Team Tension

Ideally, a team works like a well-oiled machine, with all the cogs existing in harmony. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that two team members hating each other could easily lead to disaster. But have you ever considered the consequences of two team members liking each other...too much? Love or attraction can be a dangerous force, even when you're on the same side. Can you both be professional? Or is this a reason somebody needs to make a "no intra-team dating" rule?

"Team" is pretty loose here. Superhero team, sports team, debate team, #squadgoals, I don't care.

[I am wondering if we could do a space-station for Gifted Heroes type of thing. That way, it is Luke's 'hometurf', but Hermione still has her magic?]

There's Outer Rim, and then there's Outer Rim, Luke is quickly discovering. He's been on the lookout for months now, trying to find more Force Sensitives - trying to rebuild what the galaxy lost at his father's hands. Something in his dreams drew him here, past all the charted planets in the old Republic's databases (what had survived of them, anyway), and he'd learned along the way to trust his instincts.

Docking at the station had caused a slight hullabaloo. Apparently, what he'd stumbled upon literally in the middle of nowhere was meant to be a secret, and Luke had to hand it to them, they had certainly been well hidden. After days of being trapped negotiating with the man in charge of the station, jumping through hoops and pleading his case, he'd finally been allowed to see the the students, most of whom were around his own age.

He hadn't intended to use it, of course, but they'd still confiscated his lightsaber and blaster, and made him leave R2 with his old, beaten-up X-Wing in the hanger. He feels a little naked when he finally (finally) starts on his way, and makes first stop which is with... Hermione Granger, apparently. She was the brightest, he'd been told, and he could most likely find her in the library.

When he spots an unruly head of hair bent over one of the otherwise empty tables he approaches, hoping he's got the right person. "Hello?"

It was strange being here. Hermione was still adjusting.

She had left home looking for something too. The war had changed her. It had changed a lot of people. And it was only after finding the right spell at the right time that Hermione had used magic to appear in the station.

It had been months ago when she had been questioned by the man in charge. And in that time, Hermione had impressed the instructors of this strange new school. Of course, during that same time, when she was impressing instructors by answering questions quickly, asking for more studies, and getting absorbed in the new education opportunities had not really made her any friends.

She had been selected to help Luke adjust to his new surroundings. Really, the instructors had thought it would be the best -- after all, she had been the new arrival just a few months earlier.

Hermione looks up at the greeting and in typical fashion, her mind immediately went to the task at hand. The task that she was given. "You are late."
