[ to hawke, it's a real twist of fate that she meets cassandra pentaghast. she knew the woman was at skyhold when she traveled there to talk to the inquisitor but she hadn't had time to say anything. instead she was in and out like the wind and it was only by chance that the inquisitor brought her along to crestwood. it was down to business after that though, very little time for chit chat but on a whim, hawke tagged along from crestwood back to skyhold and found herself talking to cassandra fucking pentaghast. she can safely say she didn't expect it.

they're on horses, trotting along at a comfortable pace and varric is up ahead talking to the inquisitor himself (obviously not on a horse though because that'd just be silly). hawke's not good with silence or lack of company so she falls into pace besides cassandra and takes on her most charming tone. she's curious, incredibly curious about the woman but she's wary since even with varric's stories, cassandra seems formidable and torn on her opinion over hawke specifically. it makes hawke feel discomforted in a way she can't quite place. ]

so he starts hanging around the exorcist, despite the potential danger that comes with it (or because of it); follows him like a puppy, though usually keeping a safe distance. today is different, however. he feels particularly bored, and in need of excitement -- and who better to provide it than his new toy?

the first thing he does is grab rindo's hand, completely out of nowhere; silent approaches are kind of his specialty, and he grins, woving their fingers together to prevent swift escape. ]
