Patch You Up
shipping meme

Let's hope you're not squeamish. Even if you are, you're going to have to power through it, because your crush, significant other, lover, or fellow practitioner in romantic tension has been battered and bruised. The degree of severity, from a minor scrape to a life-threatening injury, can vary, as can the reason - they may even be hurt because of you. If that's the case, you have all the more reason to tend to their wounds with your own two hands.
No one can take care of them like you can.
Bust out the bandages, even if they don't want you to worry over them or can't believe that anyone would. Though it's not your intention, if you're genre savvy, you may know that your best Florence Nightingale may be the final push if you're not together-together.
That's assuming if you both don't pass out from botched first aide before any of that happens. Don't forget that a kiss to make it better is critical!
- Comment with your character, preferences, and the role you'd like to play - the injured or the attending. Also, would you like a pre-established relationship? One just on the cusp of becoming realized? Etc?

- Thread.
I hope you don't mind where the thread is going. If not, let me know.
"I said I would be there to patch you up. I'm surprised that you came back. I can't lie, what I saw, scared me. I guess I couldn't deal with that. But somehow? I saw the good in what you were doing...after the fact." Claire busies herself by prepping the needle and threading it.

Matt managed a smile. "Claire I get it," he says softly, "what I do is dangerous and you got hurt because I got sloppy and cocky. It hurt when you walked away, but it was a wake up call too."

Matt takes in a deep breath trying not to shiver. His skin is super sensitive and the light kiss heads south pretty quickly. "Claire," he whispered, "I never stopped falling."

He kisses her back keeping the touch of lips sweet and gentle. "I want to stay," he whispers against her lips, "I need someone to keep me on the straight and narrow."

[OOC: If you want to take this off comm, we can.]

"I'll take your word for it," Matt says, "and Foggy's too. Since I can't really see my own smile."
[OOC: I don't mind keeping things here.]

Claire finishes up, tying off the last stitch, snipping the thread. She wants to laugh, but more bloodshed would ensue, if that needle was thrown in the hilarity. She promptly puts down the instrument and does just that.
"I walked right into that one, didn't I? Oh, Matt..." She grins. "But, you are a charmer, devilish even..." She just can't help smiling. "Let me put some antibiotic cream on it and a bandage and you'll be all set."
Re: I hope you don't mind where the thread is going. If not, let me know.
Matt's grin widens because he can hear his joke has hit it's mark and he loves it. "Helps disarm people when the blind guy ends up being charming. Besides my dad always said a Murdock isn't a Murdock without his charm."

"He'd be glad I became a lawyer," Matt says, "the night time stuff he'd be less happy about. He never wanted me to learn how to fight or use my fists for anything. He'd give me an earful for putting my neck at risk. He'd like you thought."
Re: I hope you don't mind where the thread is going. If not, let me know.
"I just shook my head. Sorry. He would like me, huh? What makes you so sure?" Claire now done with her repair, sits next to him on her couch.

"I heard," Matt says with a smile, "your hair brushes your collar when you do it. And yes he would like you. You'd remind him of my mom. She had a lot of opinions and was not shy at all about sharing them."
Re: I hope you don't mind where the thread is going. If not, let me kno
"I hate to ask, but what happened to your Mom? Is she still alive?"
Re: I hope you don't mind where the thread is going. If not, let me
Matt considers the question before he answers it. "Yes," he says, "she is. I don't know the full story of how she and my dad broke up, she's never told me. But it was bad enough she decided the Church had more faith in her then she did."
