1. Love at First Sight...or, at least, Interest. Hey little mama, let me holla at you. 2. Gradual. Your interest in this person is growing after getting to know them. 3. Excitement and FREAKING OUT. Oh my gosh, there's absolutely nothing you'd rather do than spend time with this person you want everything to be perfect oh gosh oh gosh. 3. Hormonal. Girls are so weird but they look so nice. 4. BFF to BF Your friendship is becoming/has become more than that. 5. Secret Crush You can't let you liking the head cheerleader or the king's daughter get out. It would be a disaster. 6. What is this...Love Thing? I don't understand love. What is love, baby don't hurt me --- 7. Unacceptable Your brain is betraying you and making you have gross emotions towards that person. 8. You Totally Like [blank]. Everybody knows your little secret. Guess it's not a secret, then. 9. MY LIFE IS OVER. You embarrassed yourself, so clearly no one will ever love you ever again. 10. Grouchy. Or Stunted. Remember how I said not just silly kids can get crushes? This is for all the adults who are finally feeling that fluttery feeling in their chest. 11. Dumb Shows of Affection. You want to show how much you care. These thoughtful gestures can range from not-so-dumb (she likes cookies, I'll buy her one!) to really dumb (I'LL BUY HER A LIFETIME SUPPLY OF COOKIES). 12. Forbidden Attraction. Everyone knows exes are off-limits. It's, like, the first rule of feminism. Also included are siblings of best friends, best friends, and cute people in general. 13. Ridiculously Over the Top. SHMOOPY POOPY CUDDLE BEAR! All sorts of pet names and inappropriate PDA here. 14. Fluffy Moments. Not necessarily dates, but just hanging out and having fun together. 15. Confession. I REALLY LIKE YOU PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME I carved this rock with my bare hands for you. Or maybe something more subtle. 16. Unwitting Object of Affection. Usually an older party or someone completely uninvolved with this malarky, but crushes know no bounds. 17. Adorable Kisses. Please don't let me miss, please don't bump noses... 18. Sloppy Makeouts. Put on "Stairway to Heaven" and go to town. 19. Arguments. You jerk! Look what you've done! I never want to see you again. 20.First Time Obligatory smut option, touch a boob, etc. 21. ANYTHING ELSE
[OOC: Alright, I'm sort of winging an AU where Sasuke has always been a Beacon student. Let me know if there's anything about this opener you'd like to tweak.]
[Sasuke was used to girls trying to get his attention. Normally he ignored them, because they wanted things that got in the way of what he considered more important (usually training and/or studying). Things he didn't really understand, owing to his past.
But, for some reason, he found himself actually wanting to spend time with Blake. Maybe it was because she didn't seem to want anything from him. Maybe it was because, like him, she tended to be quiet and reserved. Whatever the reason, he didn't feel quite so alone when he was with her, even if they didn't speak for hours.
Like today, where the two found themselves sharing a table at the library and studying for an upcoming exam. Now, normally Sasuke was the type to avoid bringing up difficult things at all costs (there was a lot of his past he hadn't told Blake after all), but he couldn't help but shoot the occasional glance her way, and finally felt compelled to speak.]
Blake, are you alright? Winchester really seemed to get under your skin last period.
[Not that he was, in any form, taking Cardin's side. If she had jumped the desk to wipe that smirk off his stupid face Sasuke wouldn't have minded. He'd have backed her up, even.]
[It was nice finally having some much needed quiet time even if studying for tests seemed so...mundane after the battle with Torchwick.
But, even with life slowly getting back to normal, there's a whole new array of trouble that all came out the moment Weiss decided it was okay to gossip about what was hidden under Blake's bow. Of course Cardin wouldn't say things to her face but his bullying on Velvet almost became a bit harsher, as if trying to call her out to do something. Something to give him an excuse to back his claims on how Faunus are nothing but animals...
Hearing her study partner's voice ring out, after staring at the same page for about a hour, she snaps out of it and casts a glance over to him.]
It's just Cardin being Cardin.
[Leaning back in her chair, she folds her arms across her chest.] That obvious something's wrong, hm?
[Sasuke glanced over at the book in her hands.] I'm pretty sure that if it were possible, you would have set that book on fire with your glare.
[It was probably a good thing that was their last class of the day. He looked down at the book spread out on the desk in front of him, gave it a measured stare, and then abruptly closed it before returning his attention to Blake. He could be pretty self-absorbed at times, but even he could tell something was up.]
Normally you give that guy about as much time as he's worth. [Sasuke gave her a long, measured look, similar to the one he'd given the book earlier.] Is it because he was pushing Velvet around again?
[It hadn't escaped his notice that it always seemed to get a rise of some kind out of Blake, even if he wasn't entirely sure why. As far as he knew she rarely spoke to the rabbit Faunus, although it wasn't like he was around her 24/7.]
If only that skill were possible. [No need to keep up her charade any longer then.
Closing her book, she sets it down with a bit of a thump coupling with another small annoyed sigh. She's been doing it a lot lately and even she's getting tire of it.]
He's trying to call me out, I think... I've spent so long hiding that I'm-- one as well and someone had to go blab their mouth around and now the whole school knows and I just- still want to be looked at as just...me; not a Faunus.
But I am also mad he's picking on her more. Thankfully her teammates seem to be more than willing to punch him in his throat.
It's just...aggravating. [It comes out almost as a tired cry before laying her head down on the table with a small thump and groan. The bow on her head gives the smallest of twitches but she's learn to control her ears a bit more from random movements.]
[Ah. That would do it then. As she vented, Sasuke merely listened - he wouldn't pretend to understand what it was really like being a Faunus (he'd never been treated that way after all), but he could certainly understand her frustration with being singled out.
When she laid her head down, she looked so miserable that for a moment he was at a loss for what to do. He wanted to do something, his hand briefly twitching in her direction before settling in his lap. Sasuke had never been the demonstrative type - blame it on his upbringing. All he could really offer her were words, meager as they were.]
For what it's worth, you'll always be just Blake to me. [Not 'Blake, the Faunus' or 'Blake, That Girl Who's Always Got Her Nose In A Book'.] I'm sure all your friends feel the same way.
[He was pretty sure she knew that already, but maybe hearing it from someone else would help?]
[Another small twitch on the top of her head happened at his words. They were...oddly kind coming from him.
Raising her head up, she blinks with a curious tilt before giving the faintest of smiles.] Thanks.
A compliment from you is like a rare gift.
It will take time for them to come to terms with, I'm sure, but my team... They're accepting as can be.
I was almost afraid of what you'd think; that our little study sessions would end because I'm- not who I say I am. [She's glad it hasn't though; their study sessions and quiet times were always a great way to relax after a day of chaos, and listening to Yang's puns, Weiss' complaining and Ruby's questions about everything.]
That kind of thing has never really mattered to me.
[And he could say that with complete conviction, too. There was a time in his life where not much had mattered to him besides becoming the best Hunter he could, and even after becoming a bit more socialized at Beacon he could still be remarkably apathetic about things that seemed to matter to the normal people of Remnant.
This happened to be one of those situations where it was a good thing. Probably.]
I wouldn't stop seeing you for a stupid reason like that.
[It was strange how important these study sessions had become to him. It was such a silly, tiny thing, really. It had started out of convenience, but now he actually looked forward to seeing her at the end of the day. Part of him was a little scared at the thought, honestly, a traitorous voice whispering that bonds make you weak...but he quickly quashed that line of thinking.]
Then you're a lot better than majority of the people now a days. [Or that's her own bias from past reactions to other people seeing her ears when she was a child.]
But that's nice to know and...a little bit assuring.
Mm. [An optimist might have tried to correct her. Sasuke was not, by any measure, an optimist. Instead, he glanced over at the books and other supplies laid out on the table, then back to Blake, before seeming to come to a decision.]
I don't think we're going to make any progress today, and we've still got a week. How about we go somewhere else?
[Up to now they hadn't spent a whole lot of time together outside of the library. To be honest Sasuke didn't have a whole lot of experience at activities that didn't involve books or stabbing (or mock-stabbing) things. But he was willing to make an honest effort, at least. He rose from his seat, apparently already having something in mind.]
[Gold eyes cast a glance over and watched him when stood up. She follows his lead and begins stacking some of the books so it will be easier to find them again since- well- only hey seem to come back there for the purpose of studying.]
Was there somewhere you had in mind?
I'm afraid myself and my team are...sort of under close watch due to all the collateral damage we've raked up.
