[ Aoba doesn't remember exactly how many drinks he had at the bar, or how he even managed to stumble back to Noiz's place with him, but what he does know is this: he's probably more than a little tipsy and he's not sure if Noiz is any better off, but none of that matters when he's stumbling against Noiz, leaning the entire length of his body into his and pressing himself flush to him.

Curling his arms loosely around his waist, Aoba drops his face to the junction of Noiz's neck and shoulder, inhaling deeply. Noiz smells warm and distinctly like him underneath the clean scent of soap-- from what Aoba can tell past the reek of alcohol from his own breath anyway. ]

"Here," she calls over her shoulder from where she's crouched down by a pile of discarded goods that are no doubt years old. "What do you think?" Tess twists with the object in hand and waits for him to get closer to toss the can of shaving cream his way.

Today isn't anything big, moving out past their area to see what else might be around that they missed over the years of being in that particular quarantine zone. She pushes herself up, hands to her knees, and brushes them off to hook her thumbs in the straps of her backpack. Turning to face him she doesn't think he'll go through with the implied idea, he's had that beard for as long as she's known him. Not once does she remember it gone, but that hasn't stopped her from wondering what her partner's face might look like without the coarse growth of hair covering half his face. If it would be smooth or scarred.

"I got a razor or two back at my place if you want," she adds with a smirk. Moving on to the next bit of anything she can find, she notices that there isn't much left for them to go through and huffs under her breath. Doesn't seem like they'll be walking away with much, unfortunately. Probably best if they head in, the heat is still roasting them in the building and it's nearing curfew by an hour.

Toreth hadn't been lying about having not looked forward to a birthday in a while. Despite Sara's best efforts, it had never really been that important of an event in his life, and by now it had just become a convenient excuse to go and do something for the sake of it. It wasn't as if Warrick hadn't spoiled him the last few birthdays, either, buying expensive presents and offering up fucking fantastic sex, but the things they did had always been surprises, or at least just events that inevitably occurred (because he would be lying if he said he didn't keep an eye on the calendar every now and then, simply because he had this unhealthy fucking obsession with keeping note of Warrick's whereabouts and appointments).

This, however, had been a little different. Warrick had teased about this for fucking weeks, sending messages and dropping innocuous comments about lingerie and fun facts about just how sophisticated the Sim was (it had gotten quite good at interpreting how pain should be translated in clustered tiers when you pulled on an increasing amount of hair, apparently), and it didn't help that the corporate had stayed back late almost every night to get the fucking thing done. Warrick was too exhausted to fuck when he got back to the flat, and on days where he might've been up for it, it was Toreth being generally knackered from clocking in too many hours at I&I thanks to the absolutely nothing waiting for him after work.

Christ, what had he done before he started fucking Warrick?

So now Toreth was experiencing very genuine, very uncharacteristic anticipation about his birthday, a feeling which he put down to finally, we can fuck each other's brains out and things can go back to normal. There was, however, a degree of apprehension to it, as well. The whole time Warrick had teased this, Toreth had been picturing Dillian. Warrick fucking Dillian, Dillian touching herself. Warrick was already strapped into the Sim by the time Toreth made it to SimTech, and so it was a technician strapping him in now. He wondered, briefly, if the technician would be monitoring them the whole time for purposes of research, or whether Warrick had gently told the technician he could kindly fuck off once he was done. Toreth closed his eyes, steeling himself for the transition -- still mildly nauseating, even after all these years -- and holding his breath without even meaning to.
