Vampires have nests. But none of those have connections that can compare to the bond of a werewolf pack. You should know. You're part of one, either born a werewolf or turned. For humans, blood is thicker than water; for wolves, the pack is to the bone. Of course, with humans, romantic relationships can complicate closeness of other sorts. That's not the case with werewolf pairings, as they tend to grow out of natural pack dynamics and are viewed as just another facet of life. The only difference is that werewolves tend to treat relationships, even potential would-be-mates, with extreme seriousness. The pack was everything he had. It was a dangerous world out there and he knew he wouldn't be able to survive out there. However because of that there wasn't much options as far as mates came. Which lead to him having to pair up with Jackson of all people. He wasn't particularly high on his list but there was no other choice. So he had to deal with it. Maybe it could work out though.

"So... uhm... you okay?" he questioned and looked over at Jackson. His mate whom had been decided to him by circumstance. He felt as if he was fumbling through the dark here.

God he hated Derek right now but there wasn't anything he could do to argue with the powerful former Alpha, not without getting into a fight Jackson knew he wouldn't win and would end up hurt but Scott, really?

Jackson sighed more out of annoyance at the situation than anything else after being told that the only one left to be McCall's mate was him. Did he like the idea, of course not but he really couldn't do anything about it.

"In general, yeah." He replied as he ran a hand through his hair. "With the situation, not really but it ain't like we can do something about it."

Scott hung his head a little. He'd understand where Jackson was coming from. It felt awkward to be bunched together with him like this but it was necessary. Neither of them enjoyed it though. There was a bit if disconnect inside of him as his wolf had found itself in this situation much faster and aceepted it. He guessed it didn't have tge same human boundaries.

"Yeah, I understand. But here we are, I guess," he replied and shifted closer with hesitation. He wasn't even sure how this worked.

"What you thinking about?" He then asked.

"Yep, here we are," and annoyingly his wolf didn't seem to mind it as much as his human self did.

Jackson didn't remark about Scott moving closer to him, in fact the closeness had a calming effect on what was normally a raging beast trapped within him as his hand found itself slightly touching the other werewolf's.

"That I pity whoever's stuck with Lydia and her obsession with The Notebook."

"Hm yeah. Not sure how this is supposed to work," he admitted. Because they were both male and as such Scott wasn't too sure how it wouod work. Both physically and mentally. That last concern may have more to do with him and Jackson not being the best buds.

When their hands touched it firmly brought Scott out of his thoughts. He looked down at Jackson's hand with curiouness. It was liie a spark inside and he felt his wolf getting excited. But his human side hesitated.

"Never seen that movie," Scott commented on Lyida's choice. He wasn't too sure how Aiden would manage with that. Or Lydia.

[Hurrah! Well, we could say that Remus has been tasked by the Order of the Phoenix to infiltrate werewolf society to get a sense of how many of them are actually terrible people? I see your Derek is from after he stops being an alpha and leaves Beacon Hills, but he still seems to know a bit about werewolf society so maybe Remus has tried to befriend Derek to gain access to werewolf culture? I don't want to foist the whole Voldemort vs. Dumbledore dichotomy on you, but maybe Derek knows which werewolves are baddies and which aren't?

Also Derek is a different sort of werewolf from Remus and he has some semblance of control over himself during the full moon, so maybe he can sort of keep Remus grounded and not quite so crazy while he's wolfy? Although I see on your permissions that you don't prefer writing fights... is there any situation you'd like to do in particular, relating to any of the prompts or otherwise?]

[ If you'd prefer an Alpha, I can work with that. But I like the idea of Remus befriending Derek to gain access to werewolf culture - Derek's a born wolf, so there would be stuff he knows, either from being around it so long or personal experience, that would help Remus. And he knew the Alpha pack was full of bad guys, so it makes sense he'd know who were baddies and who were on the better side.

I can write fights, I'm just not very good at them, especially now - a bit rusty with action sequences. If you don't mind that, I would be fine with writing fights - I really like the idea of helping Remus keep control and stay a little more grounded during the full moon, especially if he was struggling with it/still newer at it or something (the potions that Snape brewed - those were a fairly recent discovery, right?) I have no other ideas, honestly, so I'd totally be willing to go with that route. ]

And Derek can be a loner or still an Alpha, whichever you prefer. Remus would definitely still need help during the full moon because he loses his mind entirely when he transforms and the Wolfsbane potion won't be available to him for another decade. Usually he still deals with his transformations by locking himself up and attacking himself in fury all night. Faced with another werewolf like Derek, Remus's wolfish side would definitely attack and not give in until completely subdued. If you're cool with that, would you like me to start a thread? I can start it in my journal or in a musebox if you'd prefer.]
