A Bad Date - You get a text, a phone call, or maybe you can just see the other person floundering on what clearly must be the worst date of their life. Time to step in and save the day.
Prison - Maybe they've been wrongly convicted, or maybe you're an accomplice. Either way, it's jailbreak. Maybe the guards will fall for the old 'wounded prisoner' technique.
Taken Hostage - They're being held at gunpoint, either for money or for fun. Maybe you can talk down their captors, or maybe you are a captor, secretly working to help them.
Abuse/Neglect - Your body is damaged, your suffering taken it's toll. You can't save yourself anymore. You're wounded, you're starving, maybe even dying. Someone, help.
Addiction - Just one more. Nothing bad will happen if you just get one more. Either way, you can't save yourself from this downward spiral. Someone else is going to have to help.
Yourself - One bad choice after another, your self-destructive tendencies are going to get the best of you unless someone steps in, quick, to save the day.
Climactic Situation - You're hovering over an active volcano, a pit of sharks, about to fall off a cliff. Whatever it is, you've only got precious seconds of life left.
Loneliness - You've been secluded, locked away, and the emptiness is overwhelming. You need company, or you might just drown.
Unwanted Social Function - A family reunion, your three o'clock board meeting, whatever it is, you desperately don't want to go. Hopefully your good buddy can come up with a distraction.
A Bad Romance - You're trapped in a relationship that's headed south, and you can't seem to get away from the other person. Looks like you need a helping hand, maybe a prince charming.

[ It's almost laughably easy to get in where they're holding her, but the fact that they're holding her at all is the part that isn't. Tex is better than this-- he knows that, she's always been a helluva lot better than any of them, so the fact that she's here-- well, it's unsettling.

York pops the last lock, and knows better than to stand at the door in front of her, moving off to the side. ]

[Heroes will do their thing and it's not ever likely that this thief will step in where she's not really needed. This guy looks big and tough enough. He certainly is quite good at swinging that hammer around. But once the battlefield has died down and it seems like things have come to an end, can she really neglect him when he looks so... beaten?

She waits a moment, just to see if anyone else will step in. After all, that would be miles better. This still wasn't her place. But when no one does she makes her way over slowly. Cautiously.]

Usually the victor doesn't sport such a defeated look.

Derek was kicking himself mentally. He turned his back for just a moment and Emily was gone. It was all routine or it was supposed to be, they'd separated to chase down an unsub and before Derek knew it the guy and Emily had vanished. Her badge and gun left behind. They were able to finally find her and Derek was pacing ready to go in and get her. A plan was being made and he made sure to be included in any rescue mission.

Finally they gathered and Derek went in with them, surprising the unsub and allowing for Derek to take him out before he could draw his gun to shoot either Emily or at them. His buddies that helped surrendered looking like deer caught in headlights. He walked over to her and untied her.

"You alright?"
