[ever since Nozomi had reached out to her when they went to the beach, Maki has not been able to stop thinking about her. certainly, they saw each other everyday, because of practice and shows, but her thoughts went beyond that. Maki would be at home, doing her homework, or eating dinner, and then she'd wonder what Nozomi would be eating, or if she had done these same English assignments.
even when Maki was practicing on her own, the raven-haired senior would enter her thoughts. would Nozomi like this music? is Nozomi practicing projecting?
...it was so annoying.
Maki couldn't stop thinking about her, and she didn't know why. she wanted to know more about her, but could barely get up the courage to talk to her outside of μ's practice. what had she meant when she had said she couldn't leave Maki alone? Maki thought she'd understood before, but the statement was still driving her crazy. she'd go to bed frustrated, still thinking about something Nozomi had done hours earlier.
this was getting out of hand. but what could she do? Maki is horrible at expressing her feelings, particularly ones she doesn't understand.
and then, one day not long after their summer overnight trip, the girls are at practice, and they need to break into groups of two to do stretching exercises. immediately, Maki's eyes dart over to Nozomi, but she doesn't say anything. still, it's hard to miss that stare, an expression laced with confusion, but also determination. shy, but also heated]

[It's the weekend, and it's the tail-end of summer where the days are still warm and bright but getting more orange around the edges-- especially now, when the sun's low and casting shadows miles long. So of course that means driving with the top down, because fuck it, it'll be cold and disgusting soon, she has to make the best of it. For the moment, a case of neon drinks is taking up the passenger seat, because what kind of friend would she be if she just dropped in without treats?
(There's more, waiting back at her apartment, but that's getting ahead of herself.)
It doesn't take long to reach her destination, and she parks at the curb and vaults out-- no one's going to steal a car right out front of this place, they know better-- and makes her way towards the garage, soda in hand. ]
Hey! Kaaazu!
[Singsong yelling is always the best way to get someone's attention. Or a particular someone's, really.]

[ ... saying that fenris was unaccustomed to wooing amounted to the grand understatement of the century.
perhaps that's why the other members of hawke's ragtag circle of friends have begun offering up (entirely unsolicited) advice on the subject. varric has been slipping him copies of some of his best selling romance stories and looks that straddle a fine line between meaningful and amused and smug. merrill has been cheerfully fluttering between several suggestions, which have included the idea of braiding flowers into hawke's beard, performing a romantic ballad, or finding some way of procuring a dragon hatching for hawke to have as a pet. and isabela has offered up the explanation (and occasional crude drawing) of what seems like several hundred sexual positions and implements that she's convinced will get the point across quite nicely, gleefully insisting that the only payment she requires for her (entirely unwanted) aid is the opportunity to watch (and take vigorous notes). so far, aveline is the only one that offers him any advice that's even close to helpful -- suggesting that fenris maybe tell hawke how he feels -- but, then again, fenris doesn't think that anyone is likely to forget the copper marigolds debacle at any point in the near future.
and after he only manages to struggle through a scant chapter of varric's book before he hurls it abruptly into the fire, pens out a few shaky lines of something that's meant to be a love poem (and that goes in the fire just as quickly), and convinces himself that no living being could possibly bend in the manners that isabela was suggesting, fenris simply decides to take the path of courtship that seems most natural to him.
namely, he shows up a few hours late for their usual wicked grace night at the hanged man, promptly drops the bound and squirming body that he's been dragging through kirkwall on top of the cards spread out all over the table, and turns to face hawke with the sort of chest-puffing pride that resembles a mabari that's just brought its owner a particularly prized bit of game. ] Here..
The leader of the group of slavers that's been targeting the children in Darktown. [ and he pauses long enough to dig an elbow into the man's gut, effectively shutting up the muffled protests that have begun anew. ] ... and the man who tried to have you poisoned a fortnight ago.
[ this is obviously how you woo someone, varric's books be damned. ]

hawke reflects deeply on all the terrible life choices that have led him to this moment

[HAVE YOU SEEN RYU ANYWHERE?]
[ here's A ryu.... sorta.
It was complete coincidence that Ryuunosuke wound up catching Sakura training while out making deliveries for the tea shop, and a complete compulsive urge that sent her challenging the young street fighter to a quick match. Of course, Ryuunosuke lost, but she was mad impressed by Sakura's moves. She definitely, definitely wanted to see her again.
It was weird when Ryuu thought about it, how much her encounter with Sakura rocked her to her core. Nobody at her school, especially another girl was so into fighting, and the way that Sakura moved, so enthusiastically, in a seifuku no less just kept popping up in her head. What the hell was that?
Sitting nearby on a swing, having finished up her rounds for the day, she decided to go watch Sakura train for a bit. Which... is when she went ahead and asked. ]
Hey, I gotta know... why're you workin' so hard like that?
[ She couldn't understand it. A girl working so hard at being a good fighter, instead of... who knows, whatever else. ]

I am so sorry for being late with this OTL Thank you for tagging me!
As promised! Let's do a mixed bag of 11, 14, 15 and other floof?
[Well it'd been a while since they'd started really going out, but it was still new for Rei. And she was still just a little bit awkward about some of this stuff. Especially, well...words. There were some words she'd been trying to find a way to say for the last month at least, but every time she'd tried something had stopped her. It was troubling, and she meant to fix it today.
So, she'd taken the time to go out and get a few things, determined to butter her lover up and confess what she needed to say. And with that done, bag in hand, she strode confidently (outwardly) up the stairs and knocked. Inside, though, she was a bundle of nervous energy, her heart practically vibrating so loud that anyone could hear it, not just a fellow psychic.]

Hey Tadashi-kun! [Gou happily walks her way over to where the older man was currently tinkering away at something as he usually did fingers clutching a colorfully wrapped bento box to her chest which she sets on the table for him.]
I came over to drop off your lunch. [It was a habit that she started a while back when she first found out that Tadashi sometimes skipped a meal or two because of his passion for robotics. Gou has since dedicated on making him his meals when she could and she enjoyed being able to improve her cooking skills especially if it meant that he would enjoy it. It felt nice to see someone who she secretly harbored a crush on eat her cooking.]
U-Uhmm! Can we talk? [Gou surprisingly enough looks dressed to impress with the cute outfit that she has on. She nervously glances away, fingers curling together as she clears her throat softly.] I need to tell you something important. [Today was the day that she confessed her feelings to Tadashi Hamada and whether she got a good reaction or a bad one didn't matter. She just wanted him to know how important he was to her.]
