hurt/comfort smut; meme Bruised. Beaten. Stabbed. Sapped of energy. Tricked. Mentally played and abused. Perhaps you've even seen your home world destroyed, depending on how Homestuck you are. Any way you slice it, characters go through a lot of crap. There's nothing wrong with wanting to see them get pampered and taken care of when they're ailing. In canon, they may not have someone who can provide them with care when they're injured, support and love when they're sick, and physical intimacy all around. In this post, AU or other scenarios can provide them with a caretaking partner of their very own (or, maybe, someone to take care of, if the reverse is their preference). So, for once, weary traveler, you don't have to carry that weight all by yourself.

to bring you out of the darkness; The injury may not be a temporary physical or mental one, however. Some characters suffer more deeply, even if they don't know it. Darkness covers their hearts, they're withdrawn, insecure, angry, or lonely. They need someone to reach out to them and show them unconditional love. This post can provide that, too. Whether it be the cliche and shameless "changed by your love" trope or something more subtle like getting someone to open up, the characters here can offer that and more. [ It's not a triumphant return. They brokered peace, but not without bloodshed. That seems to be how anything on the ground gets done, in a wash of blood and sometimes at the cost of one life or more. But they're coming back with a plan, with allies, and Raven's alive, so technically they can call this a success.

It doesn't feel like one though, not when Bellamy thinks of the expression on Clarke's face when she'd agreed to this maneuver. That sort of shuttered, closed off look hadn't sat right on Clarke, but Bellamy doesn't have time to figure out what to do with it. He has to assemble grounder attire, and he has to prepare to walk into Mount Weather; saving their people has to come first. He's sitting with a cup of something alcoholic and unnamed, burning the back of his throat as he works on clumsily stitching the sleeve on one of Lincoln's borrowed tunics. ]

[Angeal knows a lot about pain. He's been in skirmishes and wars, watched men under his command fall on the battlefield, had to be the one that brings the bad news to others. The thing that had always driven him to keep going even in the worst of situations was that he always believed what he was doing was right.

But so many years ago, that had all fallen apart. It seemed like another lifetime since then, the day he should have died by Zack's hand, but yet here Angeal is. Gazing at the stars as the night brings about a chill and sends those in Edge back inside to their warm homes.

Sitting on the rooftop of the bar is nice, and it gives him a wide view of the world around him. He's enjoying himself even in a meloncoly mood and when his ears pick up the sounds of the engine in Cloud's bike, Angeal's blue eyes peek down to see if he can spot the other.]

The situation on Emiri had passed 'serious' a long time ago. Mysterious videos and threats by anarchists were one thing, but a dead leader delivered in an unmarked box to the Moira was something else entirely. Every crew member of the Moira was suddenly a target, and Elizabeth hadn't heard the news until the authorities had caught up with her. It was hard to deny she was part of the crew, given she'd been on official business at the central library in her uniform.

A headcount had alerted the captains that she was off the ship still, and pinpointed her location at the central headquarters of the Emirian military. Only when Than had produced the data indicating Elizabeth was on the premises did they admit to having her, and when they turned her over...

...well. It was clear she either had refused to tell them anything, or didn't have anything to tell.

Unconscious, she was rushed to the medical bay to recover. She stayed out for the tending of most of her physical wounds, and a few hours after she finally regained consciousness.

She looks around at the ceiling, trying to figure out what happened and where she is. Her entire body hurts, Elizabeth can't even think about moving anything but her head. Even that stings, too, though she turns enough to look for someone. A doctor or another soldier maybe.

For someone who liked to stay as far away from trouble as humanly possible, Ivan is having a difficult time adjusting to life on the Moira. Trouble seems to follow them at their heels -- stay too long, do something long enough, and it catches up with them. And every time Ivan closes his eyes and thinks not again because he knows his family, he's coming to know the people he cares about here on this ship, and he knows that he's the only one among them with a damn lick of sense.

It doesn't prepare him for the news that Elizabeth had managed to get kidnapped, though -- gut twisting into something unpleasant and unfamiliar. Even more so when he gets a look at her, unconscious and, well--

For all of Barrayar's defects, and Ivan knows there's plenty, there's only been one iron rule since Lord Aral Vorkosigan became Lord Regent. Don't harm prisoners. Doesn't matter how, doesn't matter why. Fast-penta gets information out quicker and easier than torture, and if they've done wrong then they'll be strung up for it eventually, there's no need for Ops or ImpSec to dirty their hands further. He's not allowed to see Elizabeth when they're healing her, but someone finally takes pity on his waffling indecision -- highlighted by ribbing from Miles -- and lets him in.

Ivan's dozing in a chair by her bed, having gotten bored when she didn't come back around for a half an hour. He's kind of the worst, but he's a sort of worst that cares. Ivan's head nearly slides off of the hand propping it up, and he comes around in a start -- soft snores getting cut off in an almost snort. His dazed expression fades when he sees that she's awake, and he grins, rubbing at his mouth surreptitiously in case he managed to drool.

"Hey!" He says, with his usual enthusiasm minus the volume.
