SWORN TO THE SWORD shipping meme It's textbook, really. Or, more accurately, parchment, because you've either found yourself or always been in a time (it doesn't necessarily have to be medieval) where swords - and possibly sorcery - are the weapons and the mindset of the day; at the very least, the rough and tumble attitude that comes with a knife's edge permeates the land. And you know how to wield a weapon, be it a blade, your own body, or something else entirely, so you've put it to good use. You've become a sworn sword to protect someone. It could be out of the goodness of your heart, out of heritage, or stemmed from a desire for compensation or power. No matter what the cause, however, one fact remains the same, and that's how you cannot let emotions cloud your judgement. Of course, that may be a little easier said than done. When you're so close to a person, in order to keep them safe, and when you put your very life on the line... ...ah, but you must persevere. Your duty does not allow you to falter. [Like so many stories before this... Once upon a time...

The kingdom is neither too big, nor too small, but it had a sense of holiness which radiated from the austere, but lovely architecture and from its pious and hardworking citizens. It was a kingdom where blooming flowers were plentiful and magic was always close by, existing alongside them. There is a specific magic, no, a miracle, which everyone revered, that being reincarnation. The belief is that only the royal line that ruled this kingdom had been blessed with this miracle and there would always be a descendant with the same reborn soul one who was considered to be touched by holiness. If this soul were to disappear, the miracle would be lost which is why he or she only left the kingdom's borders when necessary, but always returned to their place of birth.

That's all fine and good, but Lien didn't think it was all that great. What's the point of reincarnation if it was just going to be within the royal line anyways? The young princess is contemplating this while sitting in a tree, a book over her face, long hair freed from its restrictive bun, and wearing a simple dress. The sun was high in the sky, meaning the soldiers training would be over and lunchtime would begin.]
