Part of the charm of being in a relationship isn't found in the amor, the grand shows and trapping. Contentment can just as easily come from the little things - or even the silly things - about being close to someone. At first, you're either naturally standoffish or wary or you're intent on impressing them and not looking like a total nerd. That's how the "getting to know you" process works, unfortunately. As you get more serious...you may actually get less so? Maybe you'll let them see your dorky humor, your weird laugh, your bizarre hobbies, your bed head. It could end up that the two of you have more fun playing video games together, Netflixing and chilling, baking cookies, or sword fighting (if you're in the olden days, where Netflix and cookies are scarce). And, really, you can't help that their clothes are so comfortable on you.

It's a good thing you guys are together. You really did gain a best bud.

[32 year old mafia boss with a history of one night stands with random girls. Dating wise I feel like him having a male partner he doesn't have to feel too guilty for getting caught up in his dangerous life. Assumed CR is obviously a-ok. However they got mixed up with an Italian mafia boss who makes frequent trips to Japan.

He also trips over his own feet. Or air. But he's gotten better at it. Really At least he's got a massive fluffy jacket begging to be stolen.]

[ It's one thing to be curled up next to Dino out of neccessity because they were lost and it was snowing and Xanxus hates the cold, but now he's finding himself with his face pressed against the middle of the blonde's naked back in a room of a tiny village they found after risking hypothermia to get there.

So, okay, he's leeching heat off of Dino, but it is mildly affectionate. In it's own way.

He's not sure what to do about the urge to just cuddle Dino or do things he normally only reserved for the shark...

It's why even though his face is smooshed against the edge of a tattoo, he has his arms wrapped around Dino's waist and is out right purring his pleasure. Maybe, he thinks, he'll take a shower and actually get dressed and wander around in the cold and drag Dino behind him because please, he did want to know the area they're in better.

He thinks he saw a bakers shop on the way to the inn anyways. He could do with something to eat, especially if he can't have steak yet. ]

[While Dino's gotten used to the cold over time thanks to his frequent visits to japan, it's not like he's ever really enjoyed the snow too much. Especially without his precious jacket, which had unfortunately gotten lost. With clothing not nearly fitting for the horrible weather they were stuck in, he had never been happier that Xanxus is basically a walking space heater.

Even if he'd much rather prefer the Varia boss within reach of his arms to wrap himself around and leech heat off of, the warmth against his back is just as welcomed. And maybe he's a little guilty. It's obvious who's fault it is they got lost in the first place, when Dino had been positive that they'd been heading in the right direction...

Well, nothing to do about that now, especially with his satellite phone broken. Again. He fully blames the cold weather for his resurfacing bouts of clumsiness, and it has him sulking just a bit. Or had, until he had a purring liger against him.]

I hope Romario isn't too worried we missed the check in.

[Because what else is there to say? The silence was getting too awkward for his liking and anything else he really wanted to say was likely to get him hit or burned.]

[ Xanxus snorts, rubbing a slightly stubbly cheek against his back again and thinks about what to say.

They're going to be worried, he knows that. Squalo's probably throwing a fit, even more of one when he heard that there was a blizzard and Xanxus and Dino were unprepared. He has no doubts there's going to be mafia combing through the area around where they had last been located. Their tracks would be gone and he knows if they stayed there they probably would've been fine, but Xanxus doesn't do well with snow or any form of cold. It was his fault they left the spot, because really, Xanxus needed to move and try to find somewhere to get warm.

This is just shitty luck, really. Then again, it gave him a reason to kick the shit out the runt as it was his demand-phrased-as-a-request that he go with Dino just in case. He's not sure if he even believes that this wasn't the intending result. He distrusts the Decimo when it comes to vague shows of force to get him to relax somehow.

So he sighs, scrapes his teeth along Dino's shoulder blade and finally responds to him. ]

Tch, they're probably expecting us to be late during the fucking blizzard. Not like they don't know we both weren't dressed for it. [ It's another reason why he thinks this is a setup, they weren't dressed for it. It would've forced them to move and find the village to get out of it. He's not complaining though, not really. It's rare he's outwardly okay with latching onto Dino and share his body heat with him. ] We'll have to go out at some point. Get me alcohol and shit to see if I can fix the thing you did to the phone, stupid clumbsy trash.
