Brain Swap Meme

Maybe it was that one in a million jolt of electricity. Maybe it was some alien piece of technology you really shouldn't have touched. Maybe someone strapped you into a machine, pulled a lever with some maniacal laughter, and did this to you on purpose. Or there's the classic going through a teleportation device and ending up the wrong way around on the other side.

Whether it's on purpose or by accident, your mind is suddenly not where it's supposed to be. And who's that walking around with your body?? Hopefully you can figure out how to get it back before they do any damage to it.

Your mind is effectively switched with the person/object you have ended up in. How will you react? How with the other one react when they find out they're you? If they're an alien, maybe they'll decide being human is a good thing and run off with your body. If they're a plant, they'll have to learn throwing water on themselves isn't the best way to drink, and so on. Meanwhile, you'll be trying to find a way to switch back. Communication may be problematic depending on what you've switched with. The mun who posts plays both parts, the character and the object/plant/alien they've switched with in their body.

Scenarios
1. Each Other: The poster and commenter have switched bodies. Awkward? Probably. Time to work together and find a way to reverse this before anyone notices. You may have to coach the other person into how to be "you" properly. Hopefully they're not the type to go running off with another person's body.

2. Animal: Dog, cat, bird, fish, giraffe, pygmy marmoset...small green tree frog. This is now you and the animal is going to be surprised when they find out they're human. Maybe your friend can help fix this situation.

3. Inanimate object: Ever thought about what it would be like to be a toaster? Or a refrigerator? How about a side table? (maybe that's a little bit Blues Clues) But you get the picture. You're an object, you're inanimate, but you're completely aware of what's going on. Your body, however, either believes itself to be a toaster/refrig/sidetable/etc. or it's completely unresponsive till you find a way back. Fortunately for you, the other person commenting is able to understand you somehow.

4. Plant: Time to wax poetic about plants having feelings too because you are now one of them. A beautiful daisy, a prickly cactus, a creeping vine...the plant might have trouble adjusting to your body though. Good thing that person over there is able to understand you, even if they think they might be going crazy talking to a plant.

5. Technology: This is more computer based than the inanimate object option. This takes in televisions, mobile phones, computers and computer networks, etc. Anything electronic in other words. While you're coping with being inside a machine, the machine is trying to adjust to being a human. Someone might start thinking you're a robot unless you find a way to fix this.

6. Alien: Now you're not only not human, you're not even from planet Earth. The alien may have done this on purpose or perhaps you found something you weren't supposed to touch and touched it before they could say no. Hopefully they can tell you how to fix it...that is if they want to. They might decide to start impersonating you instead to your friends.

7. Something Completely Different: There must be something I didn't think of. Take the story in a completely different direction.

Rhodes was having one of those days. Just the kind where he invoked whatever force in the universe that gives Tony his luck turns around and gives Rhodes the worst luck ever. Whatever Tony had been doing to upgrade the suits, he had gone too far with something and now the Air Force pilot was paying the price. Again.

Everything felt backwards, but at least he was managing as he finally found the command to put in a call to Jarvis and announced his impending arrival to Avengers tower. War Machine wobbled a bit in the air as he readjusted the thrusters, man this was way harder than it should be, and managed to come to a clunky landing just as Jarvis told him that Tony wasn't home, but Bruce was around.

"Great. Don't care, just get one one of these geniuses up to the main floor here, Jarvis. I need help. Now." Whoever shows up will find the War Machine armor standing awkwardly inside the main area of the penthouse, with the occasional sound of gears whining combined with the sound of Rhodes cursing Tony under his breath.

Games could only last for so long before at least one of the players grew tired. Sasuke had known from the beginning that each interaction with his supposed savior was laced with half-truths and end-wishes that didn't coincide with his own, but he lingered around all the same. Frankly he didn't give a damn what the masked Madara wanted, just that he needed to be six steps ahead of him at all times for his own safety. He didn't tell Sasuke the history of his clan's betrayal out of the goodness of his missing heart, after all.

But Sasuke had practice with circumstances like these, didn't he? Being in Orochimaru's "care" for years had taught him the skills of walking ahead and watching behind. Falling into old routines were mildly refreshing.

So, while Madara was running around, plotting whatever plan he was hatching, Sasuke worked on his own. Traveling to a remote fishing village, he found a scroll he heard rumored to exist: some forbidden jutsu that he knew could even the score. Stealing it was simple, not an ounce of blood spilled before he was running back to the Akatsuki hideout.

He was gone for three days, but it felt like a blip on the clock. Tossing his cloak on the bed when he returned, he kicked the door shut and locked it, before unrolling the scroll. It was said to give away all of a target's secrets, to know the real them. It was, Sasuke knew, just what he needed: some truth jutsu or some mind-reading. Something that could cut through the deceptions and figure out how much Madara had told him was true.

And to figure out how much trouble he was in every second he remained.

Laying the paper on the bed, he started to form the handsigns, slow, careful. One mistake, and this could wreck them both. Ram. Ox. Hare. Horse. Boar. Bird. Dragon.

Deep breath. Exhale. Tiger.

There was a pale puff of smoke, and the sudden vertigo overtook him, making him sick, dizzy. Different. Very...different. Something was...wrong. Had it worked? Or--Or rather...

Tony's first thoughts as he woke up were complicated, which was nothing usual - of course, but there was something particularly off about everything this morning that was making very little sense.

He'd fallen into bed not long after Darcy. Managed to time it just right so that she was at that sleepy stage of falling asleep when she definitely didn't mind sharing a few kisses and silly anecdotes from their day, and then he'd settled to sleep. Which meant that it couldn't have been much later than Eleven, the way things were going.

Sure, he'd been working hard lately, but there was absolutely no reason why he would have slept in so late that it's JARVIS that wakes him with a brief about the time of day, the sunlight is what finally has him opening his eyes, but that heavy, tired - no, fatigued feeling still lingers with him. Lethargy has him reaching up to rub his face, and that's when things get weird.

It was never difficult sit up in bed, but he curses whatever adrenaline it is running through him that has him upright in seconds flat because the ache from his stomach is so indefinably intense.

Clint hated AIM, so much... so fucking much, there was always weird shit and lasers when it was aim. He drags a hand down his face and he knows then somethings not right. He sits up blinking open his eyes, he notices two things, on his vision feels off, and two holy fuck is everything louder then normal.

He looks around and he he pushes himself up he realizes he's stepping out of Shell Head's armor... "Uh, Shit... Shit... I think we have a problem..."

Bruce ran through the streets of Brazil, his heart pounding in his throat, trying to outrun the guns that were surely trained at his back. How they had found him, he would never know. But he knew he had to lose them quickly or something bad would happen.

Something he didn't want to happen.

He pulled to a stop near a cart, having to catch his breath, panting with his lungs on fire as he tried to stay calm. His watch was having a fit on his wrist, beeping away at 180. No no, he couldn't stay at those levels. Bruce stopped, trying to breathe normally, lower his heart rate....


.....and then he was running again. Through the streets, pushing through the crowd, trying to find someone.

Hang on, who was he looking for? The gun weighed heavily on his shoulder, a surprise when he found it. What was going on here??

Things are going great between them and the Avengers had been happy to accept Henry's help in the field. He has wonderful connections and he's gathered a vast array of knowledge over the long years of his life. It's useful. Of course, in this particular case, it's just AIM causing trouble and he's grabbed Henry to yank him out of the way of some sort of beam weapon when they're hit with it instead.

Nothing happens. Steve gives the vampire a confused look and carries on. They get checked over when it's over and nothing. Clearly the thing had malfunctioned. They have fun. They go to bed.

It's not until he wakes up the next morning that he feels different at all. He shifts and he realizes he's not on the same side of the bed that he'd gone to bed on. Weird. He rolls over toward Henry and freezes, staring instead at himself on the other side of the bed.

"What--" Not his voice. That is not his voice.
