling down into the darker corners of the world of crime.

[ The day was warm and bright, the sky blue and the sun shining. Outside the manor, one could only hear the faint rustling of the trees, stirred by the breeze, and the birds singing softly in the air.

It felt almost like the calm before the storm.

Peggy Carter stood in front of the floor mirror in her room, carefully inspecting her attire for lunch today. It was a meeting with another group, a family as some would call it, and she was admittedly nervous. Not that she would ever show it, of course. This boss, she knew, had wanted her out of the picture for a very long time, having tried to off her more than just once or twice, so when she got an invitation to meet him, and possibly let go of old grievances and strike an alliance, she was no fool. She knew that most likely, it would be a trap.

But she couldn't afford to say no, either, and she would be dead before she showed to be afraid of these other gangs, these men who thought that a woman had no business even being part of the life of organised crime, let alone be the head of her own family. They loathed Peggy for that - not only for being the boss of the Howling Commandos, but for being actually good at it, for being valued and appreciated by her men, for not being a weak and foolish excuse, someone that they could just point and laugh at, dismiss as if she were of no relevance whatsoever.

Suited her just fine, honestly. There was no greater satisfaction than seeing them all run around in circles, trying to take her out, only to fail time and again, and her rising even higher. Not that she was going to let that power get to her head too much. She knew all too well how pride went before the fall, and oh how great that fall could be, the higher one went.

She had a purpose here. The police may call her a criminal, but she had started this for a good cause, a greater good. In part inspired by the kindest, strongest and most virtuous man she had ever met, fuelled by his death too, and the rest... well, the rest it was just her spirit, stubborn, unyielding, ever unwilling to give up, or give in. And if those that ought to be the authorities protecting the innocent did close to nothing to help the city and those living in it, then she would.

If that involved shooting or sinking some of the foulest people in this city along the way, then so be it.

Fixing her black dress one last time, she slipped on a long dark red coat and a hat, grabbing her purse, in it the comforting weight of her fully loaded PPK/S, before she made her way downstairs, where she expected to find Daniel waiting for her. A mystery of sorts to her, that man was - he'd shown up nearly out of nowhere, and he had an odd air about him. She suspected him immediately, but she was also curious as to what hid beneath the surface. She'd allowed him to join them at first, only to see what would happen, what he would do, keeping always a very close eye on him, and even asking Jim to follow him around every so often. But the fact was that he had proven time and again only to be loyal to her, even more so as time went on, and her trust for him had grown, slow but steadily, to a point where she would easily consider him her right hand. ]
