Life is hard. You can go through rough patches and over bumps, and sometimes it feels as though you're definitely worse for the wear, both physically and mentally. It's nice to have someone - someone more than a friend - there for you in those times...even if you don't think you want them or deserve them. But they're here, and they'll take care of you.

How to Play:
* This is a shipping meme for more tender, soft moments, but a little more serious than your usual "fluff." It's for people who've been broken down by their experience and those who wish to heal them.
* Comment with your character/your preferences. You may also want to specify whether your character will be the one "cared for" or the one doing the "caring" + pertinent information, but for most effectiveness, it's best to be open to both.
* Comment around.

1. Know You've Been Hurt By Someone Else: There are scars left on their heart from a past relationship or fling, and you have to let them know you're not the same way.

He takes the bottles, opening one and setting the other to the side, taking a moment to take a whiff of the contents before filling both glasses.

"So no special occasion? You just missed me, huh?" There's a glint of something like amusement in that worn gaze as he crosses over to pass off one of those glasses.

And yes, he does enjoy draping himself all over him, because he's a big infernal space heater and Daimon's like a damn cat. So when he drops down to sit it's right next to him, resting his back against HB's side so he can prop his legs up over the arm of the couch.

He is like a damn cat. No wonder Hellboy likes him. He shifts, glass in one hand and the other arm draping along the back of the couch as he settles in. If he's going to be furniture, he at least wants to be comfortable while he does it.

"Yeah, you found me out. You never call, you never write..."

"You just don't get into enough trouble without me." He comments, nursing his glass between both palms, letting the liquor take a moment to breathe before he takes an experimental sip.

Both brows go up. "Did you break into your director's liquor cabinet again?"

"You're right. I'd have no excitement at all if you weren't here." Daimon, it ain't poison or anything. He's pretty sure about that anyway.

And c'mon, maybe he did, but-- "Stop askin' questions and drink up. It's good, right?"

Hush you, he's just savoring it a little, it's not like the usual cheap convenience store canned beer they usually grab. He's allowed to be a little hesitant.

"It is good, I just didn't take you for a whisky guy." he finally takes a long pull, even if it burns his throat and leaves a lingering flavor of charred oak on his tongue.

It's nice and warm in the pit of his stomach and he lets his head tip back and eyes close, admiring the complexities of it.

"Next time, I can bring the cheap beer we usually get." He'll even make sure it's the cheapest, just for Daimon.

He shifts a bit, looks down at the half-demon lingering against him for a minute. Well, doesn't he look comfortable "So, what have you been reading up on anyway?"

"As long as you're the one that keeps buyin it." Daimon probably has an entire cabinet full of expensive or one of a kind liquors, but for some reason he likes the novelty of sharing cheap, shitty tasting beer.

He's quiet for a minute, humming thoughtfully. "The end of the world."

Well, wasn't that one of his favorite topics? End of the world. The apocalypse. He's quiet for a few moments, long enough to finish the drink in his hand at least.

"Yeah? What about it?"

"I think we're expecting one." He says it almost casually, but he's probably already run his gamut of hot and cold emotions regarding the subject.

"You can't just say that and not give some details." Expecting one... what.

"Are you tryin' to say there's no way to stop it?"

"Yes and No? Honestly the world comes close to ending on a daily basis around here, this one just seems a bit more..." He hums out a tired out. "Impending-- but I'm told I'm a pessimist."

"Yeah, well... how's it supposed to happen?" Maybe they shouldn't be sitting here, drinking it up, if it's that urgent.

"I'll see what I can dig up."

It's not like the two of them can go off and save the world either, not this time anyway.

"Something about worlds colliding, messy stuff." He says against the lip of his glass, taking another swallow until it's drained.

"Maybe it's a metaphor, you know how divination can be."

"Worlds colliding. That's what you've been holed up in here with? Worlds colliding?"

... Damn.

That was a little bit harder to solve, yeah. How do you stop something like that? But maybe it's wrong. Maybe something else is gonna happen-- something

"... Think we might need another drink."

"That's one way to solve it." He murmurs, rolling his shoulders to push himself up again, this time he just fetches the entire bottle to set on the coffee table after filling their glasses again.

"I don't believe in prophesies, as a rule." He adds, sinking back down against him.

He looks down into his refilled glass thoughtfully for a few moments, considering that.

"Say it does come true, when's it gonna happen?"

He squints at the ceiling, then exhales a sigh.

"Months maybe, a year? I don't know, I had some fucked up dreams and just went looking. Maybe it already happened somewhere else got some shitty feedback."

"Is that why it looks like you haven't slept in a month?" He shifts a bit again, under the slighter weight of Daimon against him and brings his glass back up to his lips.

Months. That's a little too close for comfort. Not the far off threat he was hoping for.

"That sort of flattery will get you no where." He says dryly, and this time the liquor goes down in a few swallows before he passes the glass absently between his hands.

"It could be nothing. I've been wrong before." Not that it stops him from being paranoid, but he doesn't need to rub it off on Hellboy.

"I'll come up with something better later." What, was he supposed to say the red rimmed eyes and the dark circles went with his skin? Come on, Daimon...

"But you should get some sleep."

Like he needed to rub off on him. He was already thinking about it, weighing it in his mind...

"Guess we'll see, right?"

Daimon snorts out an amused sound, missing when he passes the glass back and it tumbles to the floor (though the carpet saves it from breaking.) He doesn't so much as turn his head.

"I should." He'll agree, but that doesn't mean he will. This is a good enough break as any. Besides, it's good to hear another voice besides his own, and after how long?

"Yeah well, it's always been our cards to see through the end of the world so-- I imagine so."

"At least neither one of us is the cause of it?" At least it doesn't sound like it this time anyway. For now, he puts his own glass down, balancing it on the arm of the couch.

Daimon closes his eyes with a disgruntled sound, sinking down further so he can hook his leg over the arm of the couch. It doesn't seem especially comfortable, but he doesn't seem to care much.

"It doesn't seem to be." You'd better believe he'd already looked into that much. But then it was easy to start with what you know and work from there. . .

"You researched that too, huh?"

Hellboy watches him for a minute before settling in. Might as well get comfortable if Daimon's going to be using him as a pillow for a bit. Not like he's got any other place to be at the moment anyway.

Honestly HB should just expect to be used as furniture when he's comes around for any reason other than business (and even then.) But Daimon's kind of drawn to other infernal things like a cat to black slacks.

Besides, this was a long way to come just for a quick hello, and the half-demon seemed to be relieved to have a little company.

"That first. Then prophecies, legends and lore, disturbances in the timeline, little rips in the dimensional fabric, outside manipulation..." He trails off with a shaky exhale and then pushes himself up to sit, groggy, rubbing a hand over his face.

"So what have you been up to?" There's a cheerful transition.
