[It's a well-known fact now after so many years that Anakin doesn't have anywhere better to be over the holidays. He had once, but his first year of studies had proved to be the last he'd been able to go home to his mother, a fact that had left the common room in complete shambles the next year when he'd found out via a very impersonal letter from his new (ugh) stepfather.

Since then, he opted to stay at school as much as the rules would allow, and keeping away from "home" during the summer, never quite taking to that unfortunate foster situation (a benefit both for him and his late mother's husband, when they'd never quite clicked.

Needless to say, as classes end and the day slowly edges into packing to leave for the holidays, Anakin can be found sitting (very moodily) quietly in the common room, pointedly keeping his attention to homework he's also clearly not doing anything with.]

[For all her good looks and charms (both literally and magically) Lorithia is undoubtedly the worst person to have as a teacher for DADA. Especially for muggleborns, the Slytherin teacher was a nightmare, taking away points for no reason other standing around, and giving presumably biased detentions against students who called her out on it, or for disrupting her class. Are you one of those students who get upset with this predicament? Or have you already secured detention with her for no reason?]
