[Sexy has a limited human experience, something the Doctor decided needed to be rectified. Fish and chips was the first stop, but the second was by her request. Dancing; she'd never been (for the obvious, no-legs-before situation), but to be honest she quite liked the appendages. They came in handy, really.

Her dress was perfect for dancing, he'd declared, and whisked them off to New Orleans - they may or may not have gate-crashed. It didn't seem to matter, though, with how large the event was.

Sexy would like to say she'd caught on to the steps quickly enough, but then the dance has the entire floor switch partners to their left, something she wasn't quite prepared for. She wobbles a bit on the landing, smiling apologetically at the gentleman opposite her.]

[ jim kirk was known far and wide as many a thing, but a dancer was not one of them. this little gathering was good, though, and it seemed to raise the crew's spirits while they settled into what would likely be a new life here. still explorers at heart and scientists, they threw themselves into learning what they could from their elven friends with relish.

jim had kept to the sidelines during this particular gathering. there was---something going on with himself and legolas, but he wasn't sure how to classify or quantify it. who knew it would turn out that the flowing script that curled from his chest, over his shoulder, and started down his arm would come from a world none of them could have imagined? he hadn't mentioned it to bones, he wasn't sure how, and he damn sure hadn't brought it up to anyone else.

They were all trying to get her attention, and all vying in their own ways to get her to dance with them. Harry was standing a little away, and watching, and smiling a little, eyes dancing, not quite meeting those of anyone else.

But his voice had been firm, even while quiet. He held only a single lapel rose, in one hand, extended, a lapel ornament that would go well with her outfit, and fit the single lapel hole unfilled there. He wore a suit that was impeccably tailored, and in dark blue, with a white shirt, and startlingly red dress shoes that stood out amongst the sea of sedate colored ones.

[Of course the car's busted. Of course. None of them were even surprised when the jeep, already on its last legs, came to a spluttering halt and started belching dark smoke from under the bonnet. But, although no one wanted to say it, they'd gotten off fairly lightly; how many people are lucky enough to break down in front of a petrol station and a diner?

Naturally, they'd split duties; Joseph and Kakyoin's was to grab a table and something to eat and the others' was to get the car fixed. But, jdging by the way that Polnareff was arguing with the dealer- complete with wild gesturing, a gradient of red blooming across his face and Abdul and Jotaro looking thoroughly embarrassed- they're going to be waiting a while. Still, the diner's almost completely empty, and it doesn't take long for Joseph to select somewhere away from the windows and lay claim to it by dumping his bag next to it. Might as well make themselves comfortable, right? Just as he's about to take a seat, however, something else catches his eye- a very dusty, very old-looking jukebox.

... he has spare change, doesn't he?

Moments later, a familiar blast of trumpets suddenly fills the room, turning heads and sending a ripple of confusion through the other customers. Without so much as a hint of embarrassment at breaking the peaceful quiet of the diner, he swings back around to Kakyoin, evidently pleased with his choice of song.]

I haven't heard this one in years! [He grins and extends a hand to him with a Fred Astaire kind of flourish. Well, his version of that, at least. His partner's not exactly Ginger Rogers either but he'll do.] Well...?
