In this post-war world where the Allies are celebrating their victory while Russia delves deeper and deeper into paranoia, new feels as dangerous to her as the uneven asphalt sidewalks. Natasha watches the overhead fireworks, spun around by the crowd until she finds her way into the shoulder of Howard Stark.

As the count down gets to the last 2 seconds Bones mutters an expletive to himself and pulls Jim in for a kiss.

[ It's the new year incoming. This time of the year is always very noisy, and any other time she'd be travelling off to somewhere more quiet. No fireworks to put her on edge. Pretty as fireworks are, they're still explosions set off up in the sky. Not a lot of good memories attached to those things.

This year caught her stranded somewhere that doesn't even register on Google Maps, but the alcohol is passable and the crowd is thinning by the second. She offers a drink out of her bottle to the nearest stranger, a guy wearing a hat indoors. ]
