A Tiny Meme



Things always get interesting when you have someone small enough for another to hold in the palm of their hand. Whether they have a big protector to guard them, someone looking for their big fortune through exploiting such a tiny and vulnerable person, maybe a stranger just trying to deal with a very weird discovery.

Instructions are simple.

It's Natural
1. Borrower The tiny people who live under the floorboards and in the walls, living off the little things that humans don't notice going missing.
They stay out of sight, or at least they're supposed to.
2. Wrong World Maybe it's the top of the beanstalk, maybe it's an alien world, but people around here are sure bigger than they were back home and while you haven't changed, you're still kind of tiny around here.
3. Fairy When fairies, leprechauns, and the like are involved, things are sure to get interesting. Tiny, yes, but not nearly as vulnerable as their more human counterparts.

Now That's a Change
1. Science! Whether it's a shrink ray or an accidental chemical spill, someone's getting shrunk down to a more manage-able size.
2. It's a Curse You've ticked off a witch, fae, or some other magic user,a nd now there's something you've got to do to get them to turn you back.
3. Alice Shouldn't have eaten that. Has eating anything with 'eat me' on it ever ended well? The cake makes you very small, the bottle makes you very tall.
4. Just Woke Up You don't know what caused it, just that you woke up and now you're trying to find a way out of your suddenly huge pajamas.

Situation
1. Discovery The big people around you might not have known you were there/tiny before, but now they do!
2. Partnership It might not be normal, it might be, but you work with these people so much bigger than you.
3. Ownership Someone so little doesn't have all the rights of a normal person, right? Maybe it's a secret, maybe it's the norm, but you own them. Or you could be the one owned.
4. Relationship Difficult or not, you're going to make this work. On the bright side, you only have to buy one movie ticket, right?
5. Reverse it! Well you don't want to stay tiny forever, right? Better get onto finding a cure.
6. Not quite tiny Instead of someone being shrunk, or being tiny, you've got a giant on your hands. Have fun with that.
7. Kinky So what if they're such a different size, you're going to find some way to get it on and nothing's going to stop you.

[It had been a few days since Gareth had a chance at sneaking out and scoring some food; the human hadn't so much as left him an opening in that long, and he was getting kinda desperate.

Poking his head out from the hole in the floorboards, he looks around, before hefting himself up onto the floor to start scouting, satisfied the coast was clear...

...For now.]

[The problem was that Dean Winchester did not in fact have much in the way of personal belongings. There was an armada of weapons, his car, his clothes... and of course the research and other crap the Men of Letters had gathered up and left here - he didn't count their stuff as his stuff though. He did however have a handful of mementos, they were items that reminded him of friends and family, places and events, possibilities. So, when one of them went missing, Dean knew something was up and he was going to find out where it went.

At the same time, Dean also noticed some of his food getting tiny little nibbles taken out of it. Sounded like a mouse to him. That was fine, because he was a hunter, so he was just going to catch a mouse and find out where it was storing the stuff it gathered.

He'd been tracking Gareth for the past few days, and at last Gareth came out of hiding. Dean smiled, not yet noticing it wasn't in fact a mouse. He blocked off the way Gareth came out of (as well as some other potential escape routes ahead of time). A boot slammed down right in front of Gareth.]

Gotcha ya furry little bastard! Thought you could-... Wait a second.

[Dean seems to realize, it's not a mouse.]

The little man, who couldn't be more than an inch tall, bounces off the leather of Dean's boot, landing on his rear.]

[And then he's scrambling to his feet, starting to run, using the human's own boot as cover.]

2 - A whole new world.

[Steve McGarrett opens the door to the deserted bedroom in the abandoned house. He frowns, breathing in the stale air in the warm Hawaiian afternoon. He takes a step in, boot thudding against the wooden floorboards, them creaking under his weight.

There was a reason he was here; There was a disappearance, and he needed to find out what had happened.]

[Magic has a nasty habit of being unpredictable. Magic portals are even worse, you never know where you're going to end up - or in this case, how. One minute, Dean had been back home in Kansas, then he stepped through that portal, and here he was in Hawaii (though he wasn't currently aware of that fact).]

Where-? [His question cut off when the whole Earth seemed to move. And then it moved again. A door opened, and Dean's eyes widened.]

Oh, you have got to be kiddin' me. Giants? Giants are a thing now?! [He went to turn back to the portal, but it was gone, he was left stranded here as those huge feet made their way closer. The floorboards groaned under the weight of the giant stranger.

Most stories, fables, mythologies, etc. had at least a little truth to them from his experience, and given what he knew of giants, he decided it best to find somewhere to hide, so he went sprinting across the floor towards an old table leg.]

He scans the room, frowning slightly, not seeing much.]

Varric had sent some in his own words 'magic shit' to Bethany and she was studying the artifacts sent to her. Unfortunately, as she gracefully touched one accidently, a blue gate portal sucked her in. As quickly as it did the portal ejected her from it and disappeared.

"Maker, no. I'm stuck here."

Bethany may or may not be able to fully appreciate where she is and what, relatively speaking, it makes her. But at the moment she seems to be standing behind a smooth and hard surface, in the shadow of a white, monolithic, pedestal-like structure as tall as she is and about half as tall again.

It might seem merely alien and eerily quiet. But then, in the distance, there it comes. THUD. THUD. THUD. The sounds grow quickly nearer to where she now stands - too fast, really, for the mystery of what it is to be anything other than short-lived.

For that's when any doubt about what's happened to her should evaporate. An enormous hand descends from the sky and sets a smaller rectangular object atop the pedestal. It belongs to a short-haired blonde woman, who looks to be a hundred feet tall.

She presses her other finger against the large rectangle and turns in the opposite direction to go about her business, unaware of what the resulting noise might do to any poor soul around it. Or, indeed, that there might be any poor souls around it.
