Not just saving droids or offering his rations to someone else in need on Jakku while he went hungry. No, this time he'd done something he had never even dreamt of, but he felt like it wasn't enough. He couldn't save them all. He couldn't protect Finn. He couldn't save Han.

He'd returned to D'Qar in a mix of emotions, confused as the Resistance celebrated around him. He felt angry that they so easily moved past the death of Han while the image of him with a lightsaber through his flesh wouldn't stop replaying in Rey's mind. If only he'd been down there, if only they hadn't come to save him. Possibilities upon possibilities kept coursing through his head; little changes that he could've made to save the old smuggler or he thought if only he hadn't passed out when he was flung into the tree he could've protected Finn. These went on until he was miserable, a somber look on his face until Poe took notice of him. The pilot wrapped an arm around his shoulder and talked through it with him, made him forget about the past until all he could focus on was the present.
