1. You're turning - it was just an ordinary day right before the fire nation attacked and you got hit with a blue mist. Or whammied by a chick with a crystal. Or just ate a really bad piece of sushi. Or came from space. Your body is being covered by a coccoon and you get to mutate. When you crack out - how do you feel? Surprised? Shock? Were you expecting this? Is this your worst nightmare?

2. what makes you human? - That first scenario where you're faced with what to do with your powers. Do you say screw everybody who still looks normal and keep to yourself or attack others? Or do you do battle against your foe and go on in and fight to save lives?

3. The hunter or the hunted - Are you looking for your own kind (your new kind?) or are you being hunted? Everybody loves superpowers and big bright shiny special effects. Do people want you to work for them (coerced or otherwise?) or do you want your own special super - person team? (that's not always a good thing)

4. The obligatory smut option Just because you're hideously ugly doesn't mean you can't get some. In fact some inhumans might say it's your civic duty if your inhuman abilities are awesome and pure. Alternatively you might be trying to prove to your human partner you're still normal. Will it work? Who knows?

5. Wildcard. Basically you roll for one of the top 3 options (those are a must) then do whatever the hell you want with the results. Have fun!

[Weighing in for the threeish side of two, Shireen wasn't supposed to come out of the mist (long, angsty story involving a power-mad father, she doesn't want to talk about it) but when she did it was sporting some nasty scaly scars down the side of her face. Abandoned and confused, she's now just trying to navigate this alleged gift (hers is nigh omniscience, with a side of selective invulnerability).]

[ In a world of special people, Stannis Baratheon had always been normal. His obsession with being more, with becoming gifted by any means necessary had cost the man his honor, his following, and ultimately, his life.

[ He doesn't think so. Renly, the charismatic mutant who he'd hoped to recruit so long ago, had been Stannis's first victim. ]

[The last thing Shireen remembers, really and truly, is telling her father she'd do whatever she could to help him. She'd never understood his obsessions, never understood his semblances of religion, but she did understand that he was the only thing she had in this world. Her mother had never been close to her, her siblings had all died in a day, she'd never had friends to speak of -- she was loyal to her father, for all his faults.

He'd put her there, or he'd led her there -- that's where it became fuzzy -- his priestess had said things -- and it went dark, so dark, she couldn't --

When she awoke, it was amidst ruins, amidst broken-off stone, and not her father nor any of his people were anywhere to be found. Nobody was. It was her and her alone and all she could do was cry and run her fingers over the cracked-feeling skin of her cheek and wonder what was wrong with her.

[It's ironic, but he'd really be much more comfortable right about now if he had a captive Stannis on his hands, rather than the man's now-orphaned daughter. True, Stannis was a fanatic and a madman, but he was also a soldier. Not to mention a grown man. War is what Exodus knows, it's what he's been practicing since he was scarcely older than this girl herself. He knows how to handle captive soldiers, even if they're important leaders. What he doesn't know is how to handle an innocent little girl, guilty of nothing but carrying the wrong blood in her veins, alone and shivering from the wind.

Wait, scratch that last part. That at least he knows how to handle. Reaching up without hesitation, he pulls his cloak from his shoulders and bends down to drape it over the young princess. It's thick and heavy and much too large for her, but it'll give her protection from the frigid night air.]

You'll want to wear this. It's going to get colder before it gets warmer.

[He doesn't confirm or deny her unasked question, because really, what can he say? That they cut the priestess down as she tried to flee the city? That they found the bodies of her parents, her mother who'd thrown herself to her death and her father who'd been beheaded by parties still unknown? No child needs to hear such things. Nor does she need to hear that the Ghost of Hydra is still hunting for her, intent on flaying the last true Baratheon's skin from her bones.]

[He does not expect her to. It has been almost a decade now since the Brotherhood of Mutants last acted publicly, and most believe they were disbanded long ago. They have been a shadow player in the wars of the present, watching and waiting for their time. Even if Shireen knows of Magneto, he can't imagine that she would possibly know of him, Magnus's herald. To know his title alone would be shocking; to know his name, downright inconceivable.]

[ They are more alike than they are different, even he has to admit that much. Immortals both. Leaders both. Even their differences stand back-to-back with one another, like two sides of the same coin. Matriarch and patriarch. Inhuman and mutant.

But if it comes down to it, Bennet intends to prove they are not the same... because if it comes down to it, his people will be the ones that win.

That's a war for another day, though. Right now, though it pains him to admit it even to himself, they need one another. The pooled resources such an alliance would bring. ]

Declaring open war against SHIELD was a mistake. You allowed your emotions to cloud your better judgment.

[ It's a mild remark, not the cold rebuke it would have been directed at one of his own, but it comes from a place of judgment nonetheless. Perhaps this meeting will come to nothing, perhaps they will walk away simply affirming their opposition, but either way he will speak what he knows to be true. He's been doing that for too many years to stop now. ]

It would have been better to keep your people hidden and strike from a distance. That is what we in the Brotherhood have done.

[ And he doesn't like it, make no mistake of that. The warfare he was trained in was more of the kind this woman tried to wage, not the silent guerilla war his people wage and have waged. But for now there is simply no other choice. It took this long just to build the Brotherhood back up to a shadow of its former glory after their crushing defeat ten years ago. ]

[ It's a good speech. He's always been good at that, stirring words to inspire the people. But she is not a mere footsoldier, ready to wave a banner and follow him into battle. It will take more than stirring words to convince the likes of her, he suspects. ]

[He does certainly have the advantage of keeping up with the world more than she's done. Ever since retiring to Afterlife after her daughter's kidnapping all those years ago, Jiaying had been narrowly focused. Protecting her people, doing whatever that took.

It got out of hand, and she knows it. Has the dulled soul to prove it. (It's not entirely technical to think in terms of souls, but how else can she explain it, the intangible something that had been lit on fire inside her the first time she was killed and now felt oddly faint.)

So she nods politely in concession to his statements. She's not surprised he's giving them. She doesn't agree, but she's nothing if not civil.]

She's trying to look a little less secret agent and a little more helpful, but that's harder than it used to be. She only managed to get around things by flashing a badge, and she looks something close to a plainclothes cop than her usual getup, wearing a blazer like a real adult even. Coulson would be proud. When the girl comes in the room, Daisy is standing behind the desk tapping away at a phone screen, and looks up immediately with a smile.]

[It was really an accident. Quite a lot of accident and some very quick thinking by one of Jiaying's former colleagues. She dropped a crystal and vanished with inhuman speed but not before two SHIELD agents, a hydra agent, and Grant Ward got hit.

The entire area's been sealed off since the eruption - the SHIELD agents coming out of it first, one wielding liquid for arms and the other looking normal with unnaturally sharp eyes. The HYDRA agent hobbled out, a shell of a human being with the appearance of a sick looking monkey but Ward -

Ward has been in his cocoon for a day and a night - long enough for them to take it back to the local SHIELD base to be placed under lock and key before -

The cocoon staggers. We should destroy it May is all business. I know what you're thinking, I know what you think has to happen, but we should destroy this before he has a chance to become something that we have to fight

Chances are the argument is still going on even as the cocoon starts cracking, cracking -

And a human hand breaks free scattering bits of rock and matter across the floor.]

[they're so busy fighting about murdering one of their kind, they don't notice when the rock begins to quake. It's probably for the best, though. They'd only get in the way of procedure. They'd be too hung up on arguing about what he used to be to focus on what he is now.

So maybe it's best that Lincoln's paying attention to the part of the room that matters most. He moves unnoticed to the cocoon, palms running over solid stone. He whispers, too low for the shouting people tohear.]

who had known how true that would turn out to be? Hideous on the inside, beautiful on the outside, hideous on the outside - and...well...

Grant Ward has nothing left to hide.

Because as far as Lash is concerned Grant Ward is dead and HYDRA's purpose now is to create a better world for stronger people - people who are a cut above the rest. Some simply aren't worthy of the gifts the crystals bestow upon them.

The problem is he has bits and pieces, he has lost particles and different parts. He was always warped - but maybe the cocoon, the intense shattering pain, the physical changes and the sheer power finally destroyed his mind.

There is still something of Grant Ward though. Something in those red tinged eyes, in his jaw, in his cheekbones. Even if he's become a hulking monster who appears more then prepared to do murder.

His own people are fighting hers. Does she know? Does she know how far he's risen?]

You're always so eager to fight me Skye. This is the first time in a long time that I've thought about you, and seen you, and wanted to make real and lasting peace.
