Grab the box of tissues, it's time for
A Soap Opera/Telenovela Tropes Meme

Let's be honest, we play out some pretty crazy things on Bakerstreet, from budding romance to chilling betrayal, surprise twists and stunning plots worthy of any tv drama.
...but what if that drama was a soap opera?
Post your character, their backstory and what their role in this big soap opera is! Are they a high rolling Wall Street hedge fund manager? The charming and demure maid? Maybe your shonen hero is the new pool boy, or your superhero now finds himself a trophy husband to a hotshot lawyer wife who worships Satan! Give us a taste of what your character's soap opera life could be!
Any top-level left blank will be deleted.
1. "But Ramon...it's your baby!" Surprise pregnancies! Keep it, get rid of it, put it up for adoption, but definitely ask for a paternity test, she's also slept with the pool boy. Which brings us to...
2. "Rebecca, how could you?!" Someone caught their lover in flagrante delecto with another! /organ wail How awkward if it turns out-
3. "She's your sister!" Whoops. Incest a go-go.
4. "Your mother gave Caesar up in her grief" And thus, your long-lost sibling/aunt/cousin's brother's nephew's former roommate has come to crash the party.
5. "Speak now or forever hold your peace" Drama on the wedding day! You're a bride left at the altar, your former (and quite possibly long-lost) lover decides your trip down the aisle is a mistake. Maybe this whole marriage is an accident!
6. "I'm sorry, Jacqueline...it's terminal" Someone's going to die. You, your dog, your tenth secret love child, oh the drama. Just remember...
7. "Lupita, you're alive!" Death is only temporary in a soap opera. Maybe you even faked it!
8. "David...don't you remember me?" The amnesia option. You hit your head in a tragic hang-gliding accident
9. "It's a miracle!" Is your character in a coma? Not anymore! Bonus points if you pair it with #5
10. "I love you!" Three little anguished, desperate words, uttered at the worst moment possible.
11. "I have a terrible secret..." The catch-all! Anything else you want to add, go for it, just make it as cheesy and overwrought as you can.

And she had a lot of uncles.
In any case, she hadn't actually been expecting an answer, which was why that first thump caused her to yelp like a startled puppy, sitting bolt upright from where she'd been leaning against the wall, fingers drawing idle patterns in the dust on the floor. She'd almost convinced herself she'd imagined it, but then there was another, and another and she did the only thing that made sense: she went to get the shovel to use as a pry-bar to get the lid open, and even still she had to use most of her weight and both arms to get enough leverage to do so.

Thorin blinks up at the face.
"...Bilbo?" No, not Bilbo, though this person really resembles him a lot (it's the lack of beard, really).

At least her voice was steady enough, not giving away just how nervous she was even as she added: "How long have you been in there?" Because that seemed like the most logical question to ask first, though this was followed almost immediately by: "I'm Sunny, who are you?"

"Where am I?"
Because he sure as hell doesn't remember here last; it's definitely not the halls; he's never seen her, and it doesn't seem like a place where you would put a sick person...

Her brow furrowed further at the question, though that was an easy enough one to answer, "In the tomb of Thorin Oakenshield, of course." She shook her head, "Where were you expecting to be?"
Honestly she was just going to keep asking questions until she actually got an answer on one of them, and for the time being, she didn't quite care which one got answered.

It was colder, that he knows, and he was outside. There were eagles, and Bilbo. He definitely wasn't inside the mountain - this mountain. He could be mistaken, but he knows in his bones that this is the Lonely Mountain.
"I could... see this mountain." He frowns. What was the name of the place that he stood on?
"I was outside." He changes course abruptly, not wishing to dwell on not knowing where he was. It will come back to him as soon as he is a bit more awake - just why does he feel so weak.
And then her explanation of where they are right now sinks in, and his voice suddenly gains in strength as he looks at her with disdain.
"I would hardly have a tomb. I'm not dead." ...he isn't, right? These can't be the halls. She's not a Dwarf.

Her brow furrowed then, "That is, of course, supposing you are actually Thorin Oakenshield and not an impostor." A head-shake followed, "Though I wouldn't be the one who'd be able to tell, never met you myownself before today. I've seen pictures, look like you might be him." She shrugged, offering him an arm again, "C'mon then, might as well get you home, one of the uncles will know if you're great-uncle Thorin for sure, they've all met you."

Looking down at her, and then around, taking in the view of the Lonely Mountain returned to its old glory all around him.
A single tear might be rolling down his cheek, no, not literally but... that's the expression. It takes a whole minute or two before he looks back at her."Why do you think that I am your great-uncle?" Did Bilbo.. no, he can't really find an explanation that works that way, in any way.

She couldn't help but smile, just a little, at his expression, it reminded her of how she always felt coming back after any amount of time away. Though at the question she laughed brightly, "You wouldn't know, would you? Kili found me in a dumpster outside of work, I wasn't quite a year old yet, then brought me back here since I hadn't got anywhere else to go, and nobody was looking for me after six months, so he and Fili adopted me all proper-like."
no subject
Because where else would one of his nephews have worked after the mountain was reclaimed?
no subject
And then, because that was really the more important response she added: "And the dumpster was in Edinburgh. Near the hospital where Kili works with Beorn."
