[ he's still until there's a part in the group in the front and haru moves down the aisle. makoto watches him, eyes wide as they meet haru's, but he doesn't move until haru disappears through the doors of the chapel. there's enough chatter and movement now that no one really gives him a second look as he heads for the doors as well. or it could be that some people expect it. makoto is the one who was with haru just before the wedding started, after all.

exiting the building is a relief, though makoto imagines it's an even greater one for haru. he knows he should be thankful for the pressing that led to his telling the truth, but there's a sense of guilt over saddling haru with his feelings at the last possible moment. it's something that will pass, makoto's sure, but he's sure he's pushed an immense amount of stress on top of haru with his sudden decision to get out of the wedding.

haru isn't immediately in sight, but makoto has the sense to know he hasn't run off. he moves toward the side of the building, peeking around the corner to find haru there. ]

Hey. [ a soft, easy greeting as makoto joins him, as if he's found haru avoiding crowds on the roof during lunch rather than momentarily escaping his own wedding. he comes to a stop close in front of haru, eyes falling to the hand curled into his shirt. slowly, makoto lifts a hand to cover haru's, gently aiming to pull it away from his shirt. ]

I'm sorry. I should've told you sooner.

[ or completely kept it to himself, but he knows haru won't like hearing that. ]
