Well, you've really done it now. You're in a mental institution. Maybe it's a modern facility with a therapy garden, compassionate staff members, and a warm environment meant to help nurse people back to health, or maybe it's a glorified dungeon where the government shoves people they don't want to deal with and patients are abused by staff. Regardless of what it is, you're there, and it doesn't look like they're planning on letting you out any time soon.

Maybe you're actually not supposed to be there and you're trying to arrange for your release. Maybe you actually are meant to be there and you're struggling with your illness. Maybe you're not a patient at all and you're just there to visit or earn your paycheck. It's up to you.

*He has to get out. He MUST get out. It's been close to a week and a half already and the drums are turning his brain to mush. He wonders vaguely how the guards would taste, then whimpers as the drums pound harder at the thought.

*He prays to a thousand deities he's never trusted that his Doctor will get him out soon.*

[The Doctor had used the psychic paper and his Ph.D. in medicine to get a job at the asylum, but he hadn't yet been able to approach the Master. That was tonight, when he would slip something in the coffee that would help the guards, the orderlies, and the other doctors to go to sleep.

The Master might already know he's here, though - there had been a couple incidents that had made him the talk of the asylum, and he was certainly close enough to smell, although how well the Master could smell over the stench of this place was uncertain at best.

Stranger still for the Whittemore kid, who seems to have taken Derek's appreciation for privacy and dark family past for something it really, really isn't. Derek almost feels bad for reporting Jackson, but the stalking and the accusations (werewolves, seriously?) were difficult to laugh off towards the end of things.

It wasn't advised by the doctors, but Derek's here anyway, uncomfortable but determined. ]

After all, while he couldn't chase serial killers, he can at least try to help people pick up their pieces.

So a tall, lanky, young man walks to Quinn, shoving his hands in his pockets, and gives her a tentative smile.] H-hey there. [His voice is soft, careful. His mental illness isn't readily apparent, especially since he takes his medication every day. He sits across from her, pulling his hands from his pockets so he can fidget with them on his lap. His palms are bandaged.] You're, uh, you're new. Right?

Or, well, no one from his day-to-day life, that is. To his knowledge. Which is spotty, he'll admit.

Reid had started acting strangely a while ago. He had gotten moody and difficult to get along with, getting more and more suspicious of his friends and family. Yesterday, he didn't show up for work. He didn't show up because he was busy giving the voices a way to get out of his body; he made cuts they could escape through. His neighbor noticed his bloody hands and called the police.

He's been committed. The doctors don't believe him when he says he's an FBI agent. He hasn't been able to contact anyone--not that he'd want to. They're out to get him, aren't they? They're going to find him. He knows they will. And then they'll hurt him.

He doesn't really care anymore.

Reid is curled up in a chair by the window, looking out at the garden outside. His hands, ankles, and wrists are bound in bandages. He refuses to take the medicine they offer.

All he does is quietly whisper a conversation with the voices.

They're coming for you, Spencer. They're coming for you.]

Stop talking to me.

[Maria carries a clipboard under her free arm, and there's a staff ID badge clipped to her sweater, but she lacks the brisk stride and the crisp efficiency most of the staff here possess.

She keeps her distance for a bit, just watching him, before speaking up quietly.]

[Someone is, yes. The nosy reporter you used to kidnap makes frequent visits -- mainly to conduct some interviews when he feels like giving them (which, she finds, is about fifty percent of the time. Either he's eager to make himself look as fabulous as possible or he refuses to talk), and is on her way in now, notebook in hand, expression grim.

His condition is deteriorating, instead of 'getting better', and she's not okay with this. At all.

[Red wasn't dangerous. He didn't hallucinate, didn't hear voices, didn't try to hurt himself or others. He simply didn't speak a word. Doctors had done tests upon tests and determined it had nothing to do with his vocal chords. The mutism was completely psychological.

Maybe it was dealing with a criminal organization at such a young age, but whatever the case was, it was thought best for him that he go somewhere he could get help. There wasn't much progress, but at least they had given him a pad of paper to write down what he couldn't communicate through gestures. A lot of the paper was covered with doodles as well, and Red could often be found in the secluded corners of the asylum, drawing away.]

[He's not sure how long he's been trapped here. A day? A week? A year? It feels like a lifetime to him in this padded, white room.

They tell him that everything -- the TARDIS, Gallifrey, his eleven past lives -- isn't true. That it's all a lie. One he made up after the tragic death of his family. He denies it, of course -- what else? -- stating that what they're saying is the lie. They nod at that, with false smiles and empty reassurances. Oh that just infuriates him, so he heatedly yells at them to check the cupboard for a blue police box, to check his pockets for his sonic screwdriver, to listen for his two heartbeats.

They don't believe him, of course, saying that he had convinced himself that it was the truth. That he's still recovering from the nervous breakdown, but he'd see the truth soon enough and then he can finally heal (which is their way of saying that he's a daft old man "so shut up and allow us to half-ass our jobs"). Though he's a pacifist, he almost attacks one of the orderlies for that little comment.

That's how he ends up in this room.

Well... at least, he thinks it is. Honestly, he's not entirely sure how long ago that session was, but for whatever he did to end up here, they damn well deserved it. He stopped yelling some time ago and, currently, he's sitting against a wall, mind slowly whirling with dim activity. There's a chance, a real possibility they gave him medication.

Not a hundred percent sure on that one. He'll get back to you, Alex Trebek.

He's dressed in white scrubs (not his customary tweed jacket, bowtie, and stupid hat), he's got bags under his eyes, and he's feeling every one of the thousand plus years he may or may not have lived. He gives an strange effect of being a child, lost in a strange town, without adult care. Letting out a determined, irritated huff, he wills his mind to fight back the medication, to not give in to this utter nonsense. But, he can feel his eyelids drooping and he knows that any minute now he'll be off to dreamland with rainbow farting unicorns.

He can't help but bark out a soft, bitter laugh at his predicament. Perhaps his greatest enemy isn't the Daleks or Cyberman or his own kind; perhaps his greatest enemy is the very species he's sworn to protect. Homo sapiens sapiens, or, humans; the very species that he will and has given his life for.

He sighs. There's an odd silence everywhere, even in the other rooms; it's as if the whole world had tactfully turned away to avoid seeing him die. But, this is worse than death; at least there's ugliness is death. This is even worse than being gobbled up by the tear in time and space. This is like... watching a stature, after centuries of weather, erosion, and turmoil, falling to pieces.

He begins to weep. Not for anyone or anything. He wants what he was used to; he wants the old world back.]

[Having an outside power messing with your head, controlling you, really takes its toll after a while. Kain has never been the same mentally since it happened. They're keeping him here now, because he's too much of a danger to himself and others if he's allowed free. He's drugged up most of the time, but at the moment he's strapped down to the bed in restraints.]

This was where Dionysus belonged. At least, that was what the doctors kept claiming. A madman. A drunkard. Just another one of those lunatics who believed himself a God. Textbook issues, they told him, while they poured wine down his throat that was not wine at all. Loaded with sedatives and hallucinogens, that in an earlier time of the world, would have had little affect on the God of Wine and Madness.

Here, though, things were different. His powers weak, his mind lost and confused, distracted, unfocused. He would drag tendrils of vines through the cracks in the floor only to find them missing hours later. Just hallucinating. Creating a reality of power, where his actions were acceptable and normal, to avoid dealing with the truth.

At least, that was what the doctors kept saying.

Dionysus was beginning to believe it.

There's the noise of the lock opening and, a moment later, the smiling face of the new orderly named 'Steve' pops around the door. So new, in fact, that he probably wasn't even meant to be here. Especially with a patient as high care as the doctors said Dionysus was.

He swings the keys around on his finger as he walks into the small space, clicking the door behind him. "Good morning, sunshine. And how are we doing today?"

Probably shit awful. The psychiatric ward Loch - Steve had been in as a teenager had left him on edge about hospitals for the rest of his life. There was something invasive about the smell of anti-bacterial wash and he hadn't been able to get a good night's sleep during his time here.

[When an angel loses their mojo, it is not generally a wise decision to go to an office of the law, asking to get in to see the body of the latest supernatural attack, because said angel is an Angel of the Lord and needs to know what the demons were up to when they got their smokey black hands on those souls.

It is an especially poor idea to not realize that in the vulnerable state of a human, powerless and hungry and apparently quite capable of registering pain, what a taser is, and what being hit by one will do.

And more than anything. It is a terrible idea to be unconscious in a town with a demonic asylum working as a feeding ground for several manner of creatures and a brewery of demon vessels. Troubled minds, easily molded and possessed or concocted to be fed off of by whatever manner of creature these demons have aligned themselves with.

He's been here a long time, and nothing feels real anymore. Everything is bright, white, and monotonous. He used to fight, really fight, but it feels like months and it's just going through the motions when he refuses to take his pills and continues to insist he isn't supposed to be here.

It's adding insult to injury. He isn't even worth killing. He's out of the way here, a good boy, trapped and useless and feeling so helpless it makes feel him physically ill, and all he can do is watch the news on the television whenever he's allowed out into the common room. He used to try escaping; they drugged him so that he could barely move for a week, and every subsequent attempt had only proved that if he really wanted to stay sane despite this place, he had no choice but to behave. He had no choice but to behave and watch the news and read the newspaper and sit trapped inside this sickeningly white prison while Kira took over the world and he was told he was crazy for being against it.
