[The truly shitty thing about being a god of sleep is that you tend to miss things. Decades pass during naps. Sure, he had some amount of prophecy - Apollo just loved to preside over that one, but who brought dreams of the future to the mortals? His sons, because of him, thanks.

This was a total crapshoot though.

Things that were also terribly unpleasant - being a child of Night and having to deal with a shithole of a too bright desert. If he knew what the fuck was even going on Hypnos would have been tempted to just find a shady patch and curl up for the next hundred years and hope he woke to something more pleasant, but having no idea what was going on and a shortage of shady patches, well.

First things first, find a helpful mortal. Specifically find a mortal and make them be helpful.

Yet another problem, every mortal he'd found so far had been rather decidedly already dead, and his brother was nowhere to be found in spite of that.

With a heavy heart, Hypnos approached yet another body littering the roadway. Well, this one was all in a singular piece, that was something. He had no idea what was going on with that shiny gunk around his mouth, was it sickness? Ew. Still, he reached out, was fairly gentle in opening an eye to check and holding a hand above his mouth to feel for breath.

Jackpot, this one was still alive! Just barely, but just barely meant not Hades' yet meant fair game.

Healing mortals from the brink of death was particularly exhausting after waking, but his other option was sit around and hope Thanatos showed to take this one, and of that there was no guarantee. With a concentrated expenditure of power, broken bones knit back together, flesh regrew, organs returned to functioning at better than previous capacity.

He missed the whole water wars thing, Hypnos had no idea what the illness among the warboys was or that it was theoretically supposed to be there. He just fixed this one up as good as humans were last he saw them.]
