uber driver, be my shrink for the hour

{The Road Trip Meme!!}

It's that time of the year again! You decided to take a road trip!
Either to your friends, relative, or perhaps an event,
but oh, my goodness, what will happen along the way?

• Post with your character name/fandom/options preferences.
• Use RNG to pick your possible scenario - or just go with what you'd like most.
• Reply to other people's tags. Use RNG, mix and match, or just wing it!
• Enjoy!

Situations:

1. BREAK DOWN
Oh, snap, your car decided to break down out in the middle of nowhere. WHAT DO? Is that Leatherface? Will this be "Children of the Corn"?
2. TRUCK STOP
You've stopped at a gas station. They're out of gas, snacks and the bathrooms are out of order. Wat do. (Zombie attack optional.)
3. HITCHHIKERS?
Is this even a good idea? Why is their backpack leaking suspicious substances? Go wild.
4. WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST HIT?
Dude, I hear deer mess up cars... or I think that was a deer.
5. DON'T MAKE ME TURN THIS CAR AROUND!
Alas, you're the parent or the disgruntled friend who has had it up to here with all the fighting in the back.
6. OMG, I WANT TO TAKE A PICTURE OF THIS LANDMARK!
No, no, and no. You tell that person that they're going to be driven around and they're going to like it.
7. THE GREAT ESCAPE
Either dinosaurs or the mothman is chasing you. Don't stop now.
8. MAKE OUT~
You're now parked in one of the make-out points in this town. Did you know? Well, that's up to you, as is what you do next.
9. WE'RE SO LOST
The map blew away when you were stupid enough to open the windows earlier. You know that old stereotype about how men never ask for directions but women will? Time to see if you're going to prove it right or not. Try not to fight over it too much, driving partners.
10. BUT OFFICER...
Those flashing lights in your rearview mirror? Definitely not just for decoration.

Relationship (optional):

1. BUSINESS PARTNERS: The jet was undergoing some heavy repairs, so you have to drive to that big meeting.

2. BFFS/ROOMIES: On your last hurrah before you join the 'real world.'

3. NEWLYWEDS: You're a young couple on your honeymoon! Hope this doesn't ruin your relationship.

4. SIBLINGS: Whether this is a trip to reconnect or to fix things or to just deepen your bond as epic sibs is up to you.

5. PARENT & CHILD: It's like a family vacation for the two of you. try not to get on each other's nerves too much?

"Keystone sounds great," he said as he climbed in. "I haven't been there yet. But I hear it has the best diner in the world. Are you from Beach City, then?"
furypatienceconversation: (Sorry I panicked.)

[personal profile] furypatienceconversation 2015-07-23 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Now that was an unexpectedly loaded question. Was she from Beach City? No. Had she lived there for a few thousand years? Yes.

So maybe that was the answer.

"I've lived there for a while." Her voice was low and smooth, ineffably calm. As it was most all of the time.

There was only one thing to say before she pulled back onto the road. "Seatbelt."
raavashing: (smile: Said goodbye)

[personal profile] raavashing 2015-07-23 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Wan twisted around in the seat to grab the seatbelt and pull it down across his body. Once he was secured, he tucked his backpack between his legs and idly glanced behind them into the back of the van.

"That's cool. I haven't lived any once place in a while. Few months here and there at most. Do you travel a lot? It looks like you live out of this thing. Not that there's anything wrong with it, just... there's a lot of stuff."

It was idle talk mostly. Something to fill the silence. But he was honestly curious. The vibe he got from the van was not the vibe he got from her.

"No. Greg lives in the van." She checked the mirrors, pulled out, and settled into the flow of driving. "I borrowed it."

Well, kind of. More like she'd waited until Greg was with Steven and had taken the van after leaving a Keystone pamphlet behind as a note about where she'd gone. That was the same as borrowing.

"He'll understand."
raavashing: (huh: I'm looking in)

[personal profile] raavashing 2015-07-24 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Greg." Right. Greg. He doesn't know who Greg is, but he got the feeling that she had not asked to borrow the van. Which meant he was in a stolen vehicle. Even if this Greg guy understood, it was still (probably) taken without permission.

Awesome.

"So... have you known Greg long?" Please let them be dating please let them be dating...
furypatienceconversation: (Sorry I panicked.)

[personal profile] furypatienceconversation 2015-07-24 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Not too long. Just over a decade." Or was it more? Steven was nearly a decade old, and Greg had known Rose for a while before they'd had Steven...

Over a decade was a safe estimate. Such small time periods felt like blinks instead of years.
raavashing: (smile: I surrender honestly)

[personal profile] raavashing 2015-07-24 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. Maybe not dating, but definitely history. That was good! Right? Maybe. Probably.

"Cool. So uh... why are you heading to Keystone? I'm not really heading there myself. Just passing through. But you seem like a woman on a mission."

He felt so awkward.
furypatienceconversation: (Don't mess with his funky flow.)

[personal profile] furypatienceconversation 2015-07-24 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"I... made some mistakes in Keystone. I'm going to fix them." Which might have been putting it mildly. She'd wrecked a booth in a diner (half of her had, anyway) and there was surely some ice damage at the motel, as well as some scorch marks on concrete that she should take care of. Somehow. "My temper got the better of me."
raavashing: (smile: Til I see you again)

[personal profile] raavashing 2015-07-24 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh." He said softly, his surprise obvious. That wasn't what he had expected to hear and it sounded like it was more personal than most small talk he did with those that picked him up. But it also sounded like she might need to talk about it.

In the next moment he was smiling gently, "Well, that's really good of you. Not a lot of people try to fix the problems they make any more. Most of the people I've met just try to brush it aside and find excuses. It's easier, I guess, for some. I've never been able to live with the guilt, myself. Are your mistakes the kind you can use some help with? Or are they the kind you really should do alone?"
furypatienceconversation: (Howdy. Bang.)

[personal profile] furypatienceconversation 2015-07-24 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
...Interesting offer. She glanced toward him behind her glasses, considering what he'd said, and she ended up shrugging, a gesture made more obvious by her short, puffed sleeves. "That would depend on if you know how to get scorch marks out of carpet or concrete. ...Or how to repair ice damage."

Which sounded odd, she knew. Humans just weren't used to that kind of thing. But there were only so many gems, and she didn't really want to talk to them at length about what had happened.
raavashing: (huh: And I would do it for you)

[personal profile] raavashing 2015-07-24 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
He gave her a long, considering look as one eyebrow rose up. Scorch marks. She had sent something on fire. And apparently made something cold enough that there was ice damage.

"Uh... I think you don't get scorch marks out of anything. You just sort of... replace it. And I'm not sure how to repair ice damage? Maybe just let it melt enough that it becomes water damage and repair that?"
furypatienceconversation: (Hard part was getting the shark to pose.)

[personal profile] furypatienceconversation 2015-07-24 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
It hadn't been fire. Not exactly, but that was probably what was safest to say. "Then I have water damage to repair."

It should've already melted. Unless Sapphire had been more thorough than she thought. She'd have to find out.

"And concrete to... redo."
