unexpected domesticity shipping meme. you never thought you'd have a home, at least not one you can call completely yours, no strings attached and no one lording above you or controlling you. you may not have even known what a "home" truly is, or thought you wanted one. now, there is a touch of domesticity in your life, no matter what things are like otherwise, because you have a home, though you may not have a house proper.
most importantly, you now have someone to share this new facet of life with - a partner. similar to you or completely different, relationship unspoken or unrealized, heavily romantic or understated, they are slowly but surely becoming someone indispensable to you. you never could have seen this coming. and, of course, with domesticity comes a certain amount of intimacy, perhaps even the ultimate physical intimacy...you may be open to that already or you're working up to it when you'd hardly considered it before.
whether your situation is for the long term as it stands, could end at any moment, or a mere disguise you're using to lay low, you're getting comfortable. how does that make you feel? will you it accept a new lease on life - or will you sabotauge yourself before someone else does?

[Sure :) I left it vague on how long they'd been living together. I figured established CR rather than a first time meeting was best!]
Lincoln Six-Echo had never had a home or family. At least - not a proper one. Nothing real. Whatever impressions he had of a 'child hood' and growing up were a lie. Implanted memories. He wondered sometimes what it would've been like, to have grown up in a for real family. It was something that always crossed his mind when he saw children playing.
Lincoln, and the other cloned agnates that had been in the isolated colony with him, had been freed. The illusion of their existence had been shattered and there was no more fear of being harvested. In fact, the agnates were given top care, and given further education and places to stay. They were given a chance to have lives. Real ones.
Some of the sponsors took their clones in, while others weren't that lucky. Lincoln's own sponsor was dead. The agnate's who's sponsors weren't living or who did not want to support them were found other places to live. Due to the nature of their isolated dependent upbringing, they were always given people to live with to help them adjust to the 'real' world. In Lincoln's case, he had found himself with a living partner named Felicity. He quickly grew to like as well as respect her. Whether she had volunteered or not, Lincoln was always grateful to be able to live with her.
Though he was naive and carried almost a child like wonder - he wasn't as dependent as some of the agnates tended to be. He was physically a grown adult man, though he had only been alive 3 years. Education-wise, he was at the level of a 15 year old. However he was very bright and intelligent as well as insatiably curious. He never failed to ask questions about the world around him. He was a very quick learner, and enthusiastic and was never a burden. He wasn't clingy by any means and he always respected Felicity's space.
Currently Lincoln was in the kitchen making an attempt at breakfast. He wanted to surprise Felicity as a thank you and at least wanted to show her how much she meant to him. Since he didn't have much experience at cooking he was trying something simple. Bacon, eggs and toast. He had just put the bacon in the frying pan where it sizzled, and he smiled to himself at the delicious smell. He had always liked bacon. And now, he could have it whenever he wanted.
On the kitchen table, he had a sketchbook open where he had been doodling. Coffee was brewing as well, which added to the smell of bacon. That was one of the first things he learned how to make when he started living here. Coffee. He couldn't wait to see Felicity's face when she discovered the 'surprise'.
[ Knocks softly against the door frame, waiting a few seconds of silence before moving to peek inside. Sure, it may be her house, but he still deserved some privacy.
Well. When he was awake, she supposed.
It was the strangest thing, finding him sprawled out and unconscious on her doorstep last night. No form of identification or how he got there in the first place. Even more so that he seemed to be dressed like the people of Wutai.
Yuffie's home village was a long way from Edge. But when she'd asked, he seemed confused at the name and equally unaware of just how he'd found his way to her.
Still, a person in need was a person in need, stranger or not. And he had no place to stay while he recovered from his injuries. If this stranger from distant lands had any nefarious intent, he'd yet to show it. And if he was waiting for the most opportune moment to set them into motion, then well. Tifa would just have to handle that when/if the time came.
[ He hurts all over, is unsure if he's suffering anything worse than chakra exhaustion, but feels it in every fraction of his body. His nerves feel like they're on fire, and he's only just starting to get sensation back in his fingertips.
When she opens the door, he's stood by the window looking nonchalant, though his fingers are lingering by the seam between the sill and the glass, as if he were testing whether it was locked shut or trapped. He doesn't know how he got here and can't remember much that led up to it, so it's understandable that he's just being perhaps a little cautious. ]
Yeah, I'm awake.. [ His voice is quiet, a little grumbly from disuse, but otherwise lacking in any sort of ire. He... feels like he should say something else, but what does one say in a situation like this? ] Thank you. [ That's as good a start as any. God, he's so awkward. ]
[ His answer is greeted with a smile, kind and unassuming. Typical Tifa. ]
Good. I was starting to worry when you stayed asleep for a full day.
[ And, well, she was knowledgeable enough to do quick patch-ups and deal with the occasional scraped knees of children. But Aeris and Marlene had always been the nurses in this rag-tag family of lost souls.
Speaking of... she may or may not be holding a tray of food. Just local fruits and some bread, mostly. Things he could probably easily stomach if he was recovering from something. ]
And this was in case you did wake up. Figured you might be hungry, too, if you were sleeping that long.
[ He's genuinely surprised to see the tray of food. He hadn't assumed the place he'd found himself in would be willing to feed him, more to gain information from him, so the soft and friendly hospitality catches him just the slightest bit off guard. ]
Oh. Thank you. [ That sure is the second time he's said that, and he feels all too aware of that fact, so he coughs to clear his throat and draw attention away from it. ] I don't think I caught your name, or at least I don't remember if I did.
You didn't. [ She said matter-of-factly. ] There. Wasn't really much time for introductions.
[ At least not until just now. He'd been unconscious, after all, when she first saw him. And the bouts of sleep had been unpredictable while he recovered. Still, the old radical in her that had been part of a covert group set on challenging authority hesitated to correct that slight, even now. If only for just a moment.
But Tifa had learned to start taking things on faith since then. And that had yet to steer her wrong. ]
But I guess there's time for that, now. [ Standing up straight, hands firmly planted on her hips, the young woman gave him one of her most winningest of underplayed smiles. And extended out a hand, expectantly. ] Tifa Lockhart, at your service. Welcome to the Seventh Heaven.
