Let's face it: you're bad at this whole "romantic affection" thing. Really, that's being generous. You suck abysmally at it. Still, you've found yourself in something resembling a human relationship, somehow, and you feel like you either have or want to show you care. Uhm, congrats. I'm sure this is going to work out well for you!

Just kidding. Be it a physical gesture, kind words directed their way, or a gift, you're going to screw this up, most likely. Screw it up badly. Hopefully, they'll be charmed by you at least trying and won't be offended.

[Throughout their entire bizarre relationship, Naruko has been just as inept as Imaizumi at conveying his emotions, however his own stubbornness is due in part to the fact that showing things like affection when Imaizumi still looks down at him like he's some kind of mouse really pisses him off. He's not going to be one of those head-over-heels lovey-dovey types when Imaizumi won't do anything for him, so their arguments continue in full force, and nothing much really feels different when they're together.

It's the exact reason Naruko doesn't bother telling him about the significance of this "special anniversary", because Imaizumi's supposed to be some kind of smart ass, so he whould know, and if he doesn't he's a moron. Just like he's a moron for coming to his house with flowers when Naruko has barely finished taking a bath.

When the door opens, Naruko's right there with his damp red hair flat against his head-- and both his little brothers peeking from behind him. From the look on his face, Naruko is furious.]

You...! [He ignores most of the chatter from behind him ('Who's this tall guy?' 'Whoa, he's got flowers!' 'Who're they for?') until the last question gets him, and Naruko immediately answers back.]

They're for mom! Stop bein' nosy and get lost!

['Aren't you gonna give her the flowers?!' Is the last thing heard from the other side of the door after Naruko squeezes outside and shuts it in the faces of his little brothers (he's sorry bros, he'll bring you back something in apology). Throwing an angry look up at Imaizumi, he grabs a hold of his sleeves and tries dragging him off to the side away from the front door (and prying ears assuredly behind it).]

Why don't you tell me you're comin' over ahead of time, dumbass? And don't wave that around, it's embarrassing! [He points to the flowers.] And why're they blue? Blue's a lame color!

_{[ He didn't really say a word during that whole interaction since he knew that he couldn't really deal with that many siblings since he can barely handle his one sister. Imaizumi did want to point out his appearance at the moment because his hair was flat and he looked funny--not "cool" at all.

Though, he didn't really mind being pulled away from the door; he knew how siblings liked to listen in on conversations. ]}

You didn't tell me a time.

_{[ It was as simple as that since Imaizumi didn't even know if he was supposed to come over at all, but he knew if he didn't, he'd get a billion calls in a row with an angry Naruko on each line probably. ]}

They all wouldn't fit in the bag---and hey! Blue's better than red. I had to go two different places to find blue flowers. _{[ ????? ]}

[Considering the fact that Naruko has never invited Imaizumi over to his place, he wasn't surprised at the slew of questions that came from his brothers. He was sure that they'd come right on back as soon as he went back indoors too. While he spoke to his family often about his teammates, especially Onoda, he never really mentioned Imaizumi much. And with the two of them dating, he was bound to mention him even less. It's not exactly an easy subject to bridge after all.]

How about askin' for a time then? You got a phone, use it! [Ignoring the fact that things would have been made easier if Naruko had in fact giving Imaizumi a timeframe of sorts to be ready. But this wasn't his fault at all, it was totally Imaizumi's fault. Always was and always would be.

As he focuses again on the flowers, he can't help but feel terribly annoyed, and yet his face goes noticeably warm as he reaches out to snatch them out of Imaizumi's hands.]

I don't need flowers. I dunno why you went and got 'em in the first place. [He's not a girl, he doesn't need those things.]

I did at school.

_{[ He would always blame Naruko, honestly, though that was just how the two worked. In his defense, he probably did subtly ask and then got the response of how he should know since he was a smartass about it anyway, which....he was. Even though he had no idea what this was for, he still acted like he did and wouldn't admit to anything else.

But hey, at least he didn't show up in a suit and tie since Naruko would be teased even more by his siblings then. ]}

I didn't know what else to get. You said anniversary, so...

_{[ He tried, and honestly he probably looked online about things to buy a date, which were usually "things to get girls." Poor Naruko... ]}

[Just having Imaizumi there was enough trouble, but having him clearly say that this was for his anniversary was even worse. Naruko didn't know if he was even more mad or just plain speechless, even though he was a mix of both as he held the flowers against his chest, mouth agape as he just stared at Imaizumi.

Why the hell would he get him flowers for that sort of anniversary? It wasn't anything romantic to speak of. But... as Naruko stared down at the small bouquet, strangely enough, his anger started to subside. Just a little.]

...flowers are gonna look weird in my room. [It's a weak grumble, but it's still audible. And it's the best sort of "thank you" Imaizumi is going to get. At least he tried.

Reaching up to run a hand through his hair, Naruko realizes how unprepared he is and hands the flowers back to Imaizumi.]

Stay out here. I'm not ready yet.

_{[ He knew that look meant that he had done something wrong--or no, Naruko had done something wrong because it was always his fault. It was like he was getting a weird look for bringing flowers and that meant he wasn't about to get out the other gift that was in his bag since he had no clue what was up now. ]}

That's your fault for having too many red things.

_{[ Maybe one day he would balance out the amount of red that was probably in this boy's room with blue things that he would buy him in years to come.

Though, he didn't expect to be given back the flowers let alone be told to stand outside. While Imaizumi was still going to get on to him about being a rude host, he would probably rather stand out here than to get terrorized by his boyfriend's brothers. ]}

You're leaving me outside? I thought you were a better host than this.

[Every time Imaizumi says something Naruko can't help but get riled up, and that's exactly what's happening right now. He's so tempted to just throw the flowers right in his face, but deep down he'd really rather not do that, not to mention causing a fight outside his home would get him in serious trouble.

Naruko just tells himself that he is in fact giving the flowers to his mother and he sure as hell isn't keeping even one.]

I don't have t'be a good host to someone that's annoying! You're on my property, so you do what I tell ya! [Naruko you're barely sixteen you don't even pay rent to live here.]

'sides, what makes you think you're gonna be able to handle my little brothers while you wait inside? They're right on the other side of that door y'know. You can't handle me, you're gonna be screwed with two more little mes!

_{[ Imaizumi just blinked since he knew Naruko was getting mad or something, but he didn't know what to do about it, which honestly he just thought about getting more flowers to calm him down even though that wouldn't help at all.

He did have a point since he could barely handle one Naruko, let alone two smaller, yelling Narukos that would probably ask him a billion questions all while he ignored them. And he knew how hard it was to ignore one Naruko since he hated when he wasn't getting the attention he wanted. ]}

....Can't I just wait in your room? I don't want to deal with two little yous. It's already enough when I've come over with Onoda.

[Naruko holds the flowers close to his chest, and he's able to smell them pretty well. The color still bothers him, but they're not that bad. He still would have preferred something not so girly. He stares up at Imaizumi doubtfully before turning around.

He really doesn't want Imaizumi in his house. This would be the first time its been the two of them, and with the two of them dating, Naruko's always excessively paranoid about people somehow just knowing there's something going on between them even though nothing's at all different. They still treat each other the same, they still fight and argue.

This is stupid.]

I guess you can come inside for a while.

[There's a brief pause.]

...be nice. [Mostly he's talking about his brothers, but he sort of means himself too.] I'll kick you out if you're not.

_{[ He noticed how Naruko was looking at the flowers and maybe even smelling them? Maybe he did a good job with those and he just didn't want to admit that he did good. He would probably tease him about it later, honestly. Imaizumi wasn't really saying anything until he actually got a confirmation that it was okay to come inside the house. ]}

_{[ About them dating, was of course what he was referring to. It's not like he had some weird nickname for him that he called him, but he did want to know if his family knew yet or not. He wouldn't mind either way since he knew how they were keeping it low key for now.

He did actually crack a smirk when he told him to be nice, even though it was a legitimate concern since Imaizumi often came across as rude. ]}

I have better manners than you. Lead the way.

[Naruko glowers over his shoulder, stopping so Imaizumi can fall into pace beside him.]

Obviously they don't know, dumbass. How am I gonna tell 'em that I'm dating a guy? 'specially a loser like you!

[His family would want him to date a very cute, respectable young girl with kind eyes and a comfy pair of breasts that he could rest his head on when he's tired.

...okay that last part is more-so something he'd want. Which makes him remember how long and bony Imaizumi is. Nothing about him is comfortable. He couldn't even fall asleep on his lap if he wanted to, it'd be like trying to nap on concrete. This guy is so useless. Why is he dating him again?

As they begin to reach the front door, Naruko whispers, just loud enough for Imaizumi to be able to hear.]

My brothers probably think we left, so be quiet so they don't hear us comin' inside. We gotta go to the end the hall and then right.

They probably all think you're gay anyway with how much you talk about cute girls like you have to prove something.

_{[ Imaizumi smirked at him right after he had rolled his eyes because of the rude comment that was not necessary. Even so, he was the same way because his parents probably didn't expect much else out of him other than being a professional cyclist one day, and it's not like he was one to ever have that many friends to begin with since he was so rude and quiet.

At least Naruko could be mistaken for a small girl if someone put him in a dress and threw a wig on him, Imaizumi thought. (????) ]}

I know where your room is.

_{[ He's been over at least a few times, but if it's one thing he's good at, it's being quiet. So, he would follow him, not making a single sound. Now, he did wonder if it was possible for Naruko to be quiet that long. ]}

[All Naruko does in response is giving Imaizumi a heated glare over his shoulder at that comment. He's going to punch you in the dick as soon as they're in his room.

For once Naruko is at least smart enough to keep himself quiet and not start a fight in the middle of the hallway, mostly because fighting in his house is pretty much forbidden and he definitely doesn't want to get caught. Take that, Shittyizumi!! When they make it to the bedroom Naruko takes a second to take one last glance around to make sure no one is around--]

BIG BROOOOO!!

[And Naruko yelps at the rumbling sound of stampeding feet heading toward them. How the hell did they know he was here?! (Because they're little siblings, that's why)]

Hotshot, get in!! [Yanking open the door, Naruko tries to shove Imaizumi into his room with a hard push to his butt.]

_{[ Imaizumi was surprised that Naruko kept quiet the whole time, though even he froze when he heard the loud and rambunctious siblings coming towards them at the speed of light. He did not want to sit and talk to them, especially when he still had flowers in his hands.

He could have done without the shove, though. ]}

I'm going!

_{[ He hissed out a reply as if he was annoyed, but he moved quick and was inside of the room before the smaller Narukos caught up to them, hopefully. At least, he was inside before that happened and maybe Naruko himself had to deal with them. ]}

How did they even know where you were?

[Thankfully Naruko is able to slip into his room along with Imaizumi before his siblings can get a hold of him, and while they pound at the door as soon as Naruko looks it behind them, he knows there's no way they can get in what with the lock on it. Bless his parents for allowed him to have that put in.

With a relieved sigh, Naruko looks back over to Imaizumi before taking the bouquet of flowers from his hands and moves over to a desk in a corner of his room.]

I don't know! They do that all the time, it's crazy! They're like... little dogs or somethin'.

Runs in the family then.

_{[ Imaizumi smirked as he laughed a little at his own remark because Naruko, like his brothers, did seem to know where he and Onoda were at a lot of the times even if they didn't tell him where they were eating lunch on accident. ]}

_{[ He watched him move over with the flowers in hand, wondering what he was going to do with those since he would probably get mad if he just shoved them into a drawer. ]}

Who you callin' a dog?! [He's not very offended by the "little" part because he is admittedly very small. But he's certainly not a dog!! If he were an animal he'd have to be at least a tiger. Naruko resists the urge to throw the flowers at Imaizumi and just puts them on the desk.]

Shut up. I don't need a vase. ...don't got one anyway. [He'd have to either ask his mother for one or buy one, and he sure hoped it didn't lead to that. Turning back around Naruko walks over to where his closet is, running his hands through his hair to help dry it faster.]

_{[ Him getting this reaction out of Naruko was too good, honestly. Imaizumi looked a little too smug at the moment and even laughed again. It was sometimes too easy to get him irritated like this....not that he wanted him to throw a fit. ]}

I wasn't. If anything, you're like a puppy. _{[ Loud, noisy, always wants attention, won't ever shut up--he had a point. But really, he was just being an ass right now. ]}

I can bring one over if you want one.

_{[ He probably had some spare ones at his house, so it wasn't like it was a huge deal to take one from there. He just hadn't thought of it or he would have brought them in a vase. ]}
