Red Lanterns : Rage

The grumpy Guses of the Lantern Corps. You're angry about anything from your world being destroyed to someone's piss-poor parking job.

Abilities: Flight, making stuff with their rings, vomiting acidic blood I am not kidding.
Weaknesses: Blue Lanterns can cleanse your rage. Also don't yank off your ring or you'll die. Baaad idea. Also a potential for instability and loss of control.

Orange Lanterns : Avarice

You want everything and you want it right now. Precious gems, fancy cars, quadruple decker burgers. If it belongs to someone else, they're just holding it for you. And you want it back now.

Abilities: Flight, making stuff with their rings, ability to absorb other Lantern's constructs (aka stuff you make with your ring.)
Weaknesses: Can't absorb any constructs made by Blue Lanterns.

Yellow Lanterns (Sinestro Corps) : Fear

Scaring the crap out of people is practically your hobby. When it comes down to being loved or feared, you don't even consider love to be an option. You want to scare the crap out of anyone and everyone. Maybe for the fun of it. Maybe to gain power. It's up to you.

Abilibies: Flight, making stuff, weakening and immune to Green Lantern rings and their constructs.
Weaknesses: Those freaking Blue Lanterns again. They weaken you.

Green Lanterns : Will

You've got stuff to do and places to be. Weekend project? By golly, it's getting done this weekend! Saving the world? Pssh no prob. You don't believe in impossible. You will make it possible with the sheer power of your will.

Abilities: Flight, making stuff with your ring.
Weaknesses: Yellow Lanterns make you all scared and not full of will anymore.

Blue Lanterns : Hope

"All will be well." That's this Corps' motto. You're the zen optimist of the bunch. Sorrow is never permanent and you always look beyond and see the sunny days behind that cloudy gloom.

Abilities: Flight, making stuff with your ring, weakening Yellow Lanterns, "cleansing" Red Lanterns, strengthening Green Lanterns.
Weaknesses: Can't do any of the super cool stuff without a Green Lantern around.

Indigo Lanterns : Compassion

The world's suffering is your suffering. Your heart aches for the lost and lonely, and you'll give someone the shirt off your back. Worldly matters don't concern you, but the greater good of all definitely does.

Abilities: Flight, making stuff with your ring, healing powers, ability to mimic some of the other Corps' abilities (like absorbing constructs).
Weaknesses: Good question.

Violet Lanterns (Star Sapphires) : Love

Love, love, love! You love love. Playing matchmaker is a not-so-secret hobby of yours. You want everyone to find love. You want someone to love. You want to spread love everywhere!

Abilities: Flight, making stuff with your ring, ability to "see" someone's true love, immune to Orange Lanterns' influence.
Weaknesses: Potential for instability and loss of control.

How could she not, the way his glowing, blue uniform seemed to radiate peace and hope amidst the starry backdrop of Zamaron's night skies? But she did not immediately approach. Instead, lightly humming to herself, she continued on her path (perhaps a bit slower than before), adding in the occasion twirl to her flight pattern. Waiting to see if he would notice.]

Ren | Ren and Stimpy | Red Lantern

[For a small guy, he sure stuck out like a sore thumb. A sore, glowing red thumb. A thumb of rage.

The red lantern uniform sure was tight, but what the ring offered? Totally worth it. Besides, it was just another grievance to act out on.

The little mutt currently invested his fury on some primitive alien planet, lobbing trees around like rag dolls, starting rage fires. Screw the environment, he had a score to settle with LIFE.]

*The Master is having fun. He's given himself red batwings and he's flying around spitting acid at people who he doesn't like the look of. Which is everyone over twelve, because children are a waste of good acid.*

There in his lab, there will be the many displays of beaker bottles boiling with chemicals of many kinds, old fashioned torture devices littered about with still alive 'specimens' squirming and failing to escape from captivity... and there the demon is standing next to a large metal table where whirling buzzsaws and drill bits hover right above the 'volunteered' specimen, and Mao himself snapping on gloves before picking up a scalpel and twirling it around with his fingers.]

Well, shall we begin? How shall we do this one, I wonder? Perhaps giving it wings made of molten lava, or perhaps a head of fish with arms and legs of a squid? And I still can't resist going with the classic of stitching other things together and see what the results are! [Huff. Huuuuff. Slurp!] Oh, I'm just drooling on thinking about it!

[there's a distinctly gratifying feeling that comes with being chosen for something great. then again, he should be used to it; after all, greatness was what he was destined for from the very beginning, was it not? the signs had always been there. it isn't even a question of whether or not he'd even believed in them very much to begin with; all of those years of being put down, having one dream after the other broken or mocked, seem so far away now. were they important to begin with? probably, probably not. the point was, he was chosen. he was given a tremendous power today - an unthinkable power.

and it's all his.

early on, he resolved that the first thing he'd do with his new ring was learn how to fly, and boy oh boy, was that ever a good decision. he's gliding through the air now, a tall, gangly orange blur clad in an extravagant tailcoat and equally gaudy sunglasses, picking up speed, trying to see how fast he can go before he makes himself sick.

because clearly, that's the most important thing right now. crime shmime, it can wait for later.]

I don't know how this works I just like giving characters powers. :|

[Still a relatively new Indigo Lantern, Rapunzel Zadie understands -- she really does -- the appeal of flying. All but locked up with her controlling (to put it mildly) aunt her whole life, it's... Nice. To finally be free. And flying is the epitome of that, at least in her mind.

The overdressed new kid is an amusing sight. She's... Vaguely aware she ought to be wary of the Orange Lanterns, but it's charming to see someone so excited. She's already been around too many jaded, serious people, and while she understands that this is a serious job... She wants to be happy while doing it. That's okay, isn't it?

[Audrey's favorite part about being a Blue Lantern is the flying; she likes being able to see the world from up above, to skim over the tops of forests like a bird over water. she's away from her Green Lantern-- Ted is off racing his bike, as usual-- but she isn't planning on fighting any evil today. it's just a nice day to fly.

[She still can't believe she's here, planets away from her tower. She can't believe she's... Special enough for this. She can't believe any of it, but it's very real; she's starting to come to terms with that.

It's only been a few days, and she's still shy, wandering a foreign planet, constantly on the look-out for someone in need of help.]

[Gliding coolly through the sky and through space with the same lazy, powerful grace that had always characterized his movements was a very, very, very very very large shark. In shape it resembled a Great White, albeit one that was 100 feet long. In color it was a pale, somewhat eerie bone white, rather than the usual mixture of white and dark blue-grey normally found in sharks of this particular shape.

His jaws worked absently as he 'swam', and his eyes were blank and cold, but that was a green glow surrounding him. Life certainly had changed, since the power had found him. In a way his job still was ending distress, albeit on a galactic level instead of just in the ocean for now. And, of course, the ending of that distress did not always take the form he was used to.

Sometimes it quietly amused him - to think that he, the master, would end up any part of something like this.

There was power unlinked with Wizardry in this universe, it seemed. Hardly surprising at the end of it. The chance to explore different worlds, at least, was certainly interesting enough to make up for any inconvenience.]

My lady.

[It was only polite to greet a lantern of a different color, after all. His voice is different then the way that many imagine a shark would sound - not at all angry, or hateful, or violent. Just calmly, politely dry.]

[ Out of all the ways Rock had expected to be saved from the planet Elysium, this was probably the least likely way he had envisioned. He'd been expecting Roll to be the one to come find him, to be the one to go against all odds and come to space to find her brother. But instead, Rock had the amazing fortune of coming across a ring that quite literally changed everything. And now? Now Rock had the ability to do much more good thn he could've ever hoped to accomplished.

Not to mention, he could fly. Through space. Just imagine all the things he could discover...! ]

[Okay, so maybe it was a pretty sucky thing that whoever was after Uncle Barry's super-speed took his super-speed instead, but on the upside? John and Hal'd constructed a temporary Green Lantern ring just for him.

It didn't work as well as Wally might've liked, but it did the job most of the time! The only downside was... no matter how much he tried, he still ran like a normal person. And that SUCKED.

He's patrolling Earth tonight, since he's been told that his power's kind of temporary and he doesn't really want to cause an intergalactic incident... but there's not really anything to do tonight either. If he weren't so determined to be a good kid, he'd just ditch the place altogether.]
