And you don't know why but you're dying to try, you wanna kiss the girl.
![]() Here's the thing: this person is completely, totally, absolutely into you. You're into them, admit it or not. And the icing on the cake? This, right now, is the moment. Whether there's romance in the air on a perfect date or it's an uncomfortably inappropriate time and place, you know there will never be an opportunity like this again. There's sparks. There's a connection. They're giving you A Look that melts your heart. All you have to do is make a move. You can do that, right? ...right? You're not too stubborn or too shy to do so, are you? This is your shot! But - wait. Oh no. Are you the kind of idiot who can't take a hint even if there are blaring neon arrows pointing you in the right direction? Hopefully, fingers crossed, you aren't. Because, like we said, you have to seize this once in a lifetime opportunity. No one likes to have to kick themselves down the road for not taking a chance, after all.

Go remembers once getting in a pretty bad wreck on his bicycle when he was a kid, and having to go to the hospital for a whole bunch of xrays. As the old nurse moved him around the pain kept getting worse and worse, until he was near in tears, and finally, as she was moving him, he just put his arms around her and leaned into her, needing a hug, needing some sort of physical comfort. Wanting his mom there, wanting his sister there. Wanting comfort so desperately in that moment that he'd hug a stranger just to get a fraction of that.
Hayase's not a stranger though. Go's visited him many times in the hospital, with and without Shinnosuke. They've laughed together and Hayase has listened to his worries and concerns and troubles, and Go's listened to a few of his in turn. Hayase's comfort isn't that of a stranger, isn't a substitute for someone else's (and Go would never use Hayase as just a replacement for Shinnosuke, that would be cruel to both of them).
Hayase's arms around his waist are Hayase's.
After a moment, Go realizes he's started to breathe in time with Hayase. A slow, regular pattern, and gradually - very gradually - the pain is starting to subside again.

Go starts to relax into Hayase's arms, and they're close enough that Hayase can even feel Go's pulse where his neck is tucked up under Hayase's chin. And it's slowing down too- not in a dangerous way. His pulse sounds healthier now, as the pain is obviously subsiding some.
"Okay now?" He says softly. "Feeling a little better?"
It's been at least fifteen minutes by now, and Hayase knows those pain pills pretty well, so he's guessing he's got seven to ten more minutes before Go stops feeling much of anything at all.
"Can you stand up for a minute?" He asks gently, not wanting to push if Go still needs the physical comfort.

Go's not sure if he can stand on his own, not that he's putting a lot of his weight on Hayase or anything, but he is steadying him a lot. He nods though, and pulls back slowly, swaying a bit and then finally settling fully on his own feet.
"I'm sorry you have to worry about all..." Go gestures at himself, at his side. "This."
