“Come oooooooon. Puh-leee-hee-he-heeeeeeaaase!” Zaphod sobbed, third arm banging on the ship’s hatch. It was a rather sorry sight, made even more apologetic by the state the heat drove him to. Both he and the small shuttle were on the beach, near a rather unfriendly sea that Zaphod suspected would melt him at the touch. It was hot - and not English summers by the sea type of hot. More like a radiating, penetrating, skin-melting type of hot. It was unbearable. It was excruciating.

It was Texas.

The heat at driven him to strip some of his clothes off - a sight that ought to apologize for itself. Not his shirt and nearly suffocating collar, of course, but his pants were removed and now turbaned around his head, leaving his legs bare and his other areas inadequately covered by a pair of Trillian’s panties.

“Oh, I’m terribly sorry!” A disgustingly cheerful voice chimed from the shuttle, “But your account has been locked due to too many failed login attempts. But don’t you worry one bit! Your account will be opened in just 87 hours, 43 minutes, aaand 02 seconds!”

“No no nono! I’ll tell you what the password is, it’s open the dang doors! You can’t let me die out here! I’m too pretty, too important to die out here! I’ll give you anything you want!” Zaphod sobbed again, sliding down into the sand.

If only there was someone else here for him to blame for his situation. It couldn’t possibly be his fault that he insisted on setting a security password on the shuttle after he crash landed, after all. And it certainly couldn’t possibly be his fault that, to ensure that password was extra secure, he made sure to choose one that not even he knew. Surely there could be someone or something else to blame.

Damnit, Marvin and Arthur were never around when he needed them.
