There you are, sending a text, no big deal, right? Well...unless it goes to the wrong person (oops). But at least it makes for an interesting conversation?

( Okay, it doesn't exactly take twenty minutes because half of those text messages came from stop signs and red lights, but she was bored. So maybe it's a little closer to ten or fifteen when she rings the doorbell, plastic bag full of polish accouterments in one hand and Taco Bell bags in the other. )

[Scott jolted awake at the doorbell. Blinking, he glanced around and realized what was going on.]

( Not what she's expecting to see on the other side of the door, for a moment, Lydia just looks back at him with widened eyes, arched eyebrows and lips pursed as if to keep herself from speaking while trying to formulate a response. )

( Her tone is lofty and playful, mostly because she's super not willing to admit that he looks good and her current dry spell is actually depressing. Lydia breezes by him and toward the kitchen to set down the Taco Bell, turning to face him again. )

[Seriously, that was the lamest justification ever. But he tries giving her an overly innocent smile to make up for it.]

( Okay, that's a little funny, even Lydia can admit that and so she laughs, rolling her eyes and shaking her head a little. )

( For a second she falters like she isn't quite sure he's serious, but then she gives a facial shrug and carries on casually. )

Oh, I have those, don't worry. And it's your house. Doesn't bother me any.

[He laughs. He always teased his mom for walking around in those things.]

Cool. You want to eat first? You can show me what you brought for Mom.

( She can't help but join him in the laughter as she pulls out one of the chairs at the kitchen table. )

Yeah, that works. If you ask really nicely maybe I'll even let you pick your color.

( Probably not, though. )

[He joins her and finds a couple packs of hot sauce before delving into his food.]

Oh.. I forgot to look..

[He peeks under the table to check her purple toes.]

Yes, I really do. ...I didn't bring them, though. Somehow, I feel like your mom wouldn't wear blue polish, hon.

( While he's looking under the table, she's picking out her order from the overall order and then she peeks under the table, too. )

I'm gonna let that slide because you're adorable, but you know...I'm wearing a skirt and you're looking under the table at me. Just want to point that out.

( But she doesn't look mad; in fact, she looks amused and maybe a little smug when she sits back up straight again. )

[His cheeks color at her remark and his eyes widen. That hadn't occurred to him but once she mentions it of course that's where his eyes go. The idea of seeing her panties was more than a little appealing. That just made him go even redder.]

[He straightened when she does and he can only barely remember her polish after that. All he can think about now is what's under that skirt.]

( After taking a bite of her food and swallowing it, she gets to her feet to raid his fridge for a drink. Casually, over her shoulder as she's bending at the waist — intentionally; look what you started, Scott — to look at the lower shelves, )

[His eyes follow her and his eyes widen a bit more as she bends over. His mouth suddenly going dry watching her. That skirt was so unfair. It taunted him the way it *just barely* covered her from his gaze.]

( Lydia bends a little further, reaching for the two cans of soda the furthest back on the shelf. They're black lace and don't cover much; no pantylines on the skirt, please and thank you very much. )

( She finally stands back up and turns to face him, holding up a can in each hand, one higher than the other as if to ask if he wants it. )

He blinked when she spoke again and very slowly, figured out what she just said. Incredibly flustered, he looked away and ran a hand through his hair.]

( She tilts her head slightly and cranes her neck just so to look back at him, her eyes an awful lot lower than his face. )

( Lydia wets her lips and moves toward him, bending at the waist again, this time facing him, to set his can on the table in front of him, letting the v-neck of her top hang loosely. )
