Uncle Ford said not to tell anyone! [Even as it comes out, his voice desperate and cracking a little, he regrets it a little. It sounds like he's blaming Ford, and he isn't. If Ford wanted to keep it secret, there's a good reason for it, and if Dipper hadn't been stupid enough to let Mabel run off with the wrong backpack, things would have been just fine.] He trusted me! And... and I trust him! You should too, since he's the only one who has a chance at stopping Bill.

[Not that he expects Stan will understand how much that means to Dipper. If Stan understood how much meeting the Author of the Journals means to Dipper, what gaining his trust and even respect have meant to him, he would never have hidden the first two journals from Dipper. He would have just told Dipper what was going on in the first place.

And really, it's not like Stan has any room to talk. Sure, Dipper's forgiven him for lying about the Author and the Journals. He's forgiven him for the fact that he spent the first part of the summer never admitting the supernatural was real. But that doesn't mean he's forgotten.]
