SLEEPING NAKED

Besides potential health benefits, sleeping naked can be downright comfortable when it's warm out or you've got a nice body to snuggle against. It's less comfortable when someone comes in and catches you in the buff or you're caught in a situation where you have to act and can't worry about clothes, then it can get downright embarrassing.

So which one are you? Are you the person cuddling up with someone special and getting some needed zzz's or is someone catching you?

Mitchell was never one for wearing clothing when it came to bedtime. Oh sure he could rock the pajamas if the weather got too cold, but being from Cali meant that almost never happened. Even now the young man was softly snoring in bed, wearing nothing more then a sheet and a tan.

Had he realized that he would have company swinging by he may have put on his boxers, but since no one had rsvp'd...well sleeping nude was just how it would be.

It is the day of Loki's birth celebration, an event only celebrated by Asgardians once every half a century. He has heard that mortals celebrate the day of their birth every year, which seems astonishing, but they are so short lived that perhaps each singular year does seem a precious thing to celebrate. It could not be done on Asgard, for celebrations of any kind often extended for weeks or even months if the occasion was great enough.

This is Loki's twentieth birth celebration, the year he turns 1000, and he has been dreading it. He has no interest in the feats of warrior strength, the combat competitions, the excessive drink, and the loud revelry that he will be forced to endure. It is worse for he knows that most of the celebrants only attend and make merry because he is Odin's son.

So he plans to make an escape.

He does not often join Thor on his hunting trips these days, and certainly never instigates them, but it is the lesser of two evils in this instance. He is sure to be chastised for wriggling free of his duties, but that is a worry for a future day. He has not warned Thor of his plans for fear that his well-meaning, but often too loud, brother will tell the wrong person and effectively cut off any escape.

Which is why he has stolen down the corridors in the cold pre-dawn light and slipped into Thor's chambers. The sight that assails his eyes makes him sigh, for Thor is naked and spread-eagled upon his bed with his coverings on the floor. He is not surprised by Thor's nakedness, many Asgardians wear little or nothing beneath their furs, but he would have preferred not to be greeted by the sight so overtly and ungracefully this early on a morning.

Despite the need to be away before the rest of the palace awoke, Loki could not help the desire for wickedness that rose within him. The opportunity was simply too good to miss, and he was helpless to resist. First he gathered a length of cloth and carefully bound Thor's ankle with one end and the bed-post with the other, before hiding himself behind the heavy drapes and calling out in mimicry of one of the guard's voices.
