The virus was about to take everything from him, including his sanity. His brother wanted a cure, everyone did. He didn't really care for the human race in general, but maybe someone that specialized in corpses would be able to assist.

Someone that others consulted on such things as causes of death.
Maybe she'd know about such things.

She's probably the wary sort, considering you could be snuck up on by a zombie hungry enough for human flesh, but you should be able to hear them first. So he's waiting in the lab for her to arrive, poking around because he is curious about her work.

He’d gone camping with her with his Granny Erina’s blessing, after confidently dispelling any doubts to the adults in his life as to his capacity to survive in the wilderness. After all, what’s the wildlife got against a Ripple user, anyway?

As he was the bigger and older of the two, Joseph had consented to being a pack mule and navigator for the duration of their hike. All that wonder and awe at the majesty of nature can be left to Frisk over here—Joseph’s too busy perusing his map and checking landmarks as they go along. Deep in the wilderness is an ideal camping spot. It’s close to a river and there’s a small town not far away, should they need a phone call or further provisions from nature.

Of course…they’ve been hiking a good long while and even his own legs are starting to feel like lead. The sun is setting by the time he stops in his tracks, muttering to himself:

“I could have sworn…we did take a left turn at that massive oak, just as it says, but…”

A beat, and with feeling: “Oh no!”

[ If alignment were questioned, Takao would call himself chaotic good. He enjoy humor that comes from good-natured chaos, but he's got no ill intent in anything he does. No matter what other green haired wizards might say.

So summoning a demon for the sake of doing anything evil is out of the question. But summoning one just to see if it actually works... well, that's right up his alley. Especially when he finds a particularly ancient-looking book among some spellbooks he's recently picked up - an ancient-looking book that just happens to have detailed instructions on how to summon a demon who will follow his bidding.

He follows the instructions. Mostly. Maybe he cuts a few corners. So what? Not everyone wants to go around killing cats or harvesting bones.

Substitutions are made where they're necessary and Takao soon finds himself standing outside of a pentagram drawn on his floor, reciting an incantation from the book as he glances up between each line, eager to see if this works. ]

To anyone who knows MMOs, Genos is a terrible healer. He doesn't think so—though he's quite annoyed that somehow, he can't change his class. He's not interested in healing, he's not interested in buffs, he needs pure strength. Every time he levels, his skill points go into strength; every raid he's in, he charges ahead of the tank and gets killed immediately.

This time, it's a boss fight! He's enlisted several heroes from the Association to help him—their guild is the strongest, but also the smallest. In this party, he's been paired up with Metal Bat.

And they've wiped four times already because he hasn't healed anyone. ]

Why does this staff only do sixteen damage? Its item level is almost one hundred, it should be dealing thousands.

Loke would not deny that this was highly amusing. The powerful Ganondorf being cursed in such a way that his powers were sealed away and now had travelled all this way to ask for his help. It was hilarious.

"I'm not sure if I can help you with your little problem." Of course he could break the curse. He had dealt with plenty in his life. Three of his children were the result of him eating a cursed heart. It was more a matter if he should help or not.

[Wes likes to go see ridiculous catasttophe movies because, having helped stopped one, he finds Hollywood's renditions all over the top and contrived. As if you wouldn't try to save more people from a meteor on a collision course from earth, as if your cruise ship will take such a precise hit, as if aliens amd robots aren't worth listening to. But that's whyhe can tolerate them. He can get away from his memories, from missing his friends who've gone back home to the future, and from being in charge of an elite defense force.

This movie, though, suffered from a bad case of false advertising. He'd been led to believe there's be more ridiculous fighting, more unrealistic explosions, but the focus so far has been on a small family and a few friends slowly being killed off for no reason that Wes can tell than to upset the audience. And okay, it's sad, but when you can't be with the woman you love because she's from one thousand years in the future, this isn't too bad.

At the fourth death, he keeps his emotional distance and looks around the dark movie theater, at the people staring, rapt, at the big screen. It's pretty crowded; in the seat next to him is a girl whose cheeks glisten in the glow from the screen. And... is she hiccuping a little? See, that's upsetting. Real people's feelings, not some awful movie plot.

He leans just a bit towards her, staying out of her personal space as best she can, and whispers,] I'm unhappy too. Want me to go get us our money back?
