Oh my god, there is nothing more frustrating than when you want to kiss someone and press them against a wall, but for some reason, you can’t—or when you see two people who are obviously in love and you want to shove them into a room already. What is preventing you two from getting together? Can anyone end this?

10. PRIDE ✖ You? Be in love with someone like that? Ha! No way. You are far above them, and you deserve only the best love. But… what if they are the best love and you just don’t realize it yet?

11. FAMILY FEUD ✖ One of the most famous of all the situations, for some reason, your families are fighting and as much as you like the other person, you can’t betray your family this way. But is there a good reason for the feud? Or a misunderstanding? Will true love conquer all without the abundance of death?

12. OBLIVIOUS ✖ This is the most frustrating one ever. It’s not that they hate each other or someone else is making a barrier, it’s just that they you have no idea how good of a couple you would make or how you always flirt with each other. Will one of you realize it, or does someone need to give you a push?

[Everyone experiences a little bit of nostalgia from time to time. You pass the street you grew up on and you inevitably remember all the birthday parties and barbecues you had in the back yard. See someone playing with their new puppy and you think back to good ol' Rocky. It's nostalgia that keeps telling Steve that the world used to be better than it probably actually was.

Except for the bagel that he just bought from the corner bakery. Those were definitely better in the old neighborhood.

Steve finishes it anyway, along the rest of his coffee, before he steps inside the impressive CatCo Worldwide Media building. That's where he removes his sunglasses. (Because any superhero worth his or her salt knows that they can be hidden behind a pair of glasses.) He doesn't normally do stuff like this - interviews. But there's been some confusion lately, some ugly rumors that the Avengers resent a couple of red-caped Kryptonians. He can see the media just itching to make something of it, and Steve wants to nip that in the bud.

Steve's heard things about Ms. Grant - "man-eater" was what Sam said specifically. But she's more reputable than some of the people in this business, so here he is. He's a few steps closer to her office when he notices the young woman in glasses trying to balance a little more than she can carry. A little folded over bag starts to slide off the top of the heap, and in trying to right that-

( they shouldn't be here. a fact she had argued vehemently the second sullivan's intentions became clear. this hotel, abandoned sometime during the first two waves if the level of destruction was anything to go by, was supposed to be her meeting point with....who? ringer still isn't sure. her boyfriend, her partner. he's a silencer, that much has been determined, although the details (including why the hell they ought to trust him) are still a little sketchy.

she and flint are the only ones speaking sense. it's too close to the now defunct camp haven. vosch and his battalion could decide to come back and seek out survivors any moment. the explosions could have brought in other silencers from the area. there are a million reasons why they ought to keep moving, but none of them matter once zombie sides with the newcomer. it's been a hell of a day, sammy and teacup can barely stay upright anymore and the humvee is out of gas which means they're on foot from here on out. sleep is a necessity and the hotel may be too close for comfort, but it still offers some level of protection.

ringer almost points out that they thought the base was safe once too, but one good look at zombie, face pale from the loss of blood through torn sutures, is enough to shut her up. shouting over her shoulder that she's going to find a room without rats as she storms off in a huff.

now, in the middle of the night, she can't sleep. but truthfully, ringer hasn't slept properly since the beginning of the second wave. since her mom died. somewhere across the room, there's a quiet sniffle. sullivan, she thinks. crying. over the loss of her family or her innocence or maybe just her human/alien boyfriend. it doesn't matter either way, none of it does anymore. teacup is curled into a ball and pressed against her side, one arm thrown over ringer's stomach. she doesn't mind the closeness, not if it comforts the young girl, but she's too hot. even with that biting chill in the room and nothing more than a thin blanket covering them.

teacup whimpers when she pulls away, fingers scrabbling for purchase in her shirt with a muffled: ) Don't go.

( cassie's eyes burn a hole in her back when she turns back to the little girl, face set and voice as softly reassuring as she can manage. ) I'm just going to look for a drink. I'll be back in a few minutes.

( truthfully, she just needs to get out of that stifling room, with cassie sitting in the window like some halfhearted sentry or a housewife from centuries past, just waiting for her husband to return from war.

the first three floors were cleared as soon as they decided to stay for the night; ringer, flint and poundcake going from room to room, guns at the ready, while dumbo mended the sutures zombie tore in his less than dashing escape from haven. all chivalry and no sense, that one.

gun in one hand (always on guard) she knocks sharply on the door of the boy's room, not bothering to wait for an answer before pushing open the door. flint has his gun at the ready and it's almost enough to make her smile --now that the army doesn't exist anymore, they're finally real soldiers. almost. )

It's just me. ( his shoulders slump in the thin shaft of moonlight falling through the window, and she tips her head in the direction of the bed their commander was laid up in earlier, the room far too dark to see if he's still there. ) How's he doing?

They'd started their training routine long before she and Alex had ended things. Long before he was anything more than an acquaintance of her brother's here to rehabilitate his life after some kind of brainwashing nonsense. Of course, that was then. Now she knew about more of his history and she'd confided things it was hard to even tell her brother. The bloodlust, the way her father kept handing her victims like he was trying to help.

So now their training routine had taken a different flavor, at least for her. Every time he had her flat on her back, she wanted to grab the back of his neck and pull him down and every time their positions were reversed, she just wanted to move her hips a little to see what his reaction would be.

But every time she thought about it, she remembered how things had ended with Roy and that had been before they'd started working together.

So when he showed up, she put on a brave face and tried to ignore the fact that she felt like she should have worn more than a sports bra and exercise pants. It wasn't like he was looking at her that way anyway.

"Hey, Bucky. Hand-to-hand or staffs?" She grinned at him. "Or swords?"
