subtle sensuality. You don't always need a big, flashy show of passion to get the point of attraction across. Sometimes, what's implicit can be just as tempting as what's explicit - sometimes, it can be even more so, because what's left to the imagination can be incredibly alluring. Just take a look at the tension rolling off couples in fictional works from the middle ages all the way up to Regency and Victorian eras; even up until the 1960s, showing lovers in bed was rarely done on television, and in certain Asian countries, fictional couples may show affection in a much more subdued way, confusing some western audiences. Still, from these sources, we get some of our most long-standing, most enduring romances, who never did much aside from touch "on screen." Some didn't even kiss, yet the desire between them sizzles. So take a page from the books of old (and new) and leave a little unsaid. It's all about the implied, the fleeting touches, the stolen looks. Are the characters in the thread even together, properly? [There's not much by way of breaks when it comes to training. Which comes as both a good and bad thing. It's a good thing because it gives Joseph something to focus on, so he's not worrying about what's coming or anybody waiting for him back home. Plus, in some ways, he actually likes the training because a) it gives him plenty of chances to show off and b) it lets him get a little competitive when he can convince Caesar to go along with it.]

[But it's a bad thing there aren't a lot of breaks because it means he gets progressively more obstinate as the day goes on. There's an infinite amount of dramatic sighs that momentarily constrict his breathing because of the mask. Which then, of course, launches Joseph into a rant about the breathing mask in the first place. Sometimes it's a loud rant, sometimes it's quiet muttering under his breath. Either way, he starts dragging his heels and starts half-assing things. Which just means he has to keep doing them over and over and over again until he gets them right and only serves to further frustrate him.]

[And then there are other times like this when Joseph very maturely decides to not just sit down but completely lie down on his back and refuse to move. At first it might seem like maybe he's trying to make himself as flat (and thus as heavy) as possible on the ground, but then he decides to fold his arms to emphasize his point. His point very simply being that he is done, dammit.]
